My recent PLB came up to battery expiry. Rather than get it refirbished for $200 to further extend it's life I decided to buy the latest equivalent. Annaconda price and service delivery was outstanding with communications all the way until delivery. I am very pleased. I have bought lots of select equipment from Annaconda and it has all been great.

I bought this beacon because we travel in our caravan all over Australia. I bought it for peace of mind if anything happens when in remote area we can activate it for help. I also bought one for my son who is travelling Australia with his wife and young family. I am of the opinion that anybody travelling long distances should have a PLB.

I also bought one for my son who is travelling Australia with his wife and young family. I am of the opinion that anybody travelling long distances should have a PLB.
Simple bit of kit that I hopefully will never use. It sits in attached to the first aid kit in the ute. Registration is simple and have a pic or 2 of your car or boat or what ever you use to get to where you may use this bit of gear. The pic will help SAR locate the area or confirm who they are looking for faster. It's not much bigger than a PC mouse and very simple to operate.
Have not long received this, so have not used as yet, hopefully won't have to. But I am very impressed with the size and weight. Have looked into how to use it and it is easy enough. Wanted something I can take hiking and have in the car. Lightweight, easy to use, easy to register. Will be great for camping and hiking trips
Impressed with how solid and well made this PLB feels. Seems very easy to operate and I like that it has a test button. Battery life is 7 years which is great plus the unit can be serviced and the battery replaced after it's expiry date. Registering the PLB through the Australian Maritime Safety Authority was also easy.
Bought after research and happy with price and speed of delivery. The registration process with the authorities takes a while but is of course necessary. Haven’t used it yet - thank goodness - but like I said, it’s getting good reviews even from experts. Small and handy and smartly constructive so you can’t set up any alarms accidentally. Good instructions too.
Two walkers in the Megalong valley without an ELB made the news a day after my MT610G arrived. It took three days to find them and I heard the helicopters and planes for hours near my house.It won't happen to me. This ELB is so small that I can put it in my back pocket and be safe even-if I leave my daypack at home.
The GME MT610G is a nice small package that gives me peace of mind when I travel to remote areas alone. I hope I never have to use it, but I feel safe that it is with me.Johnny Appleseed was one of the few places I could purchase this PLB as stock seems fairly limited everywhere. Their online portal was easy to use, and delivery was much quicker than I expected.
Having owned the previous model GME MT410G PLB for over a decade, I had high expectations from this model, and it didn't disappoint. The MT610G lives up to GME's exceptional quality and innovative design. GME has improved this model in several key areas over the previous model in terms of use, functionality & size. It's an even more compact model yet still providing around 7 years battery life. I am yet to use it (I hope I never have to), but the look and feel is top notch. Great to see an Australian company like GME continues to innovate and remain at the leading each of its industry. Highly recommended.
