I want to start out by saying that I received a free bottle of this to review, and my oh my am I happy I did! The bottle is absolutely adorable, but more so, the perfume smells amazing! It is a creamy floral scent that is a little bit sweet, but not overly so. I believe it falls into the chypre olfactory family, with top notes of bergamot and bitter almond, middle notes of ylang ylang and rose, and base notes of vanilla and patchouli. While I immediately pick up on the vanilla, is is more of a creamy vanilla scent. As I am usually not into sweet scents, I am pleasantly surprised that the sweetness isn’t overwhelming here and it just adds a rich creaminess to the otherwise mainly floral composition of the fragrance. While it is described as having orange mandarin notes in it, too, my nose is not quite able to pick that out - I’m mainly just getting a floral and creamy fragrance that has some depth to it. Since this is a flanker of Good Girl Blush, I’m gonna draw some comparisons for those of you that already know it and are curious about how the Elixir differs. When looking at the notes, the main difference is that the peony has been swapped with rose, and tonka bean with patchouli. Personally, I have a hard time picking out the specific notes, though, and actually feel like the original blush might have more of a rosey smell than Elixir to my nose. I feel like the Elixir version is creamier, so maybe the vanilla is amped up a little but it also smells “deeper”, in a sense, and I think that may come from the patchouli. I feel like the original Blush is fresher in almost a “soapy” way to me, so maybe that’s where I’m also associating it more with a rosey smell, as a lot of rosey smells tend to smell on the soapy side to me. It is by no means meant in a bad way - it just smells more fresh and clean, and maybe a bit powdery, too. That being said, once they dry down, they are very similar on the skin and it gets harder to pick out the differences. While Blush is an excellent summer and day-time scent, I feel like the Elixir version is like a darker, night-time version of Blush - good for a night out or for cold weather months. I would say that Blush Elixir is slightly more complex and has more depth, while Blush is more simple and fresh. The longevity of the Good Girl Blush is also amazing on me. I wore it on a night out and could still smell it on me the next morning when I woke up! That’s 10+ hours of wear on skin alone, and probably even longer on clothes. The perfume also atomizes out of the bottle in beautiful mist, so overall I am very impressed with this olfactory experience.

This perfume is luxurious, so you will spend money on it. But the packaging, smell, and longevity truly make this a worthy investment in my opinion.

I love Carolina Herrera’s original fragrance, so I was super excited to try her new fragrance in Blush for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review!This reinterpretation is definitely more sensual than her most popular Good Girl scent. The top notes of Bergamot and Bitter Almond really shine through when you first spray it. As it develops it starts to reveal a bit of Peony and Ylang-Ylang, and when it settles you can smell the base notes of Vanilla, but not in a sweet way. To me, it definitely gives more of a mature, warm, floral scent.It’s a very wearable perfume for any age group. I am so picky about perfumes and I can not stand most of them. I have been on the lookout for my signature scent forever, and I found it in this. I love the pink/black/gold colour combo and the high heeled shoe for a bottle is just genius. It's nice to have something fun and different on the shelf instead of just a regular bottle. It was a little tough at first to get the lid off, I was afraid that I might snap the heel but once I got it off it was smooth sailing the next few times.I do not have a nose like my husband who can pick out every note in a fragrance. I found the flower scent to be overpowering for my taste and wish that it had been a little softer. I find when you first apply it is too much but after about 45 minutes its a more bearable scent.
