Disappointed
It looked like it unraveled and someone randomly rolled it back up. The end was fraying and it basically looked used. Poor quality and very disappointed. Won't be placing another order.... Show more

First time shirring
Sewed up a Style Arc 'Ariana' dress, which included a shirred back panel-- a new technique for me to learn. Gave it a go with some Gutermann elastic thread and was pretty pleased with the result!... Show more

good!
i bought this to sew stretchy fabric with, and overall it seems good! the quality is nice (as to be expected with gutermann) and 11 yards lasts long than you think, as you only use it on the bobbin thread. will purchase again!... Show more

Great!
This thread is great for shirring or bunching up your fabric a little bit. It is slippery when trying to wind the bobbin though, so be careful.... Show more

In response to type of needle
No more small elastic casings for me! I make a lot of baby clothes and this elastic thread sure save time for the small things that call for some stretch. Like around the legs of shorts or around the arms of blouses. In response to the comment on what type of needle is needed, the elastic thread is only used in the bobbin. Your regular sewing thread is used for the top. Unfortunately, this particular elastic thread doesn't come with that instruction.... Show more

Mixed Results
I bought two spools of this thread in-store, one navy and one white. I began with the navy spool to try shirring for the first time. I spent over an hour adjusting tension settings etc and it did not work at all. The spool was nearly all used up and my fabric scraps I practiced with still were not shirring. Then I tried the white elastic thread- didn’t change any settings- and it worked like a charm! So the navy spool must have been old? Or defective? I really don’t know. Disappointed that I spent time and money on one that didn’t work (but at least I know the problem was with the thread, not me or my machine!)... Show more

Shirring
Worked great for shirring a toddler costume. I gave it four stars because as a beginner, having basic directions (elastic thread only goes into the bobbin) would have saved me an extra purchase. Not that I will not use what I bought, but not until some future project. Now to find a place that sells it in bulk. Shirring is great for maternity...... Show more

Useful garment
Good quality elastic thread. I've used it to re-thread a broken bead bracelet. It worked perfectly and thethe elastic appears to be quite strong. Highly reccommend this item.... Show more
