Golden High Flow Acrylic Paints 118ml Permanent Violet Dark (S7)
GOLDENs High Flow Acrylic Paint line is a high viscosity line allowing for both high levels of detail as well as covering large amounts of surface space. By formulating their High Flow acrylics with flow improvers, film levelers and retards, allows GOLDEN to develop such a thin, free-flowing product. Although GOLDENS High Flow line is thinner than most traditional formulas, they are still extremely versatile ranging from use in fine-line work, spraying and airbrush applications, as well as pen and ink techniques. This GOLDEN acrylic line is formulated with 100% polymer dispersion technology, giving artists a reliably durable layer, with significant resistance to water and other chemicals. Due to the thin nature of GOLDENs High Flow Acrylics some separation and settling will happen so be sure to shake thoroughly prior to use to ensure desired results are achieved.

Amazing product! As a retired art teacher; I was unaware ofthis product. I signed up for a bird painting class on line with thethe instructor from the Ornithological society. She was requesting that we use the ‘flow’ acrylics. I was pleased at how well they worked. I will continue using this product that I purchase at Michaels. They have a great supply at good price points.

After reading up on this paint a little I picked some up to try. Airbrushes great! Nice coverage, highly pigmented, and very smooth. You can thin it to extend it and it still covers nicely. I used the Golden Airbrush Medium and had no problems at all. My only complaint is that it is a gloss paint. I wish it came in flat or even a satin but it's not hard to work around. It takes a matte acrylic finish without yellowing or losing depth of color. I love this paint!

I've always liked using Golden High Flow Acrylics as my auxiliary/mixing companion to Holbien acrylic Gouache. Their high pigment compliments Holbien's well and thins it out a bit making both stretch a bit. I decided to check out Golden's light green as an understudy/mixing paint for Holbien's Leaf Green and I'm so glad I did! It doesn't quite have that electric quality Holbien has but it's super rich, bright and easy to work with. Perfect for my purposes, a new staple for the palette.

Its fun to just drip the paint directly on the surface for easy backgrounds or underpaintings. Use a small palette with wells to blend colors. I've used these paints for 5 portraits now. The thinness of the paint makes it easier to use than heavy body acrylic with small brushes for details. For mixed media applications a very thin layer of either clear sanded gesso or Golden Fluid Matte Medium works great to create tooth for colored pencil finishing touches.Pro: Easy to use, blend well, stay wet long enough to allow blending. Great for details using small brushes. Very little wasted paint. Easy to make custom paint colors with the High Flow Medium and liquid pigment dispersions.Con: Since they do have a bit of retarder in them you do need to wait 10-15 minutes to ... MoreIts fun to just drip the paint directly on the surface for easy backgrounds or underpaintings. Not a big deal especially since it gives time for blending when compared to regular instant drying acrylic paint.
I needed to paint rail on a client's HO model railroad. Specialized Model paint vendors charge $3 for a 17ML bottle of "Rail Brown" but if you compare, it's Burnt Umber. Golden is a quality supplier of acrylic airbrush paints (flows well at 20 lbs, fine pigment size) and Blick's offers 16 OZ delivered for about $40, enough for several large railroads! I've been using an Iwata HP-CS and one of the new lithium battery powered handheld brushes and both are working great with the Golden High Flow Acrylic. A few minutes matching colors will pay big dividends!
I started using high flow for airbrushing when I was a printer. Now that I am painting on canvas, I enjoy high flow when starting an abstract painting when making rough lines and shapes. For when I want to add a touch of colour to a mix or directly on the canvas, it blends with ease. And sometimes I splash it directly on the painting as an underlay or finishing touch.
Highly pigmented, a little goes a long way. I use it on yupo paper, with a technique similar to alcohol inks, as well as on canvas. High flow acrylics are great for glazes, without losing the intensity of the pigment. I tried the fluorescent colors as well, but the quality is not as high (turned milky after a while). I recommend high flow acrylics for mixed media projects.
Golden fluid/high flow acrylics are extremely concentrated and are as lightfast as mineral pigments. Easy to work with in watercolor/acrylic techniques such as resists and wet in wet, they have been my first choice for many years. I waited for the anthraquinone blues to return after supply chain issues held them up. The indigo is a terrific addition to my palette for this series.
Used for refilling a Montana Marker. I wanted to mix my own color and thought it would be cheaper. There is not enough pigment to refill one medium marker, it’s too thin/low viscosity. Would not rebuy. Also, cheaper everywhere but Micheal’s so would not buy from Micheal’s again.
These high flow acrylics are the business!!! They have a great shelf life and work well in pretty much all airbrush machines! Since using this product I haven’t had a need to stray anywhere else. Oh and availability!!! They’re sold at all of the major arts and craft stores! That includes Amazon! Not like the others that you have to play a Squid game to find. Last not but least Golden High Fluid Acrylics have an array of vibrant colors available.Definitely check out this brand. You won’t regret it.Signed a seasoned/professional artist
