Gran Turismo 7 (PS5)

A fantastic complete package, some early QOL fixes requires in some areas but nothing that takes away from the fun overall. Engine sound design even on PS4 is such a pleasant upgrade wow, and speaking of which, upgrades really change the sound of the car more realisticly and prominently than FH5. Various exhaust upgrades actually sound like step upgrades to the same vehicle rather than how FH5 does it where it just selects a different exhaust sound file from a slightly more powerful sounding V6 engine for example of a different car. You even have Anti-Lag upgrades which makes coasting the car sound awesome seeing the better looking flames spit out and all that wonderful roll off sound and exhaust burbles and cracks...even on a diesel car! I am not sure if it does ... MoreA fantastic complete package, some early QOL fixes requires in some areas but nothing that takes away from the fun overall. I am not sure if it does the idle rev limiter machine gun popping effect as I haven't used it on a powerful car yet, I'll test and see but it's so fun when driving. There is a lot to love, it's a shame it's always online single player and when servers are down it would be nice to be able to tune cars, do license tests and other stuff like that. I have nearly 20gbs 5g data as a backup on 2 devices which the game would never use in a 6 hour session for example so that's not an issue, it would just be server maintenance. Hopefully this can be patched going forward to allow access to racing offline. Every house hold should have a 4g or 5g backup setup in place, or hell even 3g. Overall very good, could do with maybe a few more tracks and more city cars but I'm sure they will come, we are only just beginning with future content updates looking promising.

A Very Good Racing Game

Gran Turismo 7 is a very good racing game that offers a fantastic driving experience for players. The graphics and attention to detail are simply stunning, and the gameplay is smooth and responsive. One of the standout features of this game is the sheer number of cars and tracks available to players. With over 400 cars to choose from and dozens of tracks to race on, there is always something new and exciting to discover. And with the addition of the GT Cafe, players can customize their cars and compete in various events to earn rewards and progress through the game. The only downside to this game is the occasional long loading times and occasional bugs or glitches. With its impressive graphics, realistic physics, and vast array of cars and tracks, it offers an immersive and exciting driving experience that is hard to beat. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys racing games.Note: if you've played Forza or Forza Horizon on Xbox, you may find Gran Tourismo 7 a less inspiring alternative.

Expected much better out of this game and system

I recently got lucky and found a PS 5 for 600 bucks. Due to all the good things peple had to say about GT7 made me want to give it a try. I was expecting a game of the year type performance from this title and was greeted with alot of disappointment from it but kind of happy with it at the same time. The game has some nice cars that Forza just doesn't have and the AI is pretty competitive and darn tough to beat but I was expecting much better graphics and picture quality from this game. The sound quality is very average to even lackluster at times. In my opinion the game would greatly benefit from dolby vision and dolby atmos. As I was racing it seemed like the car struggles way to much with just about everything from braking to taking curves properly. I'm the kind of guy who works hard and sruggles all day, when I get home I want relaxation and a little fun and happiness when I game, not more constant struggle. But in my experience I will say that those who say that the PS5 is a better system than the series x definitely do not know what they are talking about because from what I've seen the series x has better graphics or display or picture or however you want to say it. The series X also sounds better and has more sound options for your entertainment system than the PS5 offers. The series X also is compatible with dolby vision and atmos where the PS5 is not. In my opinion the PS5 is the weaker system.

Grand Turismo Series is Dead

This game is absolutely awful. I thought after the last botched title GT would have learned their lessen but no. This game used to be a great sim but now the controls are just awful. It is impossible to play this game w/o a steering wheel so in reality it costs more like $500 once you've gotten everything you need just to play the game. The game has completely gone away with starting from pole position so every race you have to start an entire lab behind the leader who is always at least 200 HP more than whatever car you can muster up for the race. This is no longer a simulation game but purely arcade.TL;DR - This is the kind of game you get when you leave a bunch of moron millennials in charge. Don't waste your money

It's Pay to Win, Microtransaction Trash. Don't.

Poly Digital released a really nice game. The tech press and the gaming press all oohed and ahhed about it all and gave it glowing reviews because it was a really nice game.2 weeks after release PD releases a patch that introduces microtransaction cash shops, pay dollars for cars schemes, and cuts payouts for nearly all the races you run to shove people into the cash shop if they don't like how slow and grindy and awful the gameplay has become. It's garbage. I wish I hadn't bought it. I don't care if PD fixes the problem or not, I know where their head is, and it's not at creating something we will love. It's about hooking addicts into paying cash for pretend things like as in a "free to play" mobile game.

Local multiplayer is not as good as older games

Grand Turismo is what got me into console gaming when the original PlayStation came out. I played that game for the better part of 2 years as a kid. I was ecstatic when I finally managed to get a PS5 so I could play GT7 “the way it was meant to be played”. I wish I’d just gotten it for PS4 some time ago. Unless there is something I’m missing, playing split screen in this game is pathetic. You get a very limited selection of playable cars, none from the cars you unlock/buy as you play the campaign. I have no desire to race my buddy in a stock Focus ST. If I did, I’d just do that in real life. And you have to have an internet connection to do a local multiplayer race. The big issue with this game for me is needing an internet connection in general to play anything ... MoreGrand Turismo is what got me into console gaming when the original PlayStation came out. The big issue with this game for me is needing an internet connection in general to play anything aside from a very limited selection of cars in arcade races that don’t count for anything nor are recorded/saved. You cannot play ANY of the single player campaign without an internet connection. While this may not be an issue for most people, if you have spotty internet, you can literally be kicked out of a race seconds from finishing because your connection went out (and stayed out long enough to trigger that). This is extremely annoying when you’re on lap 20 of a 20 lap endurance race on the Nurbringer Ring. And why I only give this game 3 stars. The gameplay is generally good, the way they do the campaign is a bit silly, but if you really like cars and the history surrounding some classic and iconic cars, they do a decent job of giving you that. It doesn’t feel too grindy to make money and purchase ever better cars and upgrades. Just make sure you have solid internet when you go to play.

Not as bad as most make out

Like most, i too was upset at the payouts. They have fixed that and walked back their mistake and learned from it. I saw a review about zero damage physics, this is also untrue and tells me they havent played heavy rules racing and are still in the beginning stages. Damage plays a whole huge role later on and specially in on-line play. Saw another review of someone saying this isnt next gen graphics and looks like PS3, this is very untrue. Go compare the differences youself, it's staggering. If you like a challenge and love technical racing and want to get really good, this is the game for you. If you like arcade style racing and physics then i would avoid this at all cost and pick up Garfield Racing instead. See you out on the track, you can find me mostly on ... MoreLike most, i too was upset at the payouts. They have fixed that and walked back their mistake and learned from it. Outstanding Game

One of the best driving games right out of the box. Absolutely no jerkiness or skipping anywhere - fluid is the operative word.PS5 controller is incredible, with steering set to angle of controller, it is super smooth and easy to control. Plenty of options for accelerator and brake - right stick was my choice. The feedback in the controller is impressive - running over curbs, can feel the rumble. The idea of sound from the controller is pretty unnecessary - starting beep is the only real sound from there.Graphics are so darn impressive. Lots of details around the tracks, road detail is impressive (easy to see wet and dry track and worn in driving line). Cars can be customized in just about any way you can imagine (paint, wheels, spoilers, body kits), with go faster parts. And when on track or seeing that car anywhere, all those customized bits show up.The whole cafe with menu cards is fun to learn driving, the game, collecting cars, and getting money to buy more cars and upgrade parts (the things that really do make a car go faster). There's an amazing array of cars to choose from - Tesla Model S (2014 Signature Performance, including two colors only made for a very short time, green and brown) is even in there. Car detail is really well done. And they nail the car sound rather well - Tesla makes essentially no noise while running, just tire squeal. Although they got the torque curve and acceleration a bit off. But that's picking nits. This is a really fine racing game. I guess if you get heavy into it, racing at the way higher end and on line, a wheel and pedals might be necessary. But so far - I'm 39 cafe menus into the game - I don't feel the need for a wheel. There are a ton of things to adjust and tweak. In the beginning finding the right combination of controller assists is important, and then when to drop those assists as you get better at driving (there was even a point where the game told me to turn something off). Figuring out suspension tweaks has a very steep learning curve. The in game help screens are a bit confusing because the words don't translate exactly to a setting (the on line manual is a bit better at help).A really fun driving game, at some gorgeous tracks (not as many iconic tracks as I would like - a lot missing from the US), with incredibly beautiful cars, that helps you along to finally getting a super license for FIA racing.

PS5 GT7

Gran Turismo 7 for Playstation 5 is just as good if not better than its incarnates, it is certainly better than GT Sport in my opinion. In GT7, whilst the game is installing you can race in a mini game called Music Rally. Although, the music can get annoying in this, the cars that you use are fun to drive. After installation you are prompted to buy a used car with the 20,000 credits that are given. In the early stages of the game, you'll spend most of your time flipping between the cafe and Sunday Cup races. In the cafe, you are given a menu book and this is how you can unlock other parts of the GT world map, earn cars and unlock new tracks as you progress in the game. At certain points you will also need to acquire specific licenses like you do in previous versions ... MoreGran Turismo 7 for Playstation 5 is just as good if not better than its incarnates, it is certainly better than GT Sport in my opinion. The controls on the standard PS5 controller are easy to master but I can not comment on other controllers. The graphics in game are superb in my opinion, just like watching a video but your the main character in it. Every detail I can think of is there including shadows, reflections and varying weather options. The sound is good, but I can find the BG music both in game and in the menus irritating, but once I figured out how to turn them off and only have Sound Effects and other ambient sounds, gotmore enjoyment from the game. Overall an extremely good game and perhaps a must have game to those who like driving/racing simulators but I think the RRP of AU$109.95 is a little to high. I'd wait until you get it at a discounted price. I'd certainly would not pay anymore than the RRP if you can avoid it.

Polished racing sim / car collection game

I play with a wheel and pedals on PS5. GT7 is excellent, and the nostalgia is real. It looks fantastic, the physics are deep yet very manageable and there are lots of cars to race and tracks to race on. There are also many objectives to tick off that keep rewarding you with new things. I am aware of all the micro-transaction complaints, and there is some merit to these. Low credit payouts in many races means it can take a long time behind the wheel to purchase some of the classic and high performance cars. However, this does add to the scarcity of these cars and the satisfaction of buying them once you save up credits. There are still also several fun races with very high credits per hour ratios that let you save up for most cars within a couple of hours of ... MoreI play with a wheel and pedals on PS5.
