The Pixel 8a is an excellent overall offering from Google in the mid-range sector of the industry. With an all-day battery, a wide range of great performance features and minimal detractors, this phone makes for a very easy recommendation as the best among its competition. The 8a is designed well, with round corners and a prominent camera housing. The “Aloe” green color looks great and is a fun addition to a smartphone world full of dull colors. While I didn’t find the materials and finish exactly like a flagship phone, it comes close, and the build quality is great for the price point. As for the part of the phone you’ll be looking at the whole time, the 8a delivers with an impressive OLED display, complete with a high refresh rate (up to 120 hz), vibrant yet ... The “Aloe” green color looks great and is a fun addition to a smartphone world full of dull colors. While I didn’t find the materials and finish exactly like a flagship phone, it comes close, and the build quality is great for the price point. As for the part of the phone you’ll be looking at the whole time, the 8a delivers with an impressive OLED display, complete with a high refresh rate (up to 120 hz), vibrant yet balanced colors, and the ability to get bright enough while out in the sun. The screen is on the smaller side in today’s age of giant screens, with thicker bezels that make it easier to notice. However, the 8a screen’s vibrance and fluidity make it as enjoyable a panel as any I’ve gotten to use.A not-so-hidden secret of the Pixel line is the quality of the cameras, and the 8a is no exception. A combination of a good set of camera sensors and the phone’s Tensor G3 chip allow for some great software tricks and put this phone’s camera setup among the very best in the industry, no matter the price range. This is especially true in the photo department, where Google’s image processing shines brightest, delivering, some of the sharpest, best colored, most accurate shots out there. On the video side of things, the phone is less impressive than with its photos, and it’s camera hardware differences from the “Pro” are more discernible. However, I find it still has the ability to take videos comparable to what you get in more expensive phones. All in all, the 8a’s camera package packs a punch way above its price range.Part of what makes the cameras performance so well is Google’s use of various software and AI tricks. Color correction, editing and audio features ensure that the Pixel is always delivering the best videos and images possible. These advantages exist outside of the camera system as well, with very smart search functions, and the best live speech recognition and transcription I’ve used on any phone, including during phone calls and voice memos. Google is also shipping the phone with its new Gemini AI, an assistant well on its way to being much more powerful than assistants like Siri, Alexa, etc. The Pixel line just has features other phones don’t have, keeping afloat its standing as having the smartest phones in the industry. There just might not be a better overall package in the segment. Throw in Google’s 7-years of software updates, plus the frequent discounts, and the Pixel 8a has everything to be the perfect smartphone for the money.

Some people may use their phone more than others. The camera is fantastic I love it. The colors pop and images are very detailed. Performance of the phone is overall very good. As a decades-long iPhone user and former BlackBerry user, it was a hard sell to convert me to Google Pixel. But the CAMERA!! I immediately tested each mode and setting on the same object, then tested my current phone on the same object. The quality is crystal clear - although, the 8a only zooms to 8x. The zoom is incredible, the display is clear, and moving between modes/ apps has none of the odd lag time I’ve noticed in other phones. The phone showed up fully charged, which was nice, and with a cord and adaptor. The Aloe color is pretty and unique. The set up process was clear and had helpful tutorials, and I appreciated that they broke the legal verbiage down into easier-to-read sections. As for the phone body itself, the size is perfect for my hand - no ... MoreAs a decades-long iPhone user and former BlackBerry user, it was a hard sell to convert me to Google Pixel. But the CAMERA!! As for the phone body itself, the size is perfect for my hand - no stretching to reach each side of the screen and getting that weird pinky cramp. The semi-textured back is also helpful because I’ve noticed on previous models that the back was so slick that the phone would slide off of surfaces. Overall, a great budget-priced phone.

I am really liking this phone it is smaller yet almost as powerful as my old phone. In some aspects it is even better than my old phone however for the price of $499 I simply do not believe that this is worth it which is my biggest drawback. The camera is better and the lighting is better on the new phone but it did take me some time to get used to using this and seeing the images because my screen has a smaller resolution than my old phone. So yes in most aspects it is better than my old phone however I am missing some of the things that I could do in my old phone.I love the new AI feature said this phone have however I am not sure how much I will be using them but only time will tell as I just started using this for the last couple of weeks. I have fully transferred my phone number and is now using this phone as my everyday phone.I love the fact that it can hold two phone numbers so that I have one for me and one for my work.(Old phone was Samsung Galaxy S10+)
The Google Pixel impressed me with its sleek design and vibrant display. My favorite feature is the camera, with good lighting conditions, producing sharp and vibrant photos. The clean Android experience ensures smooth performance and timely updates. Battery life is reliable, lasting through a full day of moderate use. Google Assistant integration is very convenient. The device supports fast charging. Google Pixel offers great value with its impressive camera and seamless software experience, making it a solid choice for Android enthusiasts.
The color is beautiful! If you want a simple phone for a reasonable price, look no further. This phone fulfills a lot of the essential tasks I need. No crashes, quick and responsive, I already use a lot of Google apps so this phone just streamlined everything and the backup from my Samsung phone was so easy. The battery lasted me a whole day and would last longer without using social media. The magic eraser on photo editing is my favorite feature, although the camera isn't amazing but all the features are justified by the cost effective price tag.
A little underwhelmed. Been hanging onto my 4a for as long as possible because I like it's size. The 8a has a big megapixel rear camera which works quite well though I can't tell any difference in use or quality except you can crop quite aggressively now without the pic degrading.Friends said my voice quality during calls was a bit strange. It seems to take a long time connecting to the wifi when I get home and I've had to force it a few times, this was always seamless with the 4a.The fingerprint reader is crap and never works (this may be the OtterBox screen protector?). Facial recognition is better but not great and when it fails you're stuck trying to use the fingerprint reader. I've turned both off and only use a PIN now.
I am impressed with Google and the quality of the phones they have produced. One of my previous phones was a Motorola and the camera on it was awful! If you zoomed in even a little, the picture would be blurry. The Pixel 8a has an amazing camera, blows my old one out of the water. The photos are clear and crisp, zooming in is no problem, the editing options are phenomenal. I love the option to combine pictures if something happens (such as someone blinking). And the ability to remove background noise! The Pixel 8a is slim and lightweight but sturdy. The Aloe color is very pretty, although I usually add a case so phone color isn't very important to me. The battery life is good, no complaints! The price point seems to be average .I recently bought a Google Pixel 8 ... MoreI am impressed with Google and the quality of the phones they have produced. The Google Pixel 8A is a user-friendly phone that comes packed with convenient features. A few of my favorites include the high-resolution camera, bright display, and long battery life. The Google Pixel 8A does an excellent job of handling all of my daily tasks on a single charge. I find one of the best new features is Circle to Search because it makes online searches even easier. In addition, the phone’s matte finish and rounded corners give it a modern style that feels nice to hold and is visually appealing. Overall, 10/10 would recommend!
I received this product from Influenster and company itself in exchange for my honest review. My first impression is that the phone looks fancy and similar to iPhone 7. One thing I dislike is that the back of the phone is very slippery. I almost drop the drop couple times. The camera quality is great . The photo looks clear. The battery lasts all day long. The phone runs smooth but not very fast compared to the phone I own. Overall this phone is wonderful with great features. However it needs to improve the system to make it run faster.
