I bought these covers for my GoPro Hero 8 cameras (I have two of them) and I feel a little better than I did before.I've not had to "use them"; that is, I've not dropped the camera or hit the lens with anything, but I think that they'll save me some grief if I do.Putting them on was very easy and it took less than a minute or so.The only downside is that I've noticed a slight delay in the response of the back touchscreen. I sometimes have to "swipe up" two or three times to get to a menu rather than the customary one swipe. For the extra piece of mind, it's worth it though.

On the box it says lifetime warranty. That means absolutely nothing. Gopro would never replace it or or anything... This is not a fair purchase. I never dropped it or hit it with anything. It literally broke for no reason two days after I got it. I installed it perfectly as well with no air bubbles or anything. It really should not have broke, but it did. This is Gopro's fault. A superior camera company that admits their faults and honors their warranties should replace GoPro.

It has been money well spent, as on at least three occasions I managed to bash a lens against a very unforgiving object. The filter was toast, but the lens itself undamaged. There really isnt much to say about this. These fit the Hero 8 perfectly. I bought this for the hero9 bcause at the time i needed something like this, the Hero9 didnt have anything available yet. I bought this and used the lens an rear screen part just to offer protection and it does just that.This comes with two lens and screen protectors so dont feel too bad if you screw up applying it the first time as youll get a second go at it.
At the time the new Hero 8 with its non-replaceable front lens hit the market, this lens (and back screen) protector was the best protection you could get for your new GoPro. I bought this and it was easy to install and does not affect recording quality. However, its intended use was for protecting my GoPro when I have the camera mounted on the outside of my race car, so having a thin piece of glass attached directly to the front of the lens made me question just how much protection it could offer.Now GoPro has released their Rollcage for the Hero 8, which at $25 offers a thicker, replaceable lens attached to a frame that the camera fits into. It would seem this will be a better option so I have ordered the Rollcage today.
These are life savers! I use my GoPro to film action sports and family fun and these hold up very well and offer phenomenal protection. My kids beat up my GoPros and these will crack but the screens stay in great shape and for the price they’re easy to replace if that happens.
This is a must have. With the release of the 8 there is no option to replace your lens quickly if damaged or scratched. I have had the 8 black for 6 months and have once gotten out of the water after surfing and noticed the lens was shattered. Thankfully I had the protector on add that was all that was shattered. NOT THE LENS. Then again I dropped my GoPro from waist height and again the lens protector shattered and saved the lens. Definitely a must have accessory for the GoPro 8.
Pricey, but it does what it is supposed to. Easy to install.Better to have the lens and screen protected than to end up with permanent scratches on them. Similar off brand items may be available, but this was in stock in store, so I was able to pick it up before a trip out of the country.
