Rain jackets have evolved from the days of a simple EVA shell with a hook-and-loop front, and the Gore Wear Gore-Tex Paclite Jacket sets a new standard for the cycling rain-shell. Constructed of Gore-Tex Paclite, the jacket boasts a waterproof and windproof membrane that is thin enough to pack down for on-bike carry. Enhancing breathability in rain jackets is critical. In case your ride never escapes the ominous radar, the Packlite has two external pockets to keep snacks at the ready without having to unzip the front or hunt for the jersey's pockets. And the extended tail keeps road spray off your rear to enhance comfort and warmth.

I am very pleased with this jacket - I have found it to be waterproof, breathable and comfortable. It's lightweight and packs up small. I am 5ft 11in and 13st, and find the large size a perfect fit with a layer or two underneath it.

Used it in cool windy conditions , including light rain, on Scottish hills. Kept it all out and heat in, not tested in a downpour yet but am confident it will be OK as the rain didn’t soak in but balled up on the surface. Good bike fit. Just under 220g, light for the functionality. Hope it lasts like other Gore products, e.g. many years, obviously can’t comment on this yet. Sizing seemed usual for me, didn’t need it bigger or smaller. The arm movement is limited, as you’d expect and want for a bike fit, while walking this was noted.

I bought this jacket for mountain biking. Originally, I was using a running jacket that had a hood but the this was quite baggy and the hood kept flapping about which was really annoying. I decided to buy the Paclite jacket as I had read and heard positive reviews. The Paclite jacket is simply brilliant. It is fitted (but not tight) so there is no flapping or excess material and it doesn't have a hood which is what I wanted so no hood flapping around either.I wore it last weekend in Afan Forest, Neath during a full days rain and it was excellent. It breather well yet didn't leak whatsoever and i didn't get too hot. The zips are watertight and the slightly longer back protects the lower back and bum from getting wet and muddy.I'm an athletic build 5ft 10in weighing ... MoreI bought this jacket for mountain biking. Great jacket. Bought it to replace my previous one which was 10 years old. The previous jacket was still good, it's just I wanted one slightly bigger to fit some layers underneath for winter, and I wanted one that was black. I bought the previous one as an emergency purchase when I was caught out in a rainstorm. It packs up really small so it's always ready in my rucksack in case of a downpour. One slight niggle - a couple of front pockets for phone, keys would be nice.
I was hesitated due to the confused sizing. Read quite a lot of reviews in terms of sizing everywhere on the web. Eventually realized that it is usually advertized as European sizing on the web. US sizing is one size down on Gore's cycling clothes. I am 178cm/5'10" tall and 72kg/162lbs. It's "active fit" is straight and it doesn't fit like "slim", "trim" or "tight" fittings. It fits perfectly on my slightly tall and regular shape Asian body. Went ahead and bought an EU large. With usual great GT Paclite fabric quality. Seamseal looks perfect as well. Packed really small to be able to fit into my cycling jersey's back pockets.I have yet to try it under the rain. I will expect it to work like my Arcteryx GT Paclite emergency jacket as well.
I purchased this in the hope sweat build up would be minimal. It's certainly better than an old Rapha rain jacket i had but my inner jersey was still damp. Fit is reasonably generous but probably not to the point to size down. So i'd say this is a good rather than great jacket but the price and service from Sigma was great.
This jacket survived the crazy weather of the 2022 Tour Divide MTB race from Canada to Mexico and tons of training rides and bikepacking trips prior to the race. It breathes fairly well for a rain shell and simply does what it needs to do, which, on a few occasions, meant preventing me from freezing to death in cold rain. I only have two complaints: 1) It lacks a hood; and 2) The zipper eventually busted and the jacket had to be replaced (by another GORE jacket with a hood!) But I knew this jacket lacked a hood when I bought it, and it's hard to hold a grudge against a jacket that survived months of abuse. Believe me, I wouldn't have bought another if this jacket hadn't been amazing. It's worth the money!
Great coat re waterproofing, breathable and colour. Enough room to wear more layers. Very light. Only drawback is the fragility of the fabric… but that is the pay off re its qualities as a lightweight jacket.
I purchased this jacket after having ,seen one on a cycling friend. I chose a n EU size M jacket according to the size chart. I am so pleased that I did. The size M fits me extremely well. I am 170cm tall, weigh 66kg and have a form fit. The jacket has so far worked very well in light showers and protects well from a cold headwind. The construction seems solid and well made and I expect that the jacker will work well in heavier rain when I encounter it.
Tried my new Jacket for the first time today, I cycled for 90 minutes in light to heavy rain and arrived back home dry as bone. The jacket not only kept the rain out but also I did not get hot and sweaty. Overall I am really really impressed and so pleased with the Jacket.
