Gain traction and support for your camera when using the black Gitzo Mini Traveller Tabletop Tripod with one-section carbon fibre legs and rubber feet. The pull and fix system of the legs allow you to have two variable leg angles, one with a maximum height of 6.9 inch and the other with a minimum height of 4.9 inch. Each individual leg can be moved independently to accommodate uneven terrain. The detachable ball head has no visible ball or pan locks, instead all movements are controlled with the gear lock located at the bottom of head. The 9.35 oz tripod is designed to hold small DSLRs and mirrorless cameras that weight up to 6.6 lb, and cameras will mount to the head via its 1/4 inch-20 mount. To fit in your camera bag properly, the support folds to a compact 8.7 inch.

Quality product, but needs functional improvements to be worth the money. The good: nice and light, small enough to easily fit into small camera bag, great quality, good head that holds mirrorless camera very well.Improvements needed: include one extendable tube length to legs to provide more height and make it much more useful. Include proper camera platform with Arca Swiss quick release plate. Have one more position to fix leg angle to - a lesser angle with less leg spread so you’ve got more options as to where to position tripod (I.e. on narrow plinth/shelf etc).As it is, it’s a lovely tripod, but it’s just not worth the money. However, with the above improvements, it would have a quite unique position in the tripod marketplace and I would definitely buy it ... MoreQuality product, but needs functional improvements to be worth the money. The good: nice and light, small enough to easily fit into small camera bag, great quality, good head that holds mirrorless camera very well.Improvements needed: include one extendable tube length to legs to provide more height and make it much more useful. Ok...Joke aside, it's a Gitzo you can afford, what else not to love about it?I have used various tripod brands over the year - My current workhorse tripod is a carbon fiber Benro travel series. It's a great tripod, however it's a bit too long and heavy for my liking to bring everywhere. Most of my shooting is done on ground level, so usually I need to carry the short center column as well. I have tried Gitzo in the past, but they were too expensive for me to justify a purchase.Enter the mini traveller. Yes it is pricey for a table top tripod, but you are getting affordable Gitzo quality. Would you put your expensive heavy camera + lens on a cheap table top tripod and hope for the best? Currently I'm running Sony A7R2 with the trinity G-master and Nikon ... MoreOk...Joke aside, it's a Gitzo you can afford, what else not to love about it?I have used various tripod brands over the year - My current workhorse tripod is a carbon fiber Benro travel series. Currently I'm running Sony A7R2 with the trinity G-master and Nikon 14-24/2.8. I wouldn't dare to use a basic table top tripod with these. The only complain I have about the unit is that the legs twist around too much. Once the camera is on top it won't move, but for a premium tripod I would have prefer no play movement even if it's not applicable during use. I also wish the head supports Arca Swiss out of box or include a plate that allows that. I will need to find some accessories to work with my RRS L-bracket.

Don't be fooled by it's size!

I wanted a small tripod I could just throw in my bag and forget about. I have another Gitzo tripod which is an amazing beast so I bit the bullet and went for this little chap. It's amazing, so small and light yes as strong as a horse. I bought to use with my Nikon Z7 but I've even used my D850 with the 20 ~ 70 lens and its really steady! It sits on my desk holding my phone (with a Manfrotto phone thing...which is also brilliant) and I just love it. Everything works perfect, the head is so so smooth and the legs are so sturdy and strong!

Gitzo Mini Traveller Black Tripod

Beautiful design. The ball head tightening ring is really easy to adjust and makes the tripod so much more compact than the conventional screw knob type. Overall quality and finish is top notch BUT the ball head to spider attachment bolt was screwed in way too tight and the cheap torx key provided was such a poor fit it rung, and in dong so seriously damaged the bolt head. Really disappointing when you've just spent top dollar on such a (until then) beautifully finished tripod.

Superb quality as one would expect from Gitzo. Smaller and stronger than I thought it would be and is super lightweight. My only complaint is that is doesn't come with signature Gitzo bag as all their tripods so. Would be nice if Gitzo offered custom padded bag for purchase.

Great Companion Tripod - One Minor Gripe
20 February 2019

Quality and finish on this item are up to Gitzo standards (and prices). Small enough to fit in the camera bag and handy to use. My only gripe is cosmetic - I prefer a round support plate where the head screws into the camera. When you tighten up the square plate on this unit, the plate corner can overhang the camera bottom, depending on size/configuration.

Great lil tike
26 January 2021

This small fry tripod really does the nugget. The grips grip. The ball swivels And when you don’t want it to... it doesn’t. The head holds. It’s elvishly light. And to top off the cherry, it’s wonderfully compact. Sure it’s a little pricy, but hey this gitzo ain’t a bozo and’ll make your photo go Pop!

Pros: It feels very solidly constructed - pretty important in a tripod.Cons: I'm not sure that needing a key is ideal. That's the sort of thing which is easily lost in the middle of Patagonia.

Plate doesn’t align with the camera base
3 December 2019

This depend son the ,model I guess, my Sony RX100, the -late aligns with the bottom of the camera as shown on the pictures with my Leicas though it doesn’t and overlaps.I thought first this was a manufacturing defect but then another review here and also one on the web mentions this.Otherwise it would have been great.

stable and reliable little thing
14 January 2021

I use it as a table tripod to hold my Nikon Z with big lens as webcam. My other vendors' mini tripods cannot hold the gear still. This Gitzo is stable even when the camera is connected to a 70-200 2.8 lens.
