Glenmorangie Tusail is the sixth release in the Private Edition series. Tusail is the Scottish Gaelic word for originary. To create this exciting new release, Maris Otter barley has been used. Maris Otter barley was originally grown almost exclusively as a premium brewing barley in the 1960's. Over time it fell out of fashion, with higher yielding barley varieties taking more prominence. The master distiller at Glenmorangie, Dr Bill Lumsden and team have created Tusail, a single malt whisky produced used traditional floor matted Maris Otter barley, matured in a small number of hand selected casks. Glenmorangie Tusail is a bright oche whisky with rich, rustic flavours of nut toffee, sweet barley malt, ginger cinnamon, molasses and dates, complementing the more familiar Glenmorangies notes of peach, orange and smoked pears.
