First they have taken a few steps to combat spam/robo calls, by screen and allowing you to block them with one button. I typically get 2-3 per day and the last 2 days I haven't received any. I am sure I will still get them but they seem less frequent. Second is the call notes feature, which transcribes and takes notes of the conversation. when activated, it plays a brief message that the other caller can hear letting them know the conversation is being recorded and then once the call is over you can view the notes from the call. ... I would stick with wireless charging pads that are flat!To conclude, The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a well put together and premium designed device. If its your first foldable, you will love it. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has completely reversed my disappointment for how much foldables feel like a brick. Unfolded, this device is thin, feels metallic and strong, the hinge gives you satisfying feedback when you fold it, and the screens are just right size-wise as well as in an aspect ratio sense. One of the things I have historically been disappointed with in the foldable concept is how narrow the outer screen can feel. While not unusable, a narrower screen causes things like cramped keyboards, small text, and awkward layouts. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has an outer display that is exactly the same dimensions as the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro. This means a consistent experience from a candy bar style device, and preventing a cramped feel. This was the first thing about the Pixel 9 Pro Fold that struck me as “just right”. Unfolded, the inner display is also a real sweet spot. Opening apps like a book reader, a web browser, even a music player, gives you a table experience (which I personally expect with a foldable), but in a size that is one-handable. The speakers are oriented on top and bottom in portrait (crease vertical), but they are positioned one on each half, so you have separation in portrait as well as landscape. This does give you a stereo effect which I appreciate. And the sound is solid for such a thin device. The fingerprint reader is in the lock key on the side, and have found it incredibly fast to register, and accurate everytime in the few days I have owned it. But I will say that it’s almost always face unlock that I use because it’s faster than me moving my finger to the reader. Having a history with iOS devices, this is greatly appreciated as well. The crease is impressive to me in how subtle it is considering it has to be there. The generational improvements on the foldable hinges for all of the brands is really an engineering marvel. Running my fingers across the inner display, I barely feel the crease, and when I do encounter it, it’s not jarring enough for me to pause or get disrupted. Both screens are bright, but also get incredibly dim in a dark room if needed. From an OS perspective, I have been pleasantly surprised at how beautiful and functional, and versatile, the Pixel OS is. For being the “vanilla” or near stock Android option, it is customizable and polished to the point that it rivals the more credited OS options out in the world that are refined and stable. Pixel OS gives you a personalization that I am seeing in other brand’s OS skins and that is a credit to Google. From broad Bluetooth audio codec support (aptX and LDAC) to back tap functionality, and pro camera options, Pixel OS is probably the most impressive part of this device for me. I haven’t found myself missing anything from my other devices yet, and I don’t expect to. This year the big banner feature is Gemini and the AI integration from Google. As a very amateur photographer, I usually select a device that will give me a top tier camera experience along with a very pretty and functional phone. Google’s AI tools for photography are impressive. I think there is room for growth, improvement, but to be able to stitch myself into a picture with friends is as cool as it is freaky. I am in the process of trying dark sky photography now, but initial results for a camera system that is not quite the caliber of the Pixel 9 Pro is still impressive. I think the AI and the image processing software of the Pixel OS is another level with computational photography. I think the camera system will get even better with software updates, and past performance with Google device photography has a great history to draw from. The only ding I would give the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the price. I understand that there is a lot of technology here, and this is only Google’s second iteration of a foldable (kudos to the effort, Google), but overall I think all foldables on the market are overpriced in general. So would I recommend the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold? If you are in the market for a foldable device, like the idea of a streamlined, speedy Android experience, and don’t need the pinnacle of photographic and gaming performance, I would definitely recommend this device as your daily driver.

I’m guessing this is by design as they expect the hinges to get looser over time.With the larger screen, I’ve found it enjoyable to read web articles, comics, books and to get some work done in Outlook and Teams. According to Google, this is the largest screen ever on a smartphone. For me, it’s much easier to type without error on the larger on-screen keyboard. You can use two phone apps at once, side-by-side, just like a tablet. As far as the screen’s crease, I’ve found it to only be noticeable on black or almost black content, or when viewing from an angle. Most of the time, you will not see it at all. Google also nailed transitioning from one screen the other. You'll start to do something on the outer screen, then open it up and that same app will seamlessly adapt it's content to the larger screen.Because it folds, there are five camera lenses on this device, three in the rear and both the inner and outer screen have their own. This allows the phone to do some unique tricks such as using the outer screen when unfolded to take a higher quality rear-camera selfie or use the Fold exclusive “Make You Look” feature that will distract young children to get them to look into the camera. There’s also a tabletop photo mode where you can set it on a table, get in the picture and “wave” to the phone to take the shot. My favorite is the ability for Google Translate to be able to show content on both screens in conversation mode. The person you are speaking to can easily read your translation on the outer screen and then respond in their own language which gets translated back to you on the inner screen.The Fold's rear camera array comes equipped with a 48MP Quad PD Wide lens, a 10.5 MP Dual PD Ultrawide lens, and finally a 10.8MP Dual PD Telephoto lens. While you can still capture excellent photos, these lenses are not as good as the ones found on the non-folding Pixel 9 Pro or 9 Pro XL. Those phones (and even the older Pixel 8 Pro) come with better ultrawide and telephoto lenses that sport 48 MP and Quad PD. The Fold is also limited to 4K video recording while the Pixel Pro 9 and 9 XL can shoot 8K.As far as camera features go, I was highly impressed with the macro mode, as I was able to get in very close to small objects and the Pixel was able to capture clear, in-focus photos and every grain of dust. The Night Sight feature, which allows you to take low-light photo and video was less impressive. In most comparison shots I found that I had better contrast, color and less noise on my iPhone than the Pixel. “Add Me” is a nifty feature that works but can be tricky to get people to look like they were actually near each other. The Magic Editor has a “Reimagine” feature that uses generative AI to edit your photos. If the sky in your original photo is drab, you can make it blue or add some clouds or even birds. (side note, when I tried this, it added so many birds to the sky it looked like a scene from the classic horror movie The Birds!) If the grass is dead in your backyard, you can select it and have Magic Editor Reimagine a lush green lawn. There are Magic Eraser features, which can remove people in the background of your photos or unwanted sounds like a car horn from your video. For the most part, the AI tools either work or they don’t. You can get exceptional results but then a lot of times not, or you will get weird artifacts in you photo like in one case I got a lot of extra reflections that didn’t exist on a picture of a metallic object.Battery life has been excellent so far. It comes down to whether you want to be an early adopter of the technology and if you do Google’s latest foldable is the best you can currently buy.

The screen really pops and does a good job handling all the apps, texts, and calls you think it would be able to make.- Of course the main selling point is the “unfolded” mode, and it truly shines in this format. Unfolding the phone does not feel flimsy at all but something satisfying and stable. The larger screen is immediately impressive and Google knows how to make use out of this! Particularly, you can multitask by using 2 apps at the same time which is really useful when trying to text and watch content or maybe research the internet for a recipe while you add the ingredients to your to do list. Of course, you can just use the big giant screen for one app at a time too which is beautiful!- Adding to that, there is just something so fun and satisfying to switch from the folded screen to the unfolded screen. Google provides such a seamless way to switch from one to the other, and it makes for a great ease of use. And this adds to the appeal because yes there are times when using the folded screen is just going to be more useful when my hands are full, but the flexibility of using that huge unfolded screen in certain situations is just very rewarding and makes this phone that more fun!- The cameras on the Google pixel are also all impressive. There are specs like 48 megapixels and 5x zoom, but to regular people they will just notice how crips and clear the pictures look and how you can edit and view them on that big gorgeous foldable screen. Great use for video calls or content creation too!- On top of these things, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold just does every smart phone thing really well. It’s fast, it can load up apps quickly, and Google is investing more into its Gemini AI that it increases ease of use on Google products.CONS:- Really nothing negative I can think of! I’d like to see more android support for apps that fully take control of the bigger foldable screen but across Android, iOS, and Windows some developers just do not want to make apps that work on anything besides a regular phone screen.BOTTOM LINE:- The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is simple the most excited I have been using a new smartphone in quite some time. It has a beautiful design, the screens are spectacular, it’s loaded with tons of features, has great cameras, and of course the folding design is just a game changer. Google really nailed it with their new foldable phone, and I think after using it you won’t ever want go back to the old ways of smartphones.

It's just an amazing thing and the biggest Pro and plus is the cover display most of the time as human beings. We spend our life out of the house either working and 8-hour job or doing our personal businesses on our days off, but you have a covered display that's big. It's normal. It's the size of their pixel 9 And are getting the benefits of being able to type without your fingers feeling cramped, especially when you're using a case with a big fat lip that protects the front screen. It's still easy compared to Samsung to hit the keys on the very edge. The other biggest plus is at you're getting a camera that it may not be the one on their pixel 9 Pro XL but it's a camera that most of the times I who have sharp photos side by side with both phones find that the pixel 9 Pro fold takes the edge in the videos and photos come out more beautiful than less saturated and color Samsung just needs to go back to the drawing board and design affordable that has some normal cover display cameras that are Flagship style or at least something that takes videos and photos as good as the pixel 9 Pro fold if they want to regain momentum in the market with their hardware for now the pixel 9 Pro fold was obvious choice for me and if you're on the fence go to Best Buy It's on display open it close it play with it. I know it's probably on display mode and it's not the same thing but try it out for yourself. Maybe it will convince you to buy one and to end this review. Google has a long way to go not only with their Hardware but specially with their software it is your second generation foldable and in the hardware they did a spectacularly awesome. I just hope the Implement software that allows you to have the screens separate for example, whatever you do on the cover display when it comes to customizations wallpapers widgets Etc. Let it be implemented only in the cover display and not mimic itself in the 8-inch display. They should work on their own. And again, they also need to implement great relationships with developers. So their apps can work with the screen to body ratio of Google's almost perfect square 8-in display so far. The phone has been really amazing. I love mine and I really can't point out major cons. What do I recommend the device? I totally do but like I said earlier walk to Best Buy play with it. That'll help you make your choice whether it's the device for you or not.
