Godox is quickly climbing to the top of the photo and video market and are establishing themselves as a top tier brand. They make very nice equipment and this new flash trigger is just proof of that! Very cool, albeit a smaller than expected device. Very high tech and very simple to use. All touchsceen. Works well and communicates with godox flashes. 5 stars!

I have two other Godox Xpro flash triggers for my Nikon and Panasonic cameras, but they have lots of buttons so changing settings can be slow and a pain on studio nights at the photography club. I wanted the new X3 with its touch screen because it is far quicker to change settings and the menu layout is much better and easier to set up. It took about two minutes to go though all the settings and set it ready to use without looking at the instructions. Its just like using your mobile phone, its that easy to use.

A great step to embracing OLED and future tech.

I've shot with the X-Pro S for a few years now and it's great. As soon as I saw this X3 Trigger on PixaPro's Instagram for pre-order, I dived straight in to purchase it.I've used it a few times now and its seamless, small and doesn't take up hardly any space in the camera bag. It did come in Chinese but a simple setting in the language got me to English in seconds.I like the touch screen and the ability to increase flash power with a slide of your finger and individual or as a group. The updating process seems very simple to do and I look forward to future updates.I'm keen to see if Godox and PixaPro embrace the OLED touch screens built into their flashes next.Would recommend for anyone :)

Better than I was hoping for.

I was concerned when these were announced. The use of a rechargeable battery that takes 2hours to recharge…what happens if it dies during a shoot? Would I need to carry an AA back up option?Well they finally arrived and after a quick charge we were off. After a handful of jobs over about a week, I’d managed to get 27 hours of shooting time out of one charge nearly 3000 flashes and it only missed a handful. I’ve quickly got used to the interface and am moving around it quickly. I really like that you can not only turn of groups but you can also remove them from the screen if your not using them. Making for a much cleaner interface. I will absolutely be updating the studios triggers with more X3 as and when I need to.

Does the job
25 September 2024

I have used this trigger on Hasselblad cameras (Nikon). The trigger works well with no glitches, however, with the screen being so small I found myself using the scroll wheel for all the adjustments and I do not have big hands. If the screen was slightly larger, then I could make use of the touchscreen. I can't say anything about the battery life yet as after two shoots with it, there is still a good battery level left.

No high speed synch setting
23 August 2024

I like the ease of use and the bright LCD which makes this trigger much easier to read outside or inside. It weighs a lot less on my camera so that's a plus too. The downside is that it is wireless charging so once the lithium battery dies, there's no way, that I can see, to replace it so then you just have to throw the unit away and get a new one. The manual says the battery lasts 2-3 years. That seems wasteful to me. I'd rather just keep buying batteries. The other inconvenience is that the Fuji trigger does not have the high speed synch option in the settings because you have to set it on your camera. Boo! Here's a link on the Fuji website that explains it: https://fujifilm-x.com/en-us/series/lighting-masterclass/get-the-look-high-speed-sync/

But there is a tactile knob for more precise tuning. The menus are a bit more complicated and changing settings definitely takes longer than on my xpro. Not a big deal, but I wish it had a switch instead of a push (and wait) button. The WYSIWYG function in modern mirrorless cameras means I'm frequently shutting off the trigger to get ambient exposure feedback in the finder.I'm split on the internal battery. On one hand it saves space but my absolute biggest grip with the entire godox/flashpoint ecosystem is how absolutely horrible their batteries (with the exception of the ad200/300 batteries) are. Only time will tell if the xnano's internal battery will be a liability. For me, just based on size alone, I'm a fan...so far.

[Rewarded Review] Perfect for the Fuji X100 cameras
31 July 2024

I got this primarily for my X100V. Not only is it perfect in the size, but, I easily control the wheel on the right side of the trigger and change the power on the fly.I was wondering today if maybe they kept the price low so that when the battery dies it won’t be too painful to get a replacement.

[Rewarded Review] Why this is my favorite trigger
28 June 2024

If you have a godox flash or system, and want a compact and intuitive trigger, look no further. I have been using Fuji x100 series cameras for years with the X2 trigger, but find the screen on the X2 harder to see especially out side, for these old eyes. This new x3 is nice and bright, easy to install and much more compact. If you like an iPhone and/or are familiar with their touch screens, you will feel right at home. Also the rechargeable battery last a long time, but so did the X2's AA's. In a nut shell, I believe it is worth the upgrade.

[Rewarded Review] Works way better than my old Godox trigger
29 June 2024

My old trigger from Godox was heavy and constantly had connection issues while it was attached to my camera. So I was excited to see this lighter, smaller version because I hoped it would improve on this...and it did! It takes a little getting used to the interface, but they do a good job of giving you a tutorial on the basics when you start it up. I need to use it more to be able to speak on long-term reliability/stability. But I love it!
