Guerlain Shalimar Eau De Parfum Spray 30ml

Guerlain is the only brand of perfume I can blind buy. I got this at a duty free store while we were flying back home from Mirocco vacation after trying for years to find in the US back in 2017. This perfume is something I will save for my next generation. I use it very sparingly and less us more with this perfume. It’s a clean sophisticated perfume which lasts 6 plus hours and it gets along really well with my body chemistry. This perfume is definitely not for all. The initial spray comes out strong and the then it starts shining through after half an hour or so. You can smell it for days on clothes. A classic vanilla with notes of citrus and incense. The vetiver, sandalwood from the dry down smell warm and comforting.

Another cheap imposter knockoff, a bad one at that

DO NOT BUY THIS!! Nor any other 1oz for $65 knockoffs. I bought Shalimar for my singing partner in the 1970*s, once you smell it you never forget it. It's haunting uplifting fragrance of citrus, vanilla. %26 floral notes will never be forgotten. It was $75 for 1/4oz for the parfume back then. Could it be even less expensive today?! NO! This cheap knockoff reeks of musty playdough. You are better off buying smells-alike oils for candles %26 incense. I got curious, I wanted to smell the real thing again. I found the real deal at Saks 5th, Macey's, Neiman Marcus et al for around $400 for 1oz of the PERFUME (not parfume, perfume being ~1/4th the potency). 1oz of the parfume could cost toward $1,000 today). Develops into a clean floral baby powder scent

This is a lovely scent but a little bit mature leaning. It's also a timeless and pretty bottle and when Macy's has their 50% off deals, you really can't beat this even prices on grey market! The lovely part about buying from Macy's tho, is their rewards and free samples and return policy if there is anything damaged in shipping. Also fragrances can go sour, and Macy's will take them back if it's a bad batch. There's no downside. I will always get any Macy's half-off smaller-size perfume I don't have, even if I've never tested it, and from that I can decide if I want to buy a bigger bottle. So never give up too quickly on a perfume you might not "love". Also the first suggest is not what the end result will be in a higher end perfume. You have to live with it and get to go know it. Disappointing and Overrated - Not What I Expected

I was really excited to try Guerlain's Shalimar, given its iconic status and rich history. Unfortunately, it ended up being a huge letdown. While the perfume opens with a somewhat intriguing blend of citrus and bergamot, the rest of the experience is overwhelmingly heavy and cloying. The vanilla and leather notes that come through later in the wear feel cheap and artificial, not the warm, comforting sweetness I was hoping for.

Horrible

This is the THIRD bottle I bought from different vendors. I THREW ALL 3 in the garbage! I used this for many years as a signature scent that I enjoyed wearing. I constantly received lots of compliments, especially from my husband. I am so disappointed trying to find this special scent. They are knock offs that dont even come a little close to the original. Tired of throwing my money away! Will have to find a whole new scent. What a shame!

Really Shalimar?

I well remember the wonderful Shalimar fragrance from the late 60s and early 70s and was mightily looking forward to enjoying a new bottle. However, what I received, was nothing like the Shalimar by Guerlain that I remember. When I first applied it, it smelled chemically and rather awful. After a couple of hours, it smelled like it might be a perfume, but definitely not Shalimar. I plan to return it. The price was quite high for a fragrance so unlike what I sought.

Popular for 90 years, Shalimar was created in 1921 and re-released in 1925 in a bottle designed by Raymond Guerlain and made by Cristalleries de Baccarat (bottle design # 597) The fragrance can be described as vanilla, powdery, and sweet. The fragrance contains Bergamot, Lemon, Jasmine, Rose, Iris, Incense, Opopanax, Tonka Bean, and Vanilla. It is considered to be an Oriental perfume which was popular during its conception. The top note of the fragrance is Bergamot. The middle notes are Iris and Opopanax. The base note is vanilla.

Guerlain perfumes have been my favourite perfumes for forty years. As new perfumes are created, many shops have stopped selling this brand. bottle w/engraving- absolutely stunning

the bottle is worth price of admission and i find it's extra lovely engraved,, very special. i so looked forward to the perfume. it was a bit of a disappointment as it is not how i remembered it being. i probably wouldnt order this particular scent again. i will and have ordered other guerlain scents however and have been so pleased. shalimar scent is just not for me, at this time. it may be perfect for another.
