Comfy, fit well, good traction, poor breathability

I have an Altra-shaped foot but I need a sneaker with drop, so I tried these. Surprisingly, these are wide enough for my feet. They are very comfy and soft, have a great
traction on trails, and fit well. However, they do not breathe well at all. My feet were pretty soaked with sweat. When I wear my Brooks or Altras on the same trail and same
temperature outside, my feet do not get as wet since they have better breathability. Also... the squeak! Like lots of other reviews have mentioned, my right sneaker SQUEAKS!
I even took a video of it as evidence. The pic I attached is from the video. I've never had a sneaker that squeaked in my entire life - not sure how Salomon mana... Show more

Great cushioned training shoe for long runs and recovery days.I’ve never really been a big fan of Max cushioned/high stack height trail shoes as I usually find them too
rigid/stiff for me. This isn’t the case with the Glide Max Tr though. The cushion is good, and I’m very happy that the shoes flex naturally with my foot and doesn’t cause any
discomfort or strain in my achilles or calves.I think I would have preferred the quick laces on these as I do find the laces come untied a bit, but maybe that’s just me as I’m not
used to tying laces with Salomons.Great new model!!

Really like this iteration of the Glide Max shoe - maximum cushioning, higher drop, and a bit more room in the shoe for odd shaped feet. I may still buy quicklaces for this
shoe, however having traditional laces is not a bad thing either. On the run, this is a solid workhorse with typical grip for this class of trail shoe from Salomon. I will definitely be
buying more pairs!Note that these run a bit big - I'm an 8 in regular shoes but always but 8.5's in running shoes - for this shoe I sized at my regular 8 and they are perfect.

Good but not Speedgoats
30 May 2024
I was really hoping these were going to replace my Speedgoats. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a replacement brand. First off, the outer welded plastic band on the inside of my right foot creates a friction point as you can feel it through the fabric. I bought a second pair before I wore these and promptly returned those. Unfortunately, I was unable to return these. I put a piece of KT tape on the inside to hopefully soften the area. It did help, but after a 26 miles rugged trail, my feet were wrecked. Fatigue and just overall hurting. Not sure how to describe it other than these are are not Speedgoats or even close. Less padding in the ball of foot and less traction. I almost ate it several times when the shoes slipped out from under me on few wet rocks. Great cushion with support. No squeaks.
27 November 2023
I purchased these because I had seen them before and liked the description. Then I saw them on sale. Fortunately for me there were no squeaks upon wearing them. The 9.5 fit me very well. I have somewhat of a small volume foot, slightly different sized, and often need to buy two sizes to get an accurate/usable fit. I suppose the extra cushioning made up for this and formed to my feet. I also like that the cleats on the shoe are short to moderate so they work great for every day use. I hope that Salomon keeps the factory going and continues this line.... Show more

Great distance trail shoe!
6 October 2024
Really like the comfort and fit of this shoe! It's great for long distance easy trail runs on gravel and light trails. My one complaint is that since The shoe does not have a gusseted tongue, it often shifts to the side and I have to stop to fix it. This is definitely an oversight in my opinion for a trail shoe. Also, the grip is pretty good, but would be made better with a slightly more aggressive lug profile which would allow the shoe to be used on more aggressive and technical trails.I'm between a 10.5 and 11 in most shoes and these seem to run a little on the larger size so the 10.5 fits perfect.... I do not recommend these shoes
21 October 2023
I appreciate the extra cushioning on these shoes, though there isn't much bounce. You certainly can run for a while without getting tired feet. The lace system isn't the same as other salomon shoes, unfortunately, and feels cheap.Toe box is too large:I had a sizing issue. I always wear size 10 for running shoes, but these couldn't keep my toes in place. As I was running downhill my toes would squish up against the front and it caused quite a bit of pain days after. I wouldn't recommend these, I'm afraid. These will probably just become walking shoes.... Show more

Most comfortable trail running shoes ever
27 August 2023
I've tried numerous trail running shoes in search of comfort, which you rarely find in trail shoes which tend to be rugged. These might not have the most gnarly knobs underneath, but they're like walking on a cloud, and most of us just stick to basic trails, so these fit the bill for being insanely comfortable and have good enough grip. They might have a dad shoe bulkiness to them, but the decoration design overrides that look somewhat. Fits true to size. I'd definitely buy more. Hoping size 13 comes back in stock!... Show more

Squeakity squeak squeak

I wanted so badly to love this shoe. I'm a big fan of the Glide but found myself wanting more cushion, so when this was announced? Sign me up.And the initial few runs felt great. My third run in them was during a 12 hour race, and they felt smooth on the grassy, wooded trails - the perfect terrain for these shoes. The grip on them isn't great in mud, but frankly that's to be expected.Fast forward to a few weeks (and maybe a handful of additional runs later) and the right shoe squeaks. With every step. Step. Squeaks
28 June 2023
The shoe was great for the first couple of weeks, but (just after the return window ended) one of the shoes started squeaking with every step. It's infuriating, like a squeaky toy taped to the bottom of one foot. Several well known Youtubers (such as Ginger Runner) have also dealt with this so it's not a one-off. Additionally, the (non-squeaking) shoe started rubbing against the outside of one ankle.Keep an eye (ear?) on the return window if you get these.... Show more
