The orange was surprisingly delicious, excited to try the cola flavor.Bought this out of curiosity when I saw that I could get something that I could drink instead of awkwardly swallow down while running my 10+ mile weekend runs.AMAZING. The impact was palpable. Had one of these at mile 8 on a 12 mile run and had a noticeable difference for the last 4 miles of my run. Several hours later now and my after-run fatigue is also better. Will be purchasing these in bulk.

The new liquid energy gels are easy to consume and have good flavor. I would prefer these over the normal energy GU gels during a race since they can easily be consumed without getting sticky GU all over your hands or clothing. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is because the liquid packets are about 2 times larger than the normal GU gel packets. This can make it difficult to carry multiple packets or stick one in a smaller pocket. In addition, you can hear the liquid sloshing around in the packet, which can get annoying. I would recommend they put the liquid gel in a smaller packet.

First of all, the liquid energy gel, in this case, the coffee flavor, is great and seems to work as advertised. Great flavor, gives me that energy boost I need, and it’s liquid form makes it easier to ingest. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and in terms of the effects of the product, I am happy. It has saved me from bonking a couple of times.My only complaint is with the packaging. The very small rip you can make when you open a pack makes it very difficult to drink the liquid, and makes it very hard as well to extract everything from the pack. Being able to make a larger opening, lower in the neck of the package may help.
I love these liquid energy gels. I've used the standard gels in the past, and i was ok with them, but i wasn't a huge fan of the consistency. I sooo prefer these liquid energy packets. They are a little bigger, and if you're a weight weenie you may find that they are slightly heftier than the standard gels. Not an issue for me. Cola and lemonade are my faves, but i also found strawberry-banana to be pleasant. These along with the waffles are my go to ride snacks. Strongly recommend!!
I started using the product last year when I did 14 marathons in 14 weeks. I used a pack every 5 miles, which helped to maintain my energy level while staying hydrated. I prefer the liquid over the standard gel packs. The product has made a difference. I will put it back to the test on October 31st, when I will be doing the Marine Corps Marathon (Virtual) for my 37th time and my 133rd marathon. Not bad for four years after heart surgery (Mitral valve repair). Great stuff!!
I really liked the fact that this was just liquid as solids can sometimes be difficult to get down after running for many hours. These worked great on my training runs but didn't really seem like enough on a recent trail event - I didn't feel overly full but I also didn't feel satisfied, I still felt like i needed to eat something. There is a different little "off" taste in general to the orange and lemonade - not really metallic but just a little off. If there was an in-between consistency between these liquid gels and the thicker gels I would certainly be up for trying that. They are definitely worth trying and I would probably buy a few again but not rely only on these for future long events.
I used the strawberry banana flavor to fuel my first half-marathon, Run the Bluegrass. I suggest sipping, rather than taking big gulps of the Liquid Energy Gel if the texture gets to you. It gave me plenty of energy to power through all 33 hills!
I used the regular gels and changed over to the liquid gel. I completed 14 marathons and 14 weeks. The last five I used the liquid gel and found a noticeable change in my level of performance and endurance. On the standard gels I felt as though my performance was dropping close to bonking. On the liquid, I take at 5-mile intervals and I have a sense of renewed energy which has a positive effect on my performance. I feel a difference between the standard gel and the liquid. I only use the liquid for my long runs.
But in a good way! I think thats probably all this is is a regular GU packet with the appropriate amount of water already mixed into it, but its perfect. I love being able to take one of these with me and not have to take any water to get it down and working. Within a few minutes of taking one I can feel it working which is not something I can say about regular GU in my past experiences, because i probably wasnt taking enough water, problem solved. They are larger than a normal GU due to the extra volume but still fits in a pocket just fineI wish there were more flavor options, but after trying them all via the sample pack, my flavor rankings in order of greatness are the Strawberry Banana (SO GOOD), Lemonade, Orange, and Coffee (not so good).
