I’ve had this a few times before and it wasn’t great tasting, but this time I’m trying to decide if I got a defective batch or it’s gone bad. I LOVE that this style of bottle is easy to open (when you’re injured) unlike other nutritional drinks, but the taste just has never been there for me. I also love that there’s no soy listed like Ensure, but you never know what’s included in “natural (and artificial) flavors”! I only use it when I’ve been sick and need a nutritional supplement because the ingredients aren’t anti inflammatory- corn, dairy, etc.

Love the fact that this is low on sugar, low on calories, but high in protein. It’s packed with necessary vitamins as well. This keeps me not hungry for a solid 4 hours, and I’ve started drinking this as a lunch meal replacement, where I would otherwise have to scarf down my food due to my busy schedule, and then feel sluggish and tired after the meal. It helps that this doesn’t taste bad at all for such a healthy alternative. I don’t ever crave the flavor of these protein shakes, but I enjoy the flavor enough where drinking one a day isn’t so bad.

The chocolate taste is fine, but the sweetness factor is through the roof. I could barely take 2 sips. Why, if you are trying to watch your sugar, would you make something taste so sickening sweet? I ended up using about a third of it to make myself a coffee mocha. Still a bit sweeter than I would like, but it was palatable.

I am an avid golfer. We start rounds as early in the mornings as we can. I'm only ready for coffee first thing in the morning and I don't like the mess of many breakfast foods on the course. I can grab a Glucerna 30g Protein Shake, stash it in my bag and be on my way. I prefer the chocolate flavor and it tastes like an indulgent dessert. There is a blend of slow release carbs called carbsteady that keeps me energized throughout my round. I do not have diabetes, but I watch my sugar intake. There are only 3g of sugar in this tasty drink and 150 calories plus 4g of fiber. It contains vitamins C, E, A and D to help with my immunity health. I appreciate that Glucerna uses a paper carton that can be easily recycled. What's not to love?!
I really enjoyed this protein shake. I found the chocolate flavor delicious, without any funny aftertaste. I really appreciated that it has 30 g of protein per shake and the calories are reasonable.I tried this on its own, as well as using it in foods. I like to make my overnight oats with protein shakes, and this one worked great for that purpose. I also used it in a milkshake which was yummy, and as coffee creamer. I would have preferred a little more creaminess for my coffee, but it still worked pretty good.My next plan is to try to heat it up for some nice hot chocolate the next time it snows.I definitely recommend this protein shake.
The Glucerna protein shake has a great not to thick consistency. Competes with other well know brands such as Premier Protein and Muscle Milk. I know this product is marketed more for diabetics but most protein shakes have low levels of sugar. The vanilla taste was not to my liking and found the taste to artificial. Taste is subjective but I prefer chocolate in almost every brand. This is a great meal supplement to hold you over and keep hunger away or as a before or after work out drink. I like that it's not just protein but packs a cocktail of vitamins and minerals.

GLUCERNA- GLUCERNA 30 GRAM PROTEIN SHAKE VANILLA. I am so sad that this shake did not work for me. I was looking forward to trying it. I have a terrible habit of skipping meals all day and only eating one meal per day. I need to gain weight an add a supplement such as this to my diet. Unfortunately this shake did not taste all that pleasant to me. I did manage to finish it though hoping I would get used to the flavor by the time I finished it. That was not the case. Not only was the flavor not pleasing to me it caused me a lot of distress on my digestion system. Distress I could have done without as I am trying to gain weight not lose it. I am sorry this was not a good product for me.
The Homemade Vanilla Protein Shake by Glucerna is great tasting, has great vitamins, and 30 grams of protein. I really enjoyed this shake, and it helped me to control my hunger until dinner time. I also really liked that this shake is made with a blend of slow absorbing carbsteady carbohydrates to keep your blood sugar steady and manage hunger for longer periods of time. The vanilla flavor is classic, and not too sweet, since this shake has only 3 grams of sugar. I would also like to try in more flavors. I would highly recommend for anyone watching sugar content and looking for a quality protein shake for on the go.
Although I am not dibetic, my mom is, and although these shakes are designed to support people with diabetes, I find these shakes are perfect for meal replacement or as a workout recovery drink for the rest of us. These have 30 grams of protein, good luck finding that anywhere so you stay full, they are low calorie, low carb, low sugar and high in fiber. The taste is smooth and creamy, the vanilla flavor is ok, personally not my favorite. The shake itself is not super thick not like a typical protein drink, and although some people find there to be a metalic aftertaste, I did not taste that at all. I personally recommend these shakes, again great for diabetic support
