Firstly the delivery was fast, I got it the following day which was a surprise and ShopTo were great throughout the process. No problems there. As for the games, I grew up playing the older GTA games so a glossy image of what the trilogy games look like will never be met. The games are a product of their time and you can see the making of GTA V in each one of the trilogy. We are spoiled for well developed adventure and action games with great cover mechanics, animations, shooting systems and sound tracks for every minute of play, which make the trilogy feel awkward and frustrating in moments.Despite this, I enjoy playing them. It's probably the nostalgia taking over but playing through San Andreas particularly, but the simplicity in play and story with a present ... MoreFirstly the delivery was fast, I got it the following day which was a surprise and ShopTo were great throughout the process. And for a full 60 dollars! Garbage.

Here we go again. Another remake of another game from umpteen years ago.Thankfully that's the only negative thing I've got to say about this. First, I'm a fan of San Andrea's far more than GTA 3 & GTA Vice City. I played the latter to make sure they remain equally true to their respective originals, they do, but to me San Andrea's just has a substantially higher replay value to it. Nearly 20 years later and it still remains addictive. You'll need a memory card as the game us physical, but also very large. A 32 GB or more that's empty will more than suffice. The game play is untouched. The graphics are where you'll see a very moderate difference. And even there, it's only in the sense that the graphics have been cleaned up, made tidy, less choppy, etc. If you haven't played this in a long time you'll probably only barely notice it if at all. If you've never played this you'd probably swear that it's 100% identical to the PS2 & original Xbox version. And it essentially is. None of the characters or surroundings or vehicles, etc have changed in the slightest. They've just again been given a cleaned up treatment as far as the graphics go. Like I guess because they didn't rework the graphics to the point of making them full on HD, that they cleaned them up kind of gives the effect of a soft HD treatment. I suppose you could also say or argue that Rockstar merely corrected a few graphical issues, but not really, it's not glitchy, but it seems to have glitches the same as when it was on the PS2 & original Xbox. Meanwhile the controls have been adapted nicely. Somewhat different (hey, it's a different console) but also just way easy to adapt to too. While this being yet another remake is what I initially said is it's only flaw that's technically not wholly true. If you love one of these 3 games and only one, then you'll be stuck either getting all 3 or passing this by for that reason. Hopefully though that isn't too off-putting for most as if this game is super successful we're more likely to see a remake of Liberty City Stories & Vice City Stories, and maybe even the equally desired GTA 5. GTA 4? Perhaps more likely than GTA 5. Hey, as powerful and capable as the Switch has shown itself to be it does still have limitations. I don't doubt it's ability to run GTA 5, but I do question it. If we have to have a clear memory card for this, GTA 5 will probably be strictly downloadable only because of it's size. I don't so much doubt the capability and capacity of the system so much as i doubt and question the size capability and capacity of the game cards. Especially as this has been shown several times so far to be a real thing for Switch games.

GTA 3 is my #6 top game of all time! This is the game that started it all in 3d open world play. The game is really fun to go back to after many years away from it. It still holds up in 2021 as a playable experience. The missions are fun- and many are pretty short at the beginning. Several missions are pretty challenging. Overall it’s great to cause havoc in Liberty City! The Definitive Edition has taken some hits for its initial state. I played it after patches- and I only saw one floating car & one floating lamp post. There were also some pretty wild looking pedestrians in the game. There were no other glitches that I experienced. I’m glad I bought this and played it again. I will definitely play it again sometime in the future.GTA Vice City Definitive Edition- ... MoreGTA 3 is my #6 top game of all time! This game is really my favorite GTA game. It’s aesthetics of the 1980s Miami are outstanding. It has my favorite soundtrack of any game ever. It also has perhaps the best voice cast of all time. It’s been a long time since I played it. Something that stood out is that the map is really quite small compared to today’s open world games. I can see why this was originally an expansion for GTA 3. But I love playing as Tommy Versetti. I really hope the rumors are true that GTA 6 might be partly set back in Vice City. I really didn’t see any glitches in the Definitive Edition- except some wild looking pedestrians. The only thing I don’t like about it is that you have to meet certain requirements to open up the last mission. I don’t like to have to grind just to be able to finish a game. Overall, it was a great experience to go back to. Definitely still enjoyable in 2021. I will play it again sometime in the future.
Game is still plagued with bugs, slow frame rates, compressed audio and low resolution graphics. Unfortunately the wait for a (delayed) physical version didn't pay off. There's no new patch for the physical release. Last year's patch is still the only one available. Although many bugs were fixed, the current state of the game on doesn't justify your money. By the way not all games are included you still have to download a considerable amount of data from the e-shop. It's a shame Rock Star and the third party developer didnt deliver the game fans were hoping for. GTA fans deserved better than the current mess.
I don't know whether I'm just mellowing as I get older but I love this collection. They could have just updated the controls and I would have been happy. These are not new games, they feel dated, I'm just grateful to be able to play them on modern hardware. If you want a nostalgia trip then go for it cannot recommend it enough, if you want to pick holes in every glitch or wonky texture or poor character model then go for it. The game has crashed twice on me, but that's no more than what every other game has done in the last 10 years. This game has been patched recently, I think it runs great, the odd bit of slow down, vastly improved load times compared to the slog it was on PS2. The game is much improved from the original. The newest patches also have fixed most of the glitches, so that I can now recommend The GTA Trilogy. I feel like the controls are also much improved. I wasn't able to effectively control the cars in the original version on Playstation 2. While the $60 price is a little high for 3 old games with no extras. So if you love the GTA series it's a great package now after the updatesIf you haven't played them is recommend waiting until it's on sale for $40. Either way it has hours and hours and hours of game play in one package.
This piece of nostalgia is fine, but don’t go into it expecting to be blown away. I would love to tell you that the developers went into this project with the mindset of bringing these trendsetting pieces of gaming history up to current quality standards. I mean, the games themselves where ahead of their time, but that time has passed, and now they stand quite a few steps off the pedestal they once occupied. Don’t get me wrong. For the price of one modern triple A title , you are getting three good games, but they are definitely not remastered games that meet the current definition, or quality of modern titles. This game would make a great stocking stuffer. The shear amount of content you get for that price shouldn’t be overlooked, and even after all these years there is still a lot of fun to be had here.
Allowing this game to exist on the market for a year, I decided to take the plunge and get the updated trilogy. I knew this game was broken when it came out, to the point where the reviews were highly critical. I played GTA III from this trilogy last year on PC when it first came out, which I couldn't get on with it so I discontinued playing. However, I gave it a year to see if the gameplay had improved on the PS4 version. Which all I can say is that it hasn't improved enough, it's actually worth the current price of £20.98 and not a penny more. But if anyone says it "takes them back" or they feel "nostalgia" playing this game, you instantly know they're not truly fans of the original releases. Nothing takes them back, the first released build of the "definitive" trilogy was broken and they had to make their game playable and even at this point a year later it's still not 100%, but it's playable to a not very enjoyable nature. I would rather play the PS2 versions of these games, because quite honestly where I love Rockstar Games, this one is terrible and I think they need some honest game testers.
Pros: 3 classic games included in 1. Ability to play on the go and on the big screen. First portable console to receive these titles.Cons: Some bugs still need fixing, especially the white bar/flicker at the bottom of the screen on each game. If you look hard you will find bugs but the games are playable. The price is not really justified due to the overall finish of the games, had they been polished and tested before release would have made this re-release multi-title even better.
