Guerlain has been the standard for vetiver fragrances for 60 years— the original Vetiver is certainly a classic. Vetiver Extreme was launched more recently and provides a smoother, less sharp take on the original. Vetiver Extreme opens with a smooth citrus burst with subtle hints of pepper and smoke, warming down to a woodsy, vetiver base. You can still find Vetiver Extreme at a few discounters and I’d definitely recommend picking up a bottle if you get a chance. I personally like it more than the original.

Shalimar is an amazing oriental scent. It’s breathtaking, and I enjoy just having a bottle on my dresser to occasionally sniff. I believe my grandmother wore this but she has passed and my mother can’t remember. It’s so comforting and nostalgic. I would love to be able to wear this and occasionally I do if I’m just around the house. But it’s not me, I couldn’t wear this on a regular basis and I definitely find the scent dated.

Awful. Smells like that fragrance bar they put at the bottom of public urinals. Seriously. Never once saw a bad review of this product until I searched "Bad reviews: Guerlain Vetiver. It's a totally different composition than what it used to be, according to fans of this product.I was so excited for a product that was so well reviewed, only to be let down and go to the store to find something better. Don't ever do online blind-buys as I did. Went and got Dulce and Gabbana "K" which also has Vetiver and is fresher and more desirable.
I purchased this for myself husband. Ordered and it arrived in 2 days. The item was wrapped beautifully with ribbons to finish the item. It looked very expensive. The cologne smells great and lasts the whole day giving off slightly different aromas through the day. This was a last minute buy and was actually the best purchase.
This fragrance is exactly what I was looking for, a modern, green, vetiver that hangs around but doesn't overpower. I have lots of woody, amber, and Oud scents so was looking for a vetiver and this is perfect. It really lasts on my skin. The customer service was also second to none I was served by Shashi in the Milton Keynes store and I will definitely go back to her again. Very friendly and knowledgeable and recommended another fragrance after listening to what I like and I will definitely be going back to get L'homme Ideal as well!
The sprayer on the top of the bottle was different than i was used to getting, that the product sprayed out of the cap. All the other Samsarah i have purchased before had you take off the cap first . I eventually got the top to go on correctly before using it. Sprayed on well. Scent is beautiful! really nice and strong at first, but unfortunatley this time only last about two or so hours. I still have a little in another bottle that I purchased years ago at Macy's. But for some reason that one still last for 4 days? I think my older bottle is 15 or more years old. " I store mine in the fridge in summer."" And still lasts a long time, so not sure why this bottle only lasted 2 or three hours?? has a good shelf life compared to many out there. Thank you seller

I do get so.e neroli, mandarin orange and spices in the opening. In the dry down I do get some sage, myrrh and oakmoss. Performance is very decent. I have used Vétiver and vétiver only since 1978. Yes, that long. To me no cologne even comes near the complexity of vétiver. My only complaint is that an ingredient that was in vétiver is missing now for awhile. I think it’s the pepper, not sure. Regardless, if I really really want to use something else, I use Habit Rouge again by Guerlain. To me the house of Guerlain is the best among all other perfume houses. I just wish they would change the formula to what it was in the 70’s and 80’s. However, I will use it until the day day that I’m no longer able to take care of my self. Vivement vétiver de Guerlain!!!!
