I'm familiar with folding phones, with my last 3 phones being the Samsung Z fold 2,3,&4. I wasn't crazy about the narrow outer screen so I thought I'd give the Pixel Fold a try. To say I hated it is an understatement. -My biggest gripe is the forced aspect ratio Google uses. Many, if not most, of my apps would not display properly. Some, only used half the screen when opened. Worse case was my security camera app, I actually could get a larger view on the closed front screen than the opened screen. Samsung is leaps and bounds above Google in this category. -the screen is incredibly dim when used in bright sunlight, to the point there were times I couldn't see it.-the phone had so many bugs it forced closed at least 5-7 times a day, often during calls. Google sent me a replacement, but I hated the phone so much I sold it since I traded a phone and Google refused to return my money.-the phone would show it was charging on a wireless charger when I went to bed and 50% of the time when I'd wake up the next day it hadn't charged at all.-after trying both layouts, Samsung's narrow when closed design is more practical. When you open the Pixel, you almost always have to turn it sideways to utilize the screen in the best aspect ration, at least the ZFold it the proper orientation when opened.-Google is one step from Apple with forcing its layout on the user. I really hated not being and to utilize the top of the home screen or being able to remove the Google Search bar from the home screen.....this is just to name a few things. I wouldn't take one of these phones again if someone gave it to me and paid me to use it! I was so glad to get rid of it. If you're looking to try a folding phone, go to the ZFold line.

Was excited on getting back to Android. Wanted to have something new and exciting, and the Pixel Fold was what I was looking for. Wasn't going to Samsung Fold, mainly didn't want Samsung's skin, and wanted the core Android experience. So the Pixel it is. Not wanting just another bar phone, so the Fold it is. I had Motorola phones before, but the Razr Plus 2023 just wasn't enough. Having a bar phone, then open up for a mini-tablet is a great concept. The Pixel Fold does all that I wanted from a smart phone. Syncs up with my "cheap" smartwatch, bluetooth connects to just about all BT devices I own without issues. Display is bright. Try on your own if you can, don't rely so much on previews of the Fold. I can see the screen just fine outdoors. Sound is loud and ... MoreWas excited on getting back to Android. Only downside, that this is still a learning curve for everyone. Not all apps takes advantage of the larger screen when opened. Hopefully the foldable screen keeps. So far, no buyers remorse. Just loving it.

After purchasing a Pixel Fold in August of last year, having it replaced in January due to a broken folding screen, and now having the replacement with another broken folding screen after 7 months, Google refuses to stand behind the product because it is out of the 1 year warranty period. I was willing to take a large hit on trading it in towards another device to get at least some sort of return, but that was turned down. I was left with, "Sorry, but too bad you've had bad luck with our product. We don't care if you don't purchase another one."Sorry Google Pixel owners, but at this point I'll be doing everything I can to steer people away from Google devices. I feel that Google should stand behind their product properly, and this is definitely not the case with this one.

I really enjoyed using the Pixel Fold up until the inside screen broke 6 months in. I opened it up and heard a cracking sound, and the screen had split right down the middle crease. Considering it's supposed to be rated at 200,000 opens and closes, I was surprised it only lasted half a year. The display turned black except for a couple of green bubbles after that. I called Google since it's still under warranty, and they advised me to take it to uBreakiFix. When I did, they wouldn't fix it there since it had "physical damage", that being the crack down the middle of the screen. I got ahold of Google again and shared my experience, and they wouldn't honor the warranty due to the same "physical damage". So essentially, the warranty is worthless even though the damage ... I've been loyal to Pixel since the first phone, which I told Google, but that didn't make a difference. Very disappointed with my Google experience.
Can't explain how bad is and how many glitches it has. Can't deposit a check with Chase app. Any other phone works fine. This one, when you want to take a picture of the check, the camera deforms the check! Yes, believe it or not, the check length magically becomes the check height and you have a deformed square that the app can't recognize. Tried everything. Tried setting up the image format on the app, on the phone, contact google, they blame the app, contact Chase, they blame the phone. And is the phone. My other phones can do it easily.Forget if you want to cast the image to another device. I tried with ROKU hundred times, the phone can not even find it. I turn on my old Samsung, and finds all my Roku ( I have 4) in a second and can cast the screen immediately. ... It ONLY finds any other Google device, like Google home. This is the worst phone purchase I ever made, this is the worst cell phone I ever had. I need to turn on my old Samsung Note 20 to perform all small easy things this useless phone can't.And there's more. Much much more little things that may seem stupid, but makes you crazy throughout the whole day and drives you to be sorry to get this phone if you ever had a Samsung prior to this one, as I always had. I had the Samsung Note 8, 10 and 20. I can't wait to finish paying this crappy phone to get ride of it and go back to Samsung. This is not a review from someone just mad who can't use a phone. I'm a programmer, and know what I'm doing. I had this phone for nine months already and with every update, I hope things get better, but is the same useless device no matter how many updates you get. DO NOT BUY. I can't say anything about other Pixel phones because I don't know them, but Pixel Fold?? FORGET IT. Most expensive and useless phone I ever ever had.
The pixel fold is my first foldable phone and I am not sure I could ever go back to the chocolate bar style. When the device is closed there is no gap to speak of and the ergonomics of it feels comfortable in the hand when closed the shape of the phone just feels familiar, in fact, I find myself not having to open my phone as much as I thought I would complete the tasks I had originally intended. The fold was easy to setup, just needed my Gmail account, and all my information populated over from my iPhone. I traded in my iPad Mini and iPhone in order to get the fold and so happy that I did.I thought that going Android would be a headache from iOS and iPadOS but it really hasn't. I have found workarounds with iMessage and Apple Pay. I like that you can still share information but the bigger files you can create a web link and the person you are sending it to can just download the content. I have been able to do some light gaming on the device with no issues, like COD and Diablo. I was able to connect my Xbox controller was able to start playing right away. The Camera has been awesome, especially in low light, my wife thinks that the photos in low light come out brighter than what she was able to take using her iPhone 14.Yes, Google is not as mainstream as Samsung, but you should not let that in the way of trying this great device. If you can get your hands on one I encourage you to buy it.
I recently had the opportunity to use the Google Pixel Fold 5G, and my experience was a mixed bag. While there were aspects of the phone that I absolutely loved, such as its size and material, I encountered some critical issues that ultimately led me to return it. The build quality is commendable, with the premium materials lending a sense of sophistication to the device. However, the euphoria quickly waned due to the device's screen issues. The front screen was a source of constant frustration. It repeatedly failed to display my open apps or spontaneously minimized applications I was using. The front screen was a source of constant frustration. It repeatedly failed to display my open apps or spontaneously minimized applications I was using. Another substantial issue I encountered was with the charging port. Initially, when I plugged in the device, it indicated that it was charging. But after a few minutes, it would inexplicably show that it was disconnected and not charging. This inconsistency in charging status left me concerned about the phone's long-term reliability and its ability to stay powered throughout the day. It's disheartening that a device with so much potential and promise falls short in crucial areas. I really wanted to like the Google Pixel Fold 5G, but the persistent issues with the front screen and the charging port ultimately forced me to return it. Google has a great concept with this phone, but it needs significant improvements in execution to compete with other flagship devices in the market.
Have had my Pixel Fold for about a month now and it's been nothing short of pleasant. Both displays on the phone are made by Samsung, so expect a pleasurable viewing experience. The inside screen has zero marks/scratches after a month of daily use. Cameras are similar to the Pixel 7 Pro, don't have any complaints what so ever here. Battery life is alright, not quite as good as modern non folding phones, but I'm still getting roughly 8 hours of screen on time per charge. With that being said, I've been able to go 40-48 hours without charging my phone on multiple occasions. Software experience is pretty light weight, no weird battery drain or preinstalled bloatware. Pixel Fold's fingerprint reader has been flawless for me, recognizes my finger every single time. 5G ... MoreHave had my Pixel Fold for about a month now and it's been nothing short of pleasant. Paired with Google Fi (T-Mobile) I've never had signal strength issues both in and out of the city. Only complaint I could give is that the speakers are a little quiet compared to non folding phones. They're good clear speakers don't get me wrong, just not super loud.
I was searching for a foldable phone when I came across the pixel fold. When Google says all-day battery life, you will get about 14 hours of light usage. And when you use the inside screen a couple of hours at best. There is no SD card slot, so if you need storage, use higher memory. Do not leave the charging cable in your car. If it gets below freezing, it will break. Bluetooth on this phone is also very finicky. It will disconnect your headphones at random times. I don't know if it's the phone or software, but it will freeze my car's stereo when I play music from time to time. Wireless charging on the phone is extremely slow and on a wired charge it still takes hours. Primarily use this phone to do work on the go it does the job well. Other then having to carry a ... Other then having to carry a phone charger and a few issues I feel this phone deserves 2 stars.
