Excellent flash for Sony A7r3. TTL is very accurate. Battery charges very quickly and has a fast recycle time. Fires every time. Easy to use. Will be buying another one soon and the Xpro controller.
Took me a while to get it to work with my panasonic GX8, as it turns out you cant have your camera on silent mode for TTL to work, that aside and the 4aas lasting only 200 shots this is a great flash, it works well and quickly given its cost, throw in defusers and filters in the box, solid build quality and good range make it a bit of steel. Dislikes; its a bit big and heavy on a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) camera especially as the GX8 i have is one of the largest and heaviest (MFT) it would be a bit silly on a smaller camera that said I brought this for a friends wedding and it worked nearly as good as the pros flash so all in all I really recommend this flash gun and at a 1/3 of the cost of a Panasonic or Olympus versions great value too.
I hadn't had a dedicated flash for many years, but they sure have made them better. I just got this recently and so I haven't used it too much, but I like what I see. I'm beginning to appreciate that I can make better photographs with this.
Works well on Micro Four Thirds and manual mode on Leica. Simple user interface. Well built, very solid, a bit stiff to start with but as used movement is more fluid. Metal hot shoe - some major brands have plastic, HSS simple to use and acfivate
Much better than my Fuji ef-42 which stopped working even though it had very little use. The Godox seems much more solidly built and has a metal shoe rather than the plastic one on the Fuji. The only disadvantage is that it is quite big, about the size of a Canon 580 and looks rather out of proportion on a Fuji XE-2. However, as it works well that is something I am quite happy to go along with. The operating program seems easier than the Fuji. The fact that it can be used as a slave flash set up is a bonus but I would have purchased it even without that feature.

I opted for the TT685C rather than the more expensive V860II-C as its essentially the same product but it takes 4X AA batteries rather than a Li-on battery. I am used to AA batteries in my previous flashes so I didnt see it as a shortfall. When you first unbox the item you will feel how sturdy it is. It has a good weight to it and it exudes quality. The movement of the head is quite stiff but still smooth so not a complaint, it's quite nice and when used in conjunction with a S-type bracket it means you can position the LCD screen to face you and it stays in position. I wanted multiple speedlites to set up a small studio with limited room and it was going to cost me well over 1000 to upgrade my Canon equipment. I was so impressed with this flash I ended up purchasing 2x TT685C, 2x TT600C (a TT685C without TTL) and a Godox XPro-C 2.4G E-TTL Wireless Flash Trigger. There are plenty of youtube videos which tell you how to sync them all and I was up and running within an hour. I could not be happier with my purchases, they work brilliantly and the build quality is far higher than I was expecting. I know this review is about the TT685C but I also love how interchangeable all the Godox kit is. I added 4 Godox Softboxes with their S-type brackets which hold the Speedlites. For less than the price of one Canon Speedlite, I have a full four-light wireless set up with multiple attachments and plenty of room to adapt my set up for all occasions.
When I first got this flash it worked very well. I did two things that really boosted the performance. First, NiMH Batteries. This really boosts the recycling. Not quite as good as the Li-Ion version. Nor as an external pack. But it terms of economics and usefulness, IMHO, you can't go wrong with the NiMH batteries powering this flash. Using the Godox X 2.4GHz radio system, full dedication is maintained when the unit is off-camera. With a firmware update, this becomes cross dedication. It doesn't matter what camera system you use as long as the trigger is dedicated to your system. The flash can be mounted on the camera hotshoe and has a dedicated foot for that purpose. The pack comes with a shoulder strap, but Godox do make a clamp that fits to a stand, that you can slot the battery pack into. Shooting outdoors, this will provide very good coverage and can give some very good pop to your shots. The outfit that I bought was superb, both in content and value. As well as the flash unit, battery and reflector dish, the kit also included: Y cable, 18" Octabox with beauty dish, and grid; coloured filters to fit in the reflector; protection tube for the lamp, wide-angle diffuser dome and the X1-T radio trigger. Superb value. I am a fan of Godox gear and have quite a bit of it. Absolutely superb stuff
