Smart Fabric is not cheap, but totally worth it. I have found it to have great moisture resistance with fantastic fabric protection. You will probably use more than you expect as you need to saturate the surface you are covering. Make sure to wear respiratory protection if you’re spraying inside the vehicle or within an enclosed space.

Amazing product

Amazing product, works really well.

Great product, it works amazingly and is the best convertible roof protector on the market. Instructions arent great and you need gloves and to rub the product into the fabric. You Tube videos help explain it much better.

Disappointed

I mainly use gtechniq as I love their products. However with this I1 smart fabric v2 I was disappointed. Deep cleaned my car mats with rug doctor and left to thoroughly dry for a couple of days. Then absolutely saturated them with the smart fabric and left to dry again for 24 hours. Poured a glass of water on them and 10%of the water ran off, 90% soaked in! Absolute waste of money! Would not recommend this at all.

OK I'll get the bad stuff out of the way first: this stuff is quite spendy!However... its also flipping magic!I tried to reproof my mini with this product, going by the previous time I did it (with fabsil gold) I thought I could get away with a 250ml bottle - hah, no chance! The bottle barely did the back and just about half of the top.It had taken me three cleans to get the roof ready (using gtechniq W5 - also highly recommended) and I didn't want to drive the car without protection. So I did an impromptu experiment- painting the other half with the fabsil gold I had left over from last time.Six months later, you can see the water sitting on the smart fabric side, but soaks straight in to the fabsil side. Easy application and much more effective that the Autoglym Lifeshine Interior Protect that I have used at work for a long time.Quick tip: Gtechniq say this product has a slight solvent smell....I assume they do not have a sense of smell. Imagine mixing strong antifreeze, IPA and vodka in a big bottle and you have this stuff! Apply liberally but give some ventilation during drying, even when dry the smell lingered in the car for nearly 2 weeks even with daily driving with air con on and windows wide open. Gtechniq I1 V3 - Smart Fabric 500ml

Purchased to reproof the roof on my wife's Mini Roadster. Struggled to find the right weather conditions, but eventually decided to go for it. Unfortunately, the 500 ml bottle ran out before I could finish the top, so I will have to purchase some more in order to finish the job. Didn't manage to get the 12-hour weather window either, but early results look promising.

It works!

Very easy to apply, and works brilliantly! I have tipped water on front seat after application & simply repelled & ran to the backrest. Only thing is the odour, it is very strong & needs good ventilation when applying, and for some hours afterward. Slight odour remained for a few days even with only one application.

To have this treatment done when I purchased my vehicle new was going to cost 450 dollars but this is as good and also being DIY, lets you ensure that you have covered all the fabric. Again, my advice is follow ALL the instructions to the letter. When I applied this, I covered any near bye vinyl and plastic areas to avoid over spray getting onto them. Anything removable such as head rests, I removed and applied the product to those parts outside the vehicle. I recommend leaving all doors open if car is in garage or windows open for the first couple of hours after application. There is a unique smell (not a bad smell) from this product but this dissipates over 48 hours to the point there is ... MoreAgain with all the GTECHNIQ products I use, this is one that also features.
