While it may not compete with high-end speakers, it delivers clear and balanced sound for everyday use. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. At times, voice recognition can be slightly finicky, especially in noisy environments. Additionally, the integration with some third-party apps could be more extensive. In summary, the Google Home Mini is a fantastic addition to the home, making managing various tasks much easier. Despite a few minor drawbacks, I'm highly satisfied with its overall performance. Plus, the charcoal color is a real standout. I highly recommend the Google Home Mini to anyone looking to make their home smarter and more interactive.

The Google Home Mini is a small, smart speaker that can do a lot of things. It's very easy to set up and use, and it's surprisingly powerful for its size. The sound quality is decent for its size, but it's not going to replace a full-sized speaker system. One of the best things about the Google Home Mini is that it's integrated with Google Assistant, which is an AI-powered personal assistant that can help you with a wide range of tasks. You can use it to check the weather, set reminders, play music, and control smart home devices. You can also use it to make phone calls, send messages, and even order food. Some people might be uncomfortable with this, but you can always mute the microphone if you don't want it to listen. Overall, I think the Google Home Mini is a great device for anyone who wants a smart speaker that can do a lot of things without taking up too much space. It's not perfect, but it's definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a smart speaker.

I also use it in my bedroom for playing rain sounds when I'm trying to sleep, and for turning on/off the aircon, bedroom TV (with a Chromecast connected) and the living room TV (with Xbox Series S connected). You can use it to pause media playing on a TV too, but it is a bit slow so you're better off using a remote. Your mileage may vary. It's a nice, unassuming little device with pretty good sound quality for its size. You can have it wake you up in the morning to Taylor Swift!Again, maybe wait for this to be on sale or to come down in price. Also don't use this with a power adapter or USB cord other than the one it comes with in the box; I have had one of these refurbished before and it came with a 3rd-party charging cable which made it practically useless - constantly crashing/rebooting because it can't draw enough power. This has never happened once in the week I have owned this one, with it's appropriate Google charging cable.Solid product, a little slow, cute colours though!

My morning routine now commences with, "Hey Google, play some light jazz," and it fills my home with soothing melodies as I prepare for my day. The Google Home Mini’s ability to integrate with other smart home devices is a game-changer. With a simple voice command, I can adjust the thermostat, dim the lights, or even check who’s at the front door. It feels like I'm living in the future! The reason I'm holding back that final star? Well, every now and then, the Mini seems to have a mind of its own - not recognizing a command or misinterpreting what I say. Also, while it's great for general queries, it sometimes struggles with more complex questions. Despite this, my Google Home Mini has become an integral part of my routine. It reminds me of appointments, helps me with recipes, and even tells me the weather before I step out each morning. It's like having my own personal assistant. To sum it up, the Google Home Mini, with its Charcoal appeal, its versatility, and the convenience it offers, deserves a strong four stars. It's a compact smart speaker that punches above its weight, and despite a few quirks, it's a device I've come to rely on every day.

Moral of this story....DON'T BUY A TV THAT HAS GOOGLE TV BUILT INTO IT. Live and learn.

I needed a new wireless Bluetooth speaker so I decided to impulsively by this at the checkout counter of a home depot of all places. I needed a new Bluetooth speaker so I decided why not try one of those new smart speakers. I was surprised to see that it in fact is not wireless at all! I guess I should not have so impulsively bought this before looking into that, and yes I know a company sells a wireless adapter for this. My other gripe is that I’m mostly using it as a Bluetooth speaker and yet this feature hardly ever works. It constantly disconnects from my iOS devices and then when I try to re-pair my phone to the speaker it will then tell me that it can not currently pair the device and to try again later? It constantly disconnects from my iOS devices and then when I try to re-pair my phone to the speaker it will then tell me that it can not currently pair the device and to try again later? I was going to just return it because it doesn’t seem to do what I need it to do on a consistent regular basis. However I foolishly lost the receipt. The only thing I will say is that the sound isn’t too bad when it does pair and play. Another thing that I dislike is unlike Amazon’s Alexa which you can ask for specific songs and it will play them, the nest doesn’t work like this unless you have to have a Spotify premium account maybe? But, for example I’ll ask for a specific say Beatles song and it will start playing a Spotify playlist related to the Beatles (similar 60’s British groups), which means it will basically play everything but the Beatles! I literally listened to 7 songs in a row that were you guessed it not the Beatles. So this thing is pretty much a stop/start voice activated control remote control for existing playlists that you’ve already created, it won’t play specific songs, and it will read news headlines, weather and can even tell kids bedtime stories. It is a 360 degree sounding speaker similar in sound to the jbl that is shaped almost identical, however I think that the google speaker actually throws a bit more volume. Just wish it worked more consistently and came wireless from the get go.
