Dog dental chews like these ones from Greenies are an easy way to maintain your dog's dental health. Well looked after teeth and gums mean that not only the mouth is healthy but the whole body is too. This is because bacteria from rotten teeth can enter the bloodstream and cause other health problems. Dog dental chews like these ones from Greenies are an easy way to maintain your dog's dental health. Well looked after teeth and gums mean that not only the mouth is healthy but the whole body is too. This is because bacteria from rotten teeth can enter the bloodstream and cause other health problems. This can be prevented by undertaking a full dental care routine that includes dental chews. Greenies chews will keep your dog's mouth healthy by: Encouraging chewing, which helps to prevent the buildup of plaque and tartar Getting rid of undesirable doggy breath Providing daily treatment With added vitamins and minerals, these low fat treats are a great choice for adult dogs. The moment you open the bag, you'll be greeted with a strong odour. But don't be alarmed - it's actually quite appetising as it smells similar to Vegemite. Along with the smell, your dog will be enticed by the lip-smacking taste. All of the ingredients used are highly soluble so that they are easy to digest. Five different sizes mean that there is the perfect size for your pooch.

I purchased these because we struggle with our two dogs and brushing their teeth, they just don’t like it. I saw that Greenies had amazing reviews so that’s what helped me decide. My dog Cleo ate it up. She’s a Rottweiler, and will literally eat ANYTHING (except lettuce haha) She eats ate hers right by my feet. Her smell test after…hmm not bad. Now for Boomer, his breath would make a baby cry. He’s always sleeping, so I joke and say he’s more like a cat. So it has to be like a permanent morning breath for him. He gently takes the Greenie from my hand and walks to his bed to eat it. A few min later he comes to me wagging his tail-so I take that as he liked it. I do the smell test on his breath…it still smells like trash can in the middle of a hot summer day. I suppose Greenies work as well as where your dogs breath starts out and then with continued use, it can get fresher and fresher. But, continued use is the problem for my buddy Boomer. You see, that evening and through the night, he kept on asking me to let him out to go outside because he had diarrhea. I kept the box of Greenies and would give one to Cleo whenever her breath needed it and Boomer wasn’t looking (he’s deaf, so it’s super easy to sneak around him LOL) But, another time since Boomer’s initial tasting, a family member gave him a Greenie (not knowing that he couldn’t eat them) and his poor stomach was just as upset. So Greenies are a win for Cleo’s breath, not so much for Boomer. I’m thinking his stomach is just sensitive to a particular ingredient. I haven’t experimented with anything else for his breath since, but I will eventually. If your dog does not have a sensitive stomach, I’d say give these a try. Maybe try a small box at first, not go crazy with a value size until you know how your dog likes them.

My babies love these so they get an A+ for flavor. However, I am cautious as a pet parent. These are hard chews that ever so slightly soften when eaten. I have one fur baby with sensitive teeth so I am concerned she may hurt her teeth or have breakage eating such a hard treat. I have another senior baby who has a bad habit of swallowing his treats once it breaks off and small enough for him to have in a his mouth. That being said I do think these can present a choking hazard. These would be great in bite sized form or made in a softer version. I don’t really see a difference in their dental heath especially since my dogs eat them a little unconventionally. Greenies don’t have much of a texture on the exterior so I’m not sure if it’s able to scrape plaque.

Best dental chews
6 March 2024

I didn't think these would make a difference -- boy was I wrong! I was using a different, cheaper brand for about 6 months and thought they were doing the job until I started giving my boys Greenies! My boys' teeth and breath are so much better after only 2 weeks. There is a noticeable difference in the tartar and whiteness of their teeth and no more stinky breath. I do try to brush their teeth but only have minimal success so these are my best alternative when brushing is not an option. Yes, they are more expensive but not as expensive as having a dental cleaning at the vet. So yes, for me, these are a win/win. Never going back to my old brand. My dogs love them to boot!

Conversation with a dog

Massive diarrhea
9 September 2024

I’ve given treats from this recent order in two separate occasion. After the first one, we came to massive diarrhea all over our hallway carpet. This was the only different/new thing she ate that day besides white rice with her kibbles (normal daily breakfast). She had diarrhea for two straight days and had to go to vet for prescription. I wasn’t 100% sure it was the greenies.Fast forward for 7 days later and her diarrhea have disappeared. My 11 yo nephew gave my dog this treat while I was preoccupied. Again, diarrhea for 3 days. This may work for others but it was absolutely terrible for us. Had to donate the rest of the bag to family friend whose dog enjoys this.

My boy LOVES these!
22 May 2024

At a recent vet visit, the doctor said that my 7 year old ShihTzu will need his first dental cleaning this fall. I expressed this to my mother, who offered him a teeny greenies treat, which my sister's dog gets daily. She told me that they are healthy for your dog, and help clean their teeth with chewing. He seemed to enjoy it, but I wasn't sure whether he would eat them as happily at home. (Treats from "Grammy" are special, and he would take and eat it from her even if he didn't like it).I'm happy to report that we are on day 3 of his daily teeny greenies treat, and he LOVES them! I plan to get the other flavors for him to try as well, and hope he enjoys them just as much. The best part is knowing that my dog is enjoying such a healthy treat that's good for him- packed with vitamins and minerals that will help his body and teeth stay strong. We look forward to many happy tail wagging daily treat moments with Teeny Greenies in the future!Thank You Greenies!

Product Good but Sizing Not So Much
16 January 2024

I bought these for my dog based on her weight but they are too big for her. She is a true Heinz-57 mixed breed which can making sizing an issue at times but she was pretty far over the next size down (by a third lbs) so I figured this would be the size for her. I wanted to make sure she was getting the benefits with the correct size but this definitely seems like something you have some wiggle room with. I wish the manufacture or Chewy would note that if you have a senior, or a smaller mouth, or less of a chewer you might want to consider other sizes. They have all kinds of styles of these (including as sr. option that was just added) but the single flavor in the larger quantity was the most cost effective so I bought them in bulk unfortunately. This is why I love Chewy.
25 October 2023

The product is 100% dog dad approved because the vet said Bentley’s teeth are in great shape. Told him about Greenies. He said stick with it. Next, the PRICE!! I know we do the most for our pets and I always will. But everything has gotten so expensive. I usually go to a big box store for these but after looking on Chewy, they had a sale price plus a coupon. I know I could probably find a coupon online somewhere and print it out etc. but, Chewy makes us so easy to do from the app. Lastly, I’ve been using Chewy for at least the last decade. Their most valuable business model is getting their items to you ASAP! I lived in San Diego my whole life and wasn’t too surprised that my items arrived quickly.
