Gulf Western Oil is generally on the lower end of the price spectrum and so they sort of miss out on the high quality image that the other Aussie brands have. But after using their products for a few years in every machine I own, I can safely say the quality is right. I use Top Dog XDO 15W-40 as a multi-use oil for my diesel Landcruiser and petrol lawnmowers. Really the only (minor) disadvantage with XDO 15W-40 is the pour point of -21C might be inadequate for cold climates, in which case there are better options. Cleaning performance is good, the API ratings aren't the latest but that's being addressed in newer products. I've got to compliment GWO on their professional MSDS and datasheet files that help make comparisons easier.
