This is an excellent product. I'm extremely happy with how they fit, feel, and function. They paired easily with my Google Pixel 2 XL and pair instantly when I remove them from the charging case. By the way, they easily fit back into the charging case in about 10 seconds or less. I love how you can increase and decrease the sound from the right bud. I love how you can hold down the right bud and ask Google Assistant questions. I love how you don't totally block out the outside noise as I can use them for work and still hear co-workers. I also use them for exercising and can hear a car coming up on me, which is EXTREMELY important. The Pixel Buds are a great product and I highly recommend them.

What a pathetic attempt at a Bluetooth ear bud! When these are paired with my Pixel 2,every 10-20 seconds I get the error message that Google stopped working, even after restarts. Unpaired and the problem went away instantly. If you have small ear canals these will feel big and bulky, they do not feel comfortable in the ear within minutes my ears were hurting. The sound quality was surprisingly decent but there's far better at this price point. These are also not noise cancelling either which is something you get with Bluetooth ear buds with other brands at half the cost. The touch gestures are very hit or miss, sometimes they work with what what you were trying to do but mostly not. The volume swipe is backwards, you swipe down to turn the volume up,swipe up to turn ... MoreWhat a pathetic attempt at a Bluetooth ear bud! There are upsides to these earbuds, high quality sound, great ear fit, the case fits right in your pocket and easy access to the assistant. There are more problems that make these terrible though. Now I have had these for 5 months, almost 6, and I cannot express how much I had been overlooking the flaws at the start. These are near impossible to charge. I, on average, take 5 minutes a night trying to get these to charge. It is so hard to get these to charge properly. I am getting cuts and red swelts in my ears after wearing them for two hours and I can't return these and get a refund because for the first month, I denied realizing these flaws because I tried defending these earbuds. This review is for 24 hours with them and I have to say, they are exactly what I was looking for. They are great headphones despite all the horrible reviews online. I would, however, have to agree that they are for a niche market, but if you are in that niche (like me), you will love them. Reasons you'd buy these: 1. You dislike ear canal headphones (because they are uncomfortable, are dangerous when walking around in public, etc.) 2. You dislike over-ear headphones (at least for daily use and transportation) 3. You prefer ear buds that just sit in your ear 4. You have the right size of ears for the pixel buds 5. You prefer to have the string attaching the buds (so that you can hang them around your neck or take them out without worrying about losing them) 6. You want bluetooth headphones in the first place (or because new phones are forcing you to get a pair) 7. You want to access google assistant with ease (this is seriously awesome, albeit the controls are somewhat sensitive and will take a little bit of time to get use to). 8. You want good looking and comfortable headphones. 9. You want something that fits nicely under your toque for cold days, eh. Then these are for you. Like I said, niche.
I didn't get these until Pixel Buds 2 were announced, which weren't even ready for demo at the Google Hardware event (or whatever it's called) and won't be released until next year; the design of those (the in ear canal) isn't for me (prolly would get the Samsung Wf-1000xm3's if I wanted in ear canal).I wanted earbuds I could pause and hear people talking to me without removing my earbuds. If you want noise isolation you don't want these. The sound is good, the mic is good, and the Google Assistant works amazing with these. I like the cord (for the most part) being able to take them off and hang around my neck is something I like. The battery life is great, and they charge quickly. If they had the same fit as the wired Pixel Buds I'd give them 5 stars (somehow the plastic on those feels more secure than the rubber on the wireless; I think it's probably mostly the rubberized cord on the wired one's that holds them in the ear better than the fabric on the wireless, the smaller casing prolly helps too). I didn't like paying full price for 2 year old headphones but I don't regret it at all. Definitely recommend.
The Google Pixel Buds are defiantly a purchase that isn't for everyone. HOWEVER if you are not a full fledged audiophile these buds will server your needs flawlessly. The open air design of the earbuds all but eliminates the short comings of traditional pressure design ear buds, you can talk/sing/chew and move your head without the awkward pressure on your inner ear. The cloth reinforcement method is also great, rubber hurts after an hour or so and over the ear clips are really annoying. Wearing these for 8 hours straight didn't hurt my ears at all, no pains or nasty sweat. You will be able to hear people talking to you with these in (with nothing playing) and you can feel safe in the fact that if you're walking in public or running you will still be able to hear ... MoreThe Google Pixel Buds are defiantly a purchase that isn't for everyone. You will be able to hear people talking to you with these in (with nothing playing) and you can feel safe in the fact that if you're walking in public or running you will still be able to hear your surroundings. The connecting cord is soft and flexible, its large enough to wrap around my neck (I'm 6'1" 275lbs) comfortably without constraint. The audio is a bit on the quiet side, I attribute this more to the design than the drivers in the buds. Base is clean and not overbearing, the range is amazing and the sound is overall crisp and clean. No tinny sounds associated with a lot of earbuds. They are balanced and clean, but a bit quiet at times. The microphone is clean and isolating. Standing in a crowded room the party at the other end of the line clearly heard me with minimal background noise. The bluetooth is a bit spotty at the moment but I more attribute this to my Pixel 2 XL, not so much the earbuds. Battery life is around 5-6 hours at full volume with a mix of calls and media (mostly media playback). The battery pack (case) holds about 5 full charges (25-30 hours) worth. The touch controls can be confusing at first, however once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. The notification read feature is awesome for hands free and google assistant paired with the headset is phenomenal.I'd recommend (and have recommended) these earbuds to anyone who is looking for an experience different from traditional ear buds. There are competitors that do specific areas better, but none deliver the total package better than (in my opinion) the Pixel Buds do.
I looked online at the reviews of the Pixel buds (1st gen) and they were mixed. Lots of complaints about the wires and the fit in the ears. I have no complaints. I lost my last pair of separate Bluetooth earbuds so the wires helps me keep up with them. The fit is kind of odd, using the loops in the wires to keep them in your ears but it works! Quality of sound is very good and since they are not noise cancelling you are more aware of surroundings. They pair immediately to my Pixel 4XL and I love the text, email notification features and google assistant
Not worth the full price but I got them on sale at 70$ and they are amazing at that price. The pairing was very easy on a pixel phone, all I had to do is open the case and my phone asked if I wanted to pair. They dont really go deep in the ear like other earplugs usually do so they are confortable for long period of time. They still hold very well in the ears. The audio quality is good. Sound leak in and it seems like it leaks out a bit too.The touch controls are great. You can tap to play/pause and swipe for volume up and down. When you hold your finger, it listen to you and acts as a google home so you can use it for home control, send a text or control spotify. I was excited to get a new pair of headphones. Then I got them, no instructions, but the case and box is nice. To bad the headphones only stay paired and play sound for 1 sec before disconnecting and shutting down. After they do this the head phones have to be put back in the case and have to be repaired. It does this every time. I have an Iphone. So I tried to pair them with my friends Google Pixel phone surely they would work....Nope. Not sure if they are duds but I wouldn't spending money on this one guys.
I am constantly frustrated by these earbuds.- Touch controls are too limited. I primarily listen to podcasts, so the lack of fastforward functionality really hurts-Touch controls are too sensitive. I'm constantly turning these on by accident, either in my pocket or as I am taking them off. Sometimes they turn off as I'm trying to adjust the volume- These are charged by placing them in their case, but there is no indication that they are actually receiving charge. Multiple times I've left the house with dead ear buds because, while I had placed them in their charging case the night before, somehow they never charged. They are also the least comfortable earbuds I've ever used, but that is the most subjective of my complaints.
