You have the Fitbit app, Watch app, and if you previously used Google Fit, you will want this app as well. Fitbit and Google Fit should be seamlessly integrated. All the core features work flawlessly, and I much prefer the notifications and increased functionality from all the apps compared to my Garmin. The minimalist design may not be the most exciting, but it shouldn't look out of place whatever outfit you may be wearing. Some people may prefer something larger than 41mm, but this should be suitable for the widest range of people.I think it is priced a bit high, considering there are some excellent competing options that have recently been launched, none of which require a subscription to access the full features of the watch.Overall, it is a great WearOS watch but it could do with some refinement if it wants to be the best option.

My previous was a smartwatch just like the Google Pixel Watch 2 is powered by Wear OS (the majority of Samsung, Huawei, Google, Fossil, and Michael Kors watches use it) that sort of resembles Android OS so you will easily find your way around the menu and apps. You can't listen to music but you can control music from the watch. The health monitoring functions are pretty amazing and you can track so many workouts and get extensive data with a Fitbit subscription, as well as some workout exercises and guidance. The only issue I have with it is the battery life. It lasts only a day which theoretically isn't an issue as I can charge it overnight but then I am missing all the sleeping data. All in all, I do love it and will continue actively using it.

However, if you are looking mainly for smartwatch then this is definitely something to consider!

The Google Pixel Watch 2 is a noticeable progression from the previous generation, although it still has a few issues that could be improved. The packaging is well thought out and upon opening and setting up the watch for the first time I was very impressed quickly and easily the steps were completed. The watch pairs with your phone via a Bluetooth connection and downloads the configuration from the attached phone including WiFi access point details. On first connection it will take a short while updating the software and downloading the default apps based on your phone config. If you happen to be on a compatible mobile provider network you may also be able to use the esim feature without having to pay for a separate contract. It so happens that currently I am unable to use the esim functionality yet, but hope to once my provider offers it at a reasonable cost.Having a built in GPS sensor means the navigation features are accurate and do not require the phone to be connected apart from any data connection that may be required. The android/WearOS ecosystem has a huge range of apps that enhance the watch from apps to visual tweaks and customisations. I have a few apps installed for my home automation which makes feedback via notifications and managing devices around the house super easy as it can now be done from the watch rather than needing to pull out my phone. The only downsides for me were the battery doesn't last quite as long as I would like (although still better than previous version), the watch itself is a little small, and the watch now n longer supports wireless charging so therefore needs a bespoke charging cable.
The Pixel Watch 2 looks good and feels good on the wrist. It seems like a well built wearable.Whilst the device is responsive, it's still can be laggy and unresponsive at times. It took multiple attempts to actually set up as each time an error appeared on the 'Watch' app that said "somethings gone wrong, factory reset and try again". Annoying. Also - battery life is supposed to have improved from the first gen Pixel watch - but to me it still isn't that great.I can just about make it through a day, but it needs a top up if I want to track my sleep. Even when I tweak the settings for it to use less battery, it has very little impact. The ONE thing I've noticed is that the default watch faces that it comes with drains battery very fast. Even when I tweak the settings for it to use less battery, it has very little impact. The ONE thing I've noticed is that the default watch faces that it comes with drains battery very fast. After installing and switching to a third party watch face, this has improved battery life significantly. The sound from the speakers is fine, but not great as it gets distorted when quite loud.Answering calls on the watch is surprisingly good though as there's little lag and people on both ends of the call seem to speak and hear normally. All in all a good wearable, but not great. I'd recommend it for people wanting a decent smartwatch with good fitness tracking capabiltities, but not for anyone that wants a premium device with long battery life.A final point: be careful as some of the more useful and marketed featured are locked behind a fitbit Premium subscription.NOTE: I've been using the Pixel Watch 2 with a Pixel 8.
I was not convinced to switch to Google pixel smartphone, but around the Christmas I picked this watch. When I got it and started to unpack I thought wow. It really felt quality built and design was instantly eye catching. Google assistant, calling features and skin temperature sensors was something I did not have on my smartwatch before. And of course the watch is waterproof, which is really good to know during wet weather days. This watch offers endless features depending on your life style and truly looks great. For negatives I have very few things to mention. Of course the battery life. Even improved it still lasts 1 day, which on the other hand is normal with gadgets like this. Good thing it charges fast, but again keep in mind the box includes just C type charging cable, so you need to get charging block for that. Also, watch comes in one size only, Even though it looks great on me, I have a feeling it is a bit too small for a male to wear, but this is just my opinion. And the last thing is the price. It is not the cheapest thing to buy, but if the price does not scare you, I would say definitely go for it.
The good: it is really easy to setup, especially if you already have a pixel phone. Easy to learn UI. Heart rate monitor is really accurate for a watch, used my wife's oximeter she uses for work as a nurse to confirm, only off by one to two bpm.The bad: battery life is horrible. Barely getting 12-18 hours of use from it. All settings are what it came with, I am going to try some of the battery saver features to see if that gives me at least 24 hours of use. Seems to have affected my phone in receiving calls and made it buggy, can't truly confirm this but the watch and the supporting apps are the only changes to my phone since purchase. Watch is on the smaller size from what I'm used to wearing for a watch, fixed that issue with a watch case and band I found on Amazon. Also it seems that some of the functionality of the watch is limited to use with the Fitbit app and only in the premium monthly subscription version. I've already paid $500 for the watch, include the software needed to extract the full potential of the watch. Not anything against the construction of the watch, not a negative or a positive, but I have always had issues with rubber/silicone/plastic bands for watches, so I kinda wish there were more choices for bands from Google at the time of purchase, to include a stainless steel band option. Hopefully this review helps someone make a more informed decision based on my early observations.
It's a nice-looking watch, but rather small for a man's wrist. It's light to wear, but I found the strap uncomfortable. The most annoying issue, was the whole set-up procedure! The watch can only be set up and run using the Watch app. Eventually, after a couple of days of trying all possible scenarios, it finally connected - the problem seems to have been that the watch required a software update before being able to sync with the app - a chicken and egg situation, which somehow eventually solved itself! One of my main reasons for considering this watch was the promise of comprehensive and accurate health and fitness data in conjunction with Fitbit. However, what is NOT well advertised is that a Fitbit Premium subscription is required in order to connect with any of the 'advanced' features (costing £7.99 monthly after a 6-month free trial!).Even if the cost is not a concern, the real issue is that these 'advanced' features provide inaccurate data or do not work! I wore the watch for 3 weeks day and night (except for 2hrs daily charging it), but during that time did not receive any sensible data logged by the app. My recorded sleep was around 1hr 30mins - maybe over 2hrs a couple of times! My Apple watch tracks my sleep consistently at between 5hs 30mins and 7hrs nightly over the past 2 years. Even the heart rate monitoring is poor - showing a typical range 65-117bpm - whereas my Apple watch reports 65-75bpm (both resting) over similar days. I have not been able to retrieve any data about skin temperature or blood oxygen saturation! As for other features - the battery does not achieve 24hrs, even if the 'always on screen' is disabled along with all notifications.Overall, I am very disappointed as I had expected more from Google with this second version of their Pixel watch. Perhaps I have a defective example of this watch - it certainly seems that some of the sensors on the watch are not working correctly?Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend this watch.

The Battery life lasts up to 48 hrs and this feels sufficient given the functions it offers. The watch is equipped with Fitbit's health fitness app suite and comes with heart rate tracking, step tracking and sleep monitoring. It looks very accurate and was very responsive as I used it to perform some High intensity exercises.Overall, the watch is very well built, coupled with sleek design. It also offers a plethora of functionalities and makes it a great product.
I previously had Fitbits, but when I discovered the Pixel Watch incorporated Fitbit I was keen to try it out, as I've also had Pixel phones for the last few years.Style wise I feel it's understated and doesn't look garish, particularly with the black strap. The integration between the phone and watch is seamless via the Google watch app, and allows you to manage the settings from either device. I like the large choice of watch faces you can pick from, and I've opted to use photos from my phone gallery for a personalised option.Activity tracking is excellent, vastly superior to any Fitbit I had previously. I also love the Fitbit ECG option, which let's you know if you have normal cardiac sinus rhythm. It's also excellent at tracking your sleep, and gives you great insights to how well you're resting through the night. It's very handy for making sure you never miss a call or text, but you can of course turn off notifications for when you need peace and quiet. One feature I absolutely love is my morning alarm now rings through my watch rather than my phone; it's a far more palatable noise at that time of the day, and I can turn it off from my wrist rather than reaching for my phone and knocking things off the bedside table! Additionally, when I plug in my phone at night to charge, my phone goes into Do Not Disturb mode, and this syncs with the watch so I won't be disturbed by either during the night.Charging is quick, I'd hazard a guess a full charge takes around an hour, and the battery life is well over 24 hours (I don't use "always on" for the watch display).Overall I would highly recommend, and I can't imagine living without a smartwatch again.
