Google Pixel 5 (5G) 128GB Black - As New - Refurbished

With a heavy heart I must say the pixel 5 is meh at best. I'm coming from a pixel 2 xl and gifted my wife the pixel 3A. Both phones are superior to this. Perhaps not in terms of performance but in terms of features. Yes this phone is indeed the last of the figure print reader since the pixel 6 as of now doesn't have the in back reader ( fingers cross for the pixel 6a for having a finger print reader on the back). The lack of the squeeze to launch google assistant is a big negative for me since I loved that activating it that way. Only reason I upgraded to the pixel 5 is that sadly my pixel 2 xl camera stopped working. The screen color to me at least is much better and even the hapic feedback is much better on the 2xl. The call quality is better on older models since the 5 use vibration for the ear piece (there is no speaker on the top part of the phone, it uses some vibration to mimic it. Cool idea but as I said it's perfect). If at full volume it's pretty much speakerphone. In the end I rather use a slower pixel 2 xl then this. I love pixel but haven't jumped on the 6 due to the lack of both back finger print reader and the squeeze function.Google I wish you made the five great but it ended up being meh in the end. The type for a has a headphone jack but this one doesn't so everything you have to use is either Bluetooth compatible or you have to get a stupid dongle in order to just use headphones. When this last system update just came out they put the do not disturb button on the top five buttons that could be accessible when you scroll from the top down, well while I was on vacation apparently that button had gotten tapped and for 3 days I wasn't getting notifications... Just a bad phone

"Manufacturer Defect"- Class Action Lawsuit coming

Phone stopped working. Took it to a repair store. Repair store said "It's manufacturer defect. We've seen this a lot lately. Send it to Google and they will repair because they are trying to save face with them having made so many defective phones." I talk to Google. They say "We can fix it, just send us some info." I send them the info and wait TWO WEEKS for a reply. They reply and say "We cant fix it, take it back to Asurion and they will fix it." I go to Asurion, they say "We can't fix it, we were told by Google themselves to not repair this model anymore." I contact Google and they tell me I can take it to any Asurion to repair it. So as of now I have a phone that is broken by no fault of mine, but also no way to repair it. Repair stores wont touch the thing. ... MorePhone stopped working. Took it to a repair store. If you bought one, get ready for the class action lawsuit because its coming.

I Had To Upgrade My Mothers Phone So I Searched And Found You. [It Was For Her Birthday , She Is 82.] I Wanted The Google Phone Because It Would Be Easier To Teach Her How To Use It. Not Only Did You Send Me A Great Phone At A Great Price But You Got It To Me A Week And A Half Earlier Then Expected.. I Love It When A Company Does What They Say They Will. Good phone. Google just needs to fix a few things.

It's a good phone but Google dropped the ball on a few things. The stupid side swipe for the back function is absolutely menacing to try to get to work. There has to be a better way that can be integrated into the phone. The newest android update is where most of my other complaints come. It was supposed to be one of the biggest updates in years and if anything it seemed like mostly a step backwards. The second biggest gripe I have is I use Chromecast as my primary media streaming device for my TVs and them taking away the functionality to change the volume with the volume controls on the side of the phone is absolutely insane. Other then that the functionality is butter smooth and it's so close to being a great phone. Nice SFF phone!

I am replacing my old Pixel 3 with this Pixel 5. Small Form Factor is what I like, slightly larger than the Pixel 3 makes this sized right for me. Pixel cameras have always been awesome, this one is very good and it uses multiple lens like more modern phones. Although, I had a original Pixel XL with a single lens camera and that was the best ever. The Pixel 5 battery life is way better than the Pixel 3, not days long like the newer Samsung models, but the 5 battery life is very usable throughout the day without worry to find a place to charge. Some people don't like the plastic material used for the back of the phone, without a case it is easy to grip but I typically use skin type cover so the phone material doesn't matter to me. On Amazon, the price is about $100 more for the same condition without a warranty. The condition itself could be been rated "excellent". No scratches on the screen or on the body of the phone. One thing, this phone may have had a nano coating on the screen, when I first received it and cleaned it, you could see the where the screen was swiped, I've experienced this before and I use Flitz polish. It removed the remaining nano coating and the screen is perfect with no scratches. I then put a soft screen saver as I like these the best. I am very happy with my purchase and would not hesitate to purchase from the vendor or Ebay again.

Paid for a Google Pixel 5, got a Ogle Xle 5.....

As the title states, only purchase this product, if you are okay with buying a car that you can only see out of 66% of the time. They say Edge to Edge Display but block out a large majority of it most of the time, and refuse to fix it. Let me rewind here a bit. I purchased the Pixel 5 after getting rid of a financed Samsung S20 Plus at a ($$$)loss to me, due to the fact that Samsung has now started selling every part of the OS as an AD space (As if $1200 wasn't good enough) and you MUST use all of their apps, or want to deal with having to reset your default apps after every single update. You aren't getting an edge to edge display at any point while using this device(or the 4a/4a-5G ). They even advertise this feature with their own services and it doesn't work, just Google ("Pixel 5 Stadia") and you'll find a video of the Stadia (Google Gaming Service) being advertised on the Pixel 5 in fullscreen regardless of the camera cutout, in a true edge to edge manner. Personally I don't use this service but it is just an example of how they advertise the device, then when it doesn't actually work this way and are contacted or called out on it. They REFUSE to build any sort of feature to allow you to use 100% of the screen you paid for 100% of the time. They then place blame on all of the application developers. Plus, have seemingly thrown a tech tantrum and conveniently "broken/bugged" the fix that all other manufactures typically use to get this to work. Sorry, but as someone from this realm there is no possible way for a small time developer to feasibly develop an app now without having access to every single device out there. Google has now cutoff development from the individual by placing an immense cost to you. You could forgo this feature, but your application is just going to end up looking antiquated and honestly will not perform well on the Google Play Market. Personally when I purchase a product, I look at every spec and feature, I also look at how they are advertised. If something doesn't do EXACTLY as shown when advertising a product(Okay I get it, it is marketing and they tell kids their toys are going to fly but tech products are shown as a daily user type view) the product is a no go for me. Clearly just using marketing to sell a product no one will return, but guess what people....... in this day and age we have consumer protection laws, so if you can in your area, return this product if your are even 1% unhappy with it. A multi-billion dollar company needs to start learning, cutting corners and just trying to say their product does this and that without actually delivering...... is not going to cut it anymore. You do have options out there, both in the ways of hardware, but also software. Look elsewhere for search engines, look elsewhere for phones, lets start to vote these manufactures out of the spotlight, and vote the only way they will understand, your wallet. Oh yeah, just one last thing, the earpiece speaker actually sucks as bad as every youtuber says it does.

Extremely poor reliability for both Pixel 5 and Google Fi with it. Calls drop, sounds like you are in a cave, phone is buggy. I have to restart the phone almost every day for it to connect to any wifi service and if you are not on wifi on Google Fi then you have very little chance of being able to use the phone reliably. Constant issues with apps closing out, not being able to access apps unless restart phone as well. A good example of this is this morning the phone was frozen for over an hour, just froze on black screen with battery percentage on it. Problem was I had a flight and needed my boarding pass on the app. Couldn't get it as the phone was not operational. Just a poor product, and customer service had not been any help with any of these numerous issues as they continue to blame to apps. According to customer service every app on my phone is the issue and not the phone itself. Sounds unlikely to me. I carry my old pixel 3 with me still because there are so many issues with the pixel 5. I will be cancelling Google Fi and moving away from Pixel. I just can't recommend it to anyone.

The Pixel line has had a somewhat troubled history, but I think Google has made a wise decision in chasing value as opposed to industry-leading specs. While the Pixel 5 doesn't pack the latest processor, its performance is unquestionably more than capable for most users. The simplicity of the software combined with the 90 Hz display makes the Pixel 5 feel fluid and fast in everyday use. After the dismal battery life of the Pixel 4 lines, Google has sported the Pixel 5 with a much larger battery that, combined with the mid-range processor, makes this phone leave any battery life concerns in the past. While I liked face unlock with the Pixel 4, I find the fingerprint sensor on the Pixel 5 to be fast and accurate and, if I am going to use a fingerprint sensor, I much prefer it to be located on the back of the device rather than embedded in the screen (I actually miss LG's old approach of integrating the fingerprint sensor with the power button on the back of the phone). Not surprisingly, the camera is still impressive although, admittedly, the camera is one of the lowest priorities on a smartphone for me; But, if a good camera is a priority for you, you'll find it on the Pixel 5. The phone's design is a bit uninspired and utilitarian but, slap one of Google's nice fabric cases on it and the phone gets some personality. The screen is excellent - minimal bezels with a small hole punch camera on the left. Sound on the Pixel 5 is a bit underwhelming, and this is likely due to there being no true top speaker (google uses the screen itself as a speaker, much like LG did with the LG G8). Call clarity is perfectly fine, but music can sound a bit muffled - this is not a big deal for me because I used wireless headphones 99% of the time I listen to music. If you are looking for the latest hardware and top of the line specs, the Pixel 5 is not for you; but, if you are looking for an unparalleled software experience wrapped in a manageable form factor, the Pixel 5 is definitely worth a look.

Worst phone I've ever owned, despite also being the most expensive phone I've ever owned. Feels shoddy and low quality compared to much, much cheaper Motorola phones I've owned in the past. Seriously, Google - you're how many generations deep into your flagship phone, and you don't even have a gesture for opening the flashlight? Terrible interface for the camera - very difficult to access controls for things like flash or continuous shooting compared to other camera apps. The assistant is garbage, and almost never gets my questions correct the first try, and yet makes me screw around with waiting and then pressing an extra button to get to the actual Google results so that I can see the actual correct answer. And on the subject of Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi calling is always messing up, with people unable to hear me at all. The settings app is completely worthless - I can never find anything in the search menu, and it's not organized intelligently or intuitively enough for me to find anything without a lot of research and poking around. I have had this phone going into sleep mode while navigating on the maps app multiple times. The fingerprint sensor messes up constantly. "Not recognized. Not recognized. Not recognized." It doesn't matter how hard you try to keep the phone from locking itself, it will lock itself, and it will fight to stay locked at odd and random times.The battery life is pretty decent, which is literally the only thing that keeps me from spiking this phone into the dumpster. Don't get me wrong though, the temptation has been there many, many times.I can never seem to get the volume to act the way that I want it to - It suddenly gets very loud for no apparent reason, or very quiet for no apparent reason. I try to mess with the volume mixer to get things right, but I can never seem to succeed... Maybe I'm just not intelligent enough to comprehend Google's superior audio design "vision."The side swipe motion gesture to go back seems like an okay idea on paper, but tends to clash with other apps and web pages. I still haven't gotten completely used to it after many months of using the phone. Bad design decision.In their attempts to streamline everything and emulate Apple, Google has lost all of the advantages that they once had over Apple. I have learned my lesson, and will not buy a phone designed by Google again. This thing isn't worth $700 - It hardly feels like it's worth $70. Reading this review, I imagine some people will conclude that with a laundry list of issues this long, I may have simply gotten a defective phone. I would contend that this wide range of issues is only possible with severe design oversights - there are simply too many problems in too many different areas for the issues to be common to one hardware defect. To me, It feels like the problem comes from the software design, as well as bad or non-existent QA. I bought this phone at launch and have been using it ever since, and I don't want to make it sound like it's broken - I don't get the impression that this phone has any actual manufacturing defects, but the overall user experience has been absolutely awful!Final note - I dictated most of this review with speech to text, and it is bonkers how many words it gets wrong compared to cheaper phones on older versions of Android. And when it gets a word wrong, it gets it wrong in a way that I can't even comprehend - such glaring, bizarre lingual mistakes that I actually marvel at how bad it is. What is Google doing?
