My dv247 order never arrived so I ended up buying the desk elsewhere. However, might as well chirp in on the product here. The desk is decent size and sturdy. Not the simplest thing in the world to put together, but I had no issue doing it on my own.I’m not in love with the design on the drawer-shelf though. They added a thick wooden piece under the drawer to stop it from sagging. This eats up valuable space for your knees. They used a metal strip under the main desk surface for the same purpose. Much thinner and sturdier. Should’ve done the same for the shelf. With my Nord electro I can still see sagging even when not played.Secondly, the shelf mechanism is pants. Excellent product. Perhaps just a tad pricey for what it is, but extremely functional for music production. Much beter than trying to frankenstein a solution from a standard desk.Perhaps the top shelf could be a little deeper; I have 8" monitors which overhang significantly if they are not on stands. All told, I am extremely happy.Dealing with DJ City was painless and smooth

Well constructed and nicely finished product. Had one tiny chip in one of the pieces but was able to fix it myself. You don’t need to use the glue. Not overly impressed on the price as it was £50 less last year so quite a hike. (Currently £450)The rack bolts are a bit fiddly and you do only get 8 per side, not enough to rack mount 6 single units. However I found that you can take the ‘thread part’ out of a standard cage nut they fit, find short rack bolts as it’s not very deep. As it’s a rack rail I cut down some cardboard to make spacers to keep them in position and stop them just failing down. The cable tidy rail is very useful.

I was looking for a well-made production desk with some built-in rack units. This totally fit the bill. The construction is solid and it was fairly easy to put together by myself in a few of hours. The MIDI keyboard shelf works great and provides ample room for my legs when not in use. Plus it's fully adjustable by several inches. I wish the shelf was a little deeper, but it works fine with the average controller.I also wish the upper shelf was a little deeper to better hold my 8 studio monitors, but it works.I detest the rack unit system. Instead of pre-drilled rack rails, they use a sliding nut system, which is incredibly cumbersome and difficult to use. It works, but it is a pain...Great desk at a great price. I would recommend to anyone.
The assembly of this desk is complicated and takes time. The result is great though. But the assembly is not for someone that has never built furniture this complex before.I would also add that the roll out keyboard tray that would suit a full size 88 key keyboard, is not as sturdy as I would have liked it to be. There is a small amount of flex. I would have liked it if they had added the support rib in metal rather than the MDF they have supplied. I might even add that myself to my desk.Cable management capabilities are great, but also with something to note, large and WIDE powerboards will not work well. The ones with the double row of outlets should be avoided. I had those and now am swapping to two much longer single row powerboards. The ones with the double row of outlets should be avoided. I had those and now am swapping to two much longer single row powerboards. The issue with the double row ones is there is not enough room in the cable tray at the rear of the desk to allow for the board to fit and the traditional 'wall wart' type power adapter bricks to fit as well. The rack mount capabilities are good and seem robust. For the price this is a good buy if you know what you are doing for assembly. You will end up with a good workstation with a number of possibilities for managing your cables etc.
...I use a Komplete Kontrol S61 and the shelf doesn’t pull out far enough to see the screens. So having spent three hours building it I absolutely love the quality but am having to compromise and put pc keyboard and mouse on the pull out and piano keyboard on the top. The shelf has a support strut on the bottom as well so when you pull it out you need the chair really quite low (with pull out shelf in default position) or you bang your knees.I totally accept that I should have paid closer attention to the measurements before ordering but I had assumed a keyboard shelf would pull out far enough to reach the buttons at the top Of the keyboard - the S61 is hardly outsized!Other than this, however, I can’t fault this desk. Solid with clear build instructions and it really does look gorgeous. Very clever wire tidy holes as well. And it was delivered quickly and correctly to the U.K. which is especially impressive in these challenging times.
The build process was easier than I had imagined, given all of the pieces that go into building this beautiful desk. Even though the individual pieces are pressed board, once the desk is put together and supported by the screws and legs it is rock solid and looks and feels way more professional that I had imagined at this price point.Love the look and feel of the desk and the amount of space is perfect for my home project studio. Love the thoughtful cable management and bonus keyboard tray. Love the thoughtful cable management and bonus keyboard tray. Even though item says it was back ordered and not expected until the following month, I got lucky and received my order quickly within one week of ordering. The only quirk I wasn't personally thrilled about was that I am not a fan of the included rack ears for the desk. They are not the normal simple rack ears, and take a bit of fussing to get the nuts and screws lined up to rack mount your gear. I also wish hey had included an optional rack ear solution for the middle compartment as it does leave adequate space to fit an additional 3U of gear in the middle compartment for 9U total in the desk. I will likely be buying some third party rack ears and mounting them as a mod to the original desk to make this a full 9U desk setup instead of having wasted space in the middle compartment similar to the original desk by another manufacturer that inspired the design of this one.If this desk included an optional rack ear solution to use all available 9U of space I would hands down give this a raving 5 stars.
The desk appears outstanding for the price. Lots of space, looks excellent, and seems quite sturdily made. But the problem is. I haven't fully built the desk yet. The desk comes in 2 boxes and when I recieved it, one box had the walnut color as I ordered and the other was white. I was able to get this corrected swiftly. But when the correct colored part arrived and I nearly had the desk completed ... the cam screws and their associated holes did not match, along with other misalignments. So yet again working on getting the correct parts, which is a bit of a run around. B&H CS is helpful, patient, and have a good attitude. So when, if ever, this desk gets put together correctly, this will be a nice piece. But until then, Glorious Sound needs to get it together.
Save the heartache and get literally anything else. The desk would be good if the holes were drilled in the right place and the pull-out board was actually long enough to be installed (a good 1/4" short), but instead there are about 5 places where a screw or a peg is off by 1/2"-1 full inch. I can't install the desk top or drawer/pull-out to the base.It would probably be just as easy to go to the lumberyard and build it from scratch. Now all I'm left with is the headache of figuring out how to return this useless pile of wood. I can't stress this enough... DO NOT BUY!
First time ordering with B&H, and I can say it was a good experience. After looking for a desk for about a month, I decided on this one; the desk got home within 3 days of placing my order. Came in two separate packages and wasn't too heavy. The packaging was decent. The wood is strong and the paint finish is nice. Assembly only took a couple of hours. I like that it has 2 3U racks and 5 cable holes and a cable organizer in the back. I can tell a lot of detail and thought was put into designing this desk. This desk is perfect for what I needed, and it's a better deal compared to a similar design desk which cost a lot more.
