Glow Lab Facial Moisturiser 100 ml

I’m a big fan of glow skincare and have a few products from their range in my collection so was extremely excited to see this in our best in beauty box! In typical Glow fashion the packaging was cute yet simple and practical, nothing too over the top just a plain squeeze tube that stands on its lid ensuring that you get as much product as possible. On first use I noticed the consistency to be quite fluid for a facial moisturiser, reminded me more of a body moisturiser. There was no fragrance added which gave it the plain sorbolene smell. On application the product spreads generously due to its consistency covering the face easily with a small amount. On first use I noticed the consistency to be quite fluid for a facial moisturiser, reminded me more of a body moisturiser. There was no fragrance added which gave it the plain sorbolene smell. On application the product spreads generously due to its consistency covering the face easily with a small amount. It soaked into my skin after a minute or 2 leaving it feeling slightly tacky which was promising for makeup application however not something I would personally use on its own. Under a light makeup it held well, my concealer didn’t slip over a 6-8hr wear day and my blush and bronzer blended quite well over it (I tend to conceal under eyes and problem areas only and bronze and blush on a light day). I also set makeup with a setting spray only and no powder which is great, and after everyday use my skin did not breakout at all or have any reaction to the moisturiser. I didn’t see any improvement or change in my skin either so for me it only acted as a good primer for my makeup, I will say I didn’t notice that areas of my skin that often are dry and flaky were not noticeable when using this which is amazing as I find it difficult to cover those areas especially with a concealer so this was great.

This is the first glow lab moisturizer and light moisturser i’ve purchased and used. There always has to be a first for everything. So, i cleansed my face using a different brand and product then followed it by this moisturizer. I have to say its very light to a point i don’t feel like i moisturised my face after using it. I took this on holiday with me while traveling to very hot climates, and it was quite good for such situations because i was constantly hot and sweaty (gross) and a heavy or thick moisturiser would have made my situation worse. But i personally would not use this daily when living in NZ as the atmosphere here really dries out my skin and this wouldn’t work for me. To be honest, im not rushing back to buy some more anytime soon.

The Glow lab facial moisturiser is a good everyday moisturiser that can be used day or night. It contains no SPF so will need layering with sunscreen when using it it during the day and you aren't planning to be indoors. For this very reason I enjoyed using this moisturiser as I am predominately at home give the lockdown due to the pandemic and without the sunscreen ingredients, I find the moisturiser light, hydrating and so easily absorbed into my skin. It is lightly scented with essential oils of botanicals which smells fresh and not overpowering on application. The hydration level is average so if you have very dry skin you may need something that is more emollient so I think this moisturiser has the perfect consistency for use during the Spring and Summer seasons. I found that as I need a more emollient product and I don't want to use this layered on top of a serum for test purposes, I've only really used this a day moisturiser since it mixes well with other face products without balling, it's easy to use to layer for additional hydration or protection. In one week's use of the product, my skin is soft, well hydrated and fresh looking. without any breakouts or irritation. I'm now going to try it at night too with other products to see if it would amplify the results of my night time skincare products.

I just wish it had SPF because I like my products to have both as it makes my skincare routine much easier. Overall, it is a really nice light moisturiser and I would recommend it.

I’ll be honest, I was very apprehensive about trying this face moisturiser, with the reason being I react to almost all face moisturisers because of a common thickening ingredient that seems to be in everything! My daily staples are La Roche-Posay Toleriane moisturisers which are the few products I don’t react to. I cautiously applied the Glow Lab cream and was absolutely gobsmacked when I didn’t react! The one downside I found and the reason I took off a star is that I found it wasn’t hydrating enough in the still at times cool (and always dry) weather here in Canberra and left my combination skin wanting more. It might be better suited to my skin in summer weather. Overall, I would highly recommend it and I am seriously considering repurchasing it in the warmer months. With a price point of around $16, I think this is a smart investment into your skin at a bargain price. Furthermore, this product is often on sale at Woolworths and Big W for half that!

My skin got shinier quicker than usual, so I guess it is moisturising, but that being said it might not be for oily skin that doesn’t need additional moisturising, which is weird because then it won’t exactly be for all skin types but why would you buy a moisturiser if you don’t want/need moisturising? Sorry, I guess what I mean to say is, I wouldn’t purchase this because I don’t need it, but I trialled and reviewed it because it was part of the Beauty Box that I have to review. The best part I could say is, it didn’t break me out and it didn’t hinder my regular products from working.
