I have been taking lots of calcium supplements since 2005 due to hypoparathyroidism. Since 2018 I had to switch from calcium carbonate to 2000mg daily of calcium citrate due to CKD and kidney stones. It is impossible to find calcium citrate in 1000 MG tablets (even though it takes 4 tablets of the GNC brand to make 1000mg thus I have to take a total of 8 tablets daily). Originally when I first started to purchase the GNC brand, the only other ingredient was Cellulose. Now when I order it, the bottle looks different and it has numerous other ingredients, some of which I can't even pronounce. I wish they would go back to the original formula without all the added ingredients. But, I must say that with either one, my calcium level stays close to normal more than what ... MoreI have been taking lots of calcium supplements since 2005 due to hypoparathyroidism. I prefer going in person to a GNC store to make my purchases, but with the pandemic going on, I started to order online and I have gotten excellent service.

Why did you change the formula? The old one which I took for years only had 1 inactive ingredient. Now it has many inactive ingredients and I'm allergic to one of them - magnesium stearate. I can no longer take your calcium citrate. I'm very bummed and I'm having a hard time finding a substitute without magnesium stearate. Please bring the old formula back!

. I would suggest not using this particular calcium supplement.

And I don’t recommend this calcium supplement. I suffer from osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. When I do not have enough calcium in my system I get painful muscle cramps throughout the night when trying to rest. The calcium citrate formula is not as easily absorbed as many other citrate calcium‘s. I would suggest not using this particular calcium supplement.

Calcium Citrate

This was recommended by our Drs and only place to find is at GNC. Ordering one purchase at a time is great. Had too many screwups with auto-filling.

Calcium Citrate 1000 mg - Excellent
1 February 2022

Been taking this product for years. 4 a day for me after experimenting dosage to eliminate the cracking in my elbows and ankles. I like it as it has nothing else in it (magnesium or D3). As soon as I started using this product I noticed a difference. I've tried other calcium supplements and none worked for me like this one. In yoga class, I hear lots of cracking ankles when performing a descending position (not me though) and have recommended this calcium. Best to order online as most of the GNC shops here are always out.

Excellent!

Bought these for my grandfather, as everybody knows with age bones need more of calcium. Bought especially this formula, cause it has easier and faster absorption. The quality of these minerals are very good, helped to improve his bone system health. Capsules wasn't too big, no taste.

Good

High Quality Supplement from GNC, a reputable brand. Also, I researched a lot and found that it is the only major company to provide 250 mg per tab of solely Calcium Citrate. Others come with a combination of different calcium types.

New calcium product not near as good as the original one.
26 July 2020

This new calcium product is very different than their original. This new one has a LOT of added ingredients, unlike the original, which just had one added ingredient. Please bring the original one back, the one with the green label, with just calcium and one added ingredient.

Perfect for my health requirements
12 November 2021

This product is exactly what I have to have to help contol a condition I have. I wish that it was more readily available in my GNC store as it used to be . I have to take this the rest of my life along with a few other things for this same condition. In light of that, it also has been tougher being able to afford this as the price has increased, I used to pay $11.00. Am now retired and on fixed income, so there is that. But the product itself is good and hopefully will slways be without the vitamins D as I can't have Vitamin D. I have to take 6 of these a day so you can see it gets expensive fo me.

not happy with all the additives in this new calcium citrate 1000
26 August 2020

The "new" calcium citrate 1000 has many more ingredients than the old one (only had two.) I will look for another brand now, that does NOT have the extra ingredients. I suggest you return to the original formulation. This is also happening with other products I have purchased from GNC and I will be looking for another company for them too. I've been a loyal customer for way over 20 years, too bad you have decided to "fix" things that were not broken!
