Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

(2,524 reviews)

This lovely expression is from Glenfiddich Distillery based up in Speyside. This 12 year old uses the same water source that they used when the distillery first started making whisky back in 1887. Matured in a mixture of Oloroso & Bourbon casks made from American & European Oak - which results in a medley of nuanced soft flavours hiding inside this cracking whisky. Fun Fact, Glenfiddich translates as Valley of the Deer in Scots Gaelic.

I must admit I have never tried #Glenfiddich scotch whiskey, but I never turn down an opportunity to try new beverages as we love to entertain at our home. So let’s get to
it…. The Smell… smooth and light. Packaging 10/10 you can tell this isn’t the cheap stuff lol, packaging doesn’t need gift wrapping as it comes in a tin can, if you were looking
to gift it for the holidays. Ok taste was super smooth with a light Smokey after taste. This is so smooth you know you better go easy as it will most likely creep up on you as it
contains 40% alcohol with out the burn. Would I buy this again … most definitely. Worth the money … yes as you are paying for the quality (smooth taste).

I was super excited to receive this #cashback offer from #Glenfiddich and #Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I have never been a liquor drinker but recently
have been enjoying trying various brands of Scotch with my husband. This single malt scotch comes in a stunning tin and attractive green bottle. When poured, the scotch
has a light, golden color. Its aroma has soft woody, smoky notes. Upon first sip, a gentle hint of smoke greets your palate. The smokiness continues to open up to a mild,
vanilla taste that finishes with a warm full-bodied flavor. The overall flavor profile is smooth and sophisticated. Makes me feel like I’m sipping scotch in a dark an... Show more

I have never had Glenfiddich 12 Single Malt Scotch Whisky before this review. I purchased it and was pleasantly surprised with the reasonable price, and took it home for a
relaxing evening with a cigar. It was incredibly smooth and is one of the best single malt scotch whisky’s I have ever had! It goes best with a few ice cubes and a small amount
of water to bring out the flavorful notes. This product not only did meet my expectations but it surpassed them! I would highly recommend this product to anyone who enjoys
a scotch on the rocks!

I missed out on my chance to claim a spot in the Cashback Challenge but still bought to try and review anyway so to start, I will say that everything about this Whisky from its packaging to the taste of it says elegance to me. Its one of those bottles you long to display on your bar cart even after its contents are finished. As for the taste, it was very great tasting and Im guessing it being ā€œMaltā€, left an almost carbonated ā€œbeer-likeā€ aftertaste which wasn’t bad at all. Also came in at a reasonable price point for the quality. Two swigs of it and I was already feeling a nice little buzz which is the best part Lol! Recommend for all the Malt Scotch Whisky Lovers out there!... Show more

I do enjoy my whiskey but I can say that the highest brand on the shelf that I’ve ever went for was Jack Daniel’s, so I was extremely excited to try this Glenfiddich Scotch Whiskey. So excited, in fact, that I found myself doing a shot before noon. The first thing I noticed is that it has a very smooth taste. With a lot of whiskeys you really notice the woody taste of the barrel. I feel like it’s a lot more subtle with this, there is the woody flavor there that I love, but it’s more complex and not at all over bearing. I’m sitting here sipping it, trying to put my finger on a better way to explain. I think if you are a whiskey lover, as I am (it’s my drink of choice), this is a must try.... Show more

I was selected to be a part of the glenfiddich digital cash back challenge. After going out and purchasing this product, I was told they ran out of redemptions, so now I'm out $40 and stuck with a bottle I would never have purchased myself. Since I have it and I am actually a whiskey enthusiast, I figured I might as well review it. Knocking one star off due to poorly executed campaign. To set the stage here, I got into whiskey about a year ago and have accumulated about 20 bottles ranging in price from $20-100. The styles range from straight corn whiskey (shameless mellow 🌽 plug!) to spicy barrel proof rye. Now on to the review. Color: this scotch pours a golden straw color, but don't be fooled. Due to the additive regulations for scotch, this partially comes from added caramel coloring rather than from the oak barrel. Nose: smells like straight apple juice. Seriously, it's bizarre. This actually isn't bad though. Fruit forward and kind of mellow. No ethanol, but that seems pretty on par with this only being 80 proof. Palate: the first impression I got after a sip of this was, man this tastes watered down. Same apple character as the nose, but really thinned out. Similar to when you get to the bottom of a drink after all the ice has melted. Nothing really jumps out at you flavor wise, except a little bit of creaminess. Probably from the sherry cask. Kind of like that bottom shelf Sheffield sherry. It's not really bad tasting, but it's weak and anemic. Overall: this might be good to keep around for that friend that doesn't drink. Mix this in with a coke and it's like it's not even there. Not really flavorful enough to stand on its own, and for the price you can do better. For this price point I think Monkey Shoulder is an absolute steal. It's not a single malt, but it's rich and delicious. Good for drinking on its own or as a mixer. Redbreast 12, is not a scotch, but is also a great option for slightly more money. Eagle rare or buffalo trace, while getting harder to find, are super steals if you find them at MSRP. Knob creek, mellow corn, maker's mark, bulleit, michter...I could go on. The takeaway is that you're better off spending your money elsewhere. #glenfiddich... Show more

It's been a few years since I've tasted any Scotch, being partial to quality Bourbons instead. This taste brings back memories and reminds me how good Scotch can be when it is a high quality selection. This choice is on par with 12 year Chivas Regal, but my bias shows through as my preference is for blended vs single malt. It is smooth as silk but has a dragon's bite at the same time. The flavor is impeccable despite the aquired taste of single barley malts. It may be a bit overpowering served neat, but mixes well even with a splash of ice water. All in all it is a wonderful Scotch, but some of its appeal maybe lost on me a bit giving my preference for blended whisky when it comes to Scotch.... Show more

I've been doing tastings for a bit as a small hobby, between beer and wine. And anyone who hosts a proper tasting knows that the glass is an important aspect of the tasting. I had to order in a couple glencairne glasses before I could properly review, and the first ones broke 😳 So ordered new ones, and they arrived just in time for Halloween! The 12year aged Glenfiddich is smooth and oaky, with very little peat. There's a bit of a bite back when you first sip it, but never trust the first sip! I definitely enjoyed it, but scotch is not really my thing to drink straight up. I plan to try it again with a drop of water to help cut some of the bitterness, or even a Godfather (with amaretto on the rocks). But I could get into drinking this straight up with some time.... The Speyside Distillery puts out wonderful Whiskey and Scotch and many say that the 14 year old is the best. I believe, however, that this lovely juvenile Single Malt that is matured in Sherry Casks made of American and European Oak Barrels, then mellowed in Oak marrying Tuns so it will have a sweet and subtle flavor should be counted among the older ones as being just as wonderful. As for me, I think it has a lovely mouth feel, a bit buttery. The Whiskey seems to be a bit more floral than American Whiskeys and a bit more complex. Almost like a Whiskey/Wine smash-up. I can taste Apples and Pears and a bit of light Milk Caramel. Quite delightful really. I enjoy Glenfiditch. Honestly I would not have bought this without this Campaign and I'm glad I did. I drink a lot of scotch. The Glenfiddich 12 is a nice clean dram without anything to distinguish it easily from a nice blend. If someone asked me for a "starting place" to begin learning about scotch I might point them to this and then line up some peated selections or sherried drams to begin learning where scotch can go. As it is, it's average nice scotch...not challenging, not transcendent, just a consistently average nice scotch. If a scotch loving friend asked for a recommendation, this wouldn't be on the list. If a true scotch neophyte asked for a suggestion, I would likely point to Glenfiddich 12.... Show more
