Haakaa Generation 3 Silicone Pump and Bottle Pack - Grey

I am still awaiting the arrival of our little one but am super excited to be prepared for our breastfeeding journey with the gen 3 Haakaa. After reading and watching alot of reviews decided this is just what I'm after. Compact and Easy to use. Bonus is supporting an NZ brand too.P.S loved the little gifts I got when I un boxed everything. Thank you

Bottle too heavy to be functional

I really love the product but the bottle is too heavy even though the flange sucks onto me well, which means the slightest kick from my baby and the whole thing falls. Milk has gone everywhere on 3 seperate occasions. I heard the original haka is much better because it’s lighter and stays on, which is a shame. I love the idea of the milk going straight into a bottle but the weight of the bottle is a design flaw and even worse when it’s full of milk (heavier and messier when it detaches)

Breastfeeding must have!!

I cannot recommend the Haakaa enough! It is a must have for all breastfeeding mums! When breastfeeding I always have it on my other boob to catch every drop of liquid gold I would otherwise be wasting. I even wear it whilst driving or cooking dinner if I feel engorged as the suction is incredible.Being able to pump straight into the bottle is also super handy and less messy- every drop counts!I now buy this for all my pregnant friends!!

Disappointing.

I came across the Haakaa breast pumps on Instagram and was so excited to get my hands on one. I decided to go with the gen 3 premium pump pack as it had the covers and the teats as well as the pump attachment. Loved the packaging and the look of the pump - but unfortunately thats where it ended for me. The first issue I had was with the bottle when attached to the teat - one of the two bottles I have had quite a bad leak where they join together. I checked and triple checked that it was screwed on correctly and firmly and still every time I tilted it to feed my baby, it would leak out at the join.I have had very little success getting a good seal around the breast despite trying many different positions. I try for about 20 minutes with little to no luck getting a good suction and usually end up hand expressing.I also find the teat difficult to work with. It is a soft silicone which is great but it creases and pops down which makes it difficult for my baby to drink.I have seen so many positive reviews so I have no doubt that it’s a great brand with some great products but unfortunately I have had a disappointing experience. Such a shame.

Excellent product! Just a bit heavier than the original ...

I recently purchased the Gen 3 pump and bottle pack which comes with interchangeable flange/teat/lid. It's very useful to be able to collect milk directly into the bottle that you later feed baby with. I find it most useful to attach when using the electric pump and catch the let down on the other side.I still prefer my original hakaa for use during baby feeding, as its lighter - the Gen 3 is quite heavy in comparison, so I don't find it as easy to use with baby squirming around on the other breast. I also find that folding back the flange to place on the breast it pops back into position if I'm trying to do it one handed, another reason it's difficult to use whilst holding baby.Overall I love the quality, and am happy with my purchase.

Gen 3 pump not as good as Gen 1

I bought a Gen 1 and a Gen 3 together. Gen 1 works wonderfully, best thing ever. Gen 3 takes a bit for the milk to actually flow down, and also not as compact and easy to use. It's not bad without the baby, but with a baby on the other breast Gen 3 is a bit on the way. It's also a little heavier and kinda dragging my breast down.I have gone back and bought 3 more of Gen 1 so I don't have to wash them every 3 hours. Love Haakaa products overall.

Good pumps

The order didn’t come with any instructions, and as a first time mum I didn’t know what I was doing and had to YouTube how to use the pump. Took a few practices but I got the hang of it. Easy to attach while I feed baby and I end up with a full bottle after feeding her. The bottle has fallen off a couple times as the suction has loosen when the bottle gets too heavy. The milk does take awhile to warm up as the bottle is thick. I do love that all the tops are interchangeable.

Life saver

I’m a first time mum, 8 days in to this incredible journey. On day 4 when my milk Truly came in, I spent 24 hours in hot engorged pain. This Haakaa was literally a sanity and life saver. Bubs wasn’t able to latch at all so I expressed feeds for just over a day and then woke up a different woman! Since then, I use it on my other side to catch my let down and already have so many full bags frozen ready for my return to work. Cord free, easy to use and great to have the option for a nipple on top so anyone can feed. HIGHLY recommend

Preferred the travel 100ml size

I find the gen 3 is heavy and pulls on the boob. It also is quite big and gets in the way of baby feeding. He is constantly kicking it. It doesn’t suction as well as the travel one either. All round I used it a dozen times and wasn’t a fan. However I do use the all silicone 100ml travel size.Also I’m not a huge fan of the silicone bottles, it’s take ages to heat the breast milk up in. Not so fun when your sleep deprived and have a screening baby wanting a top up after their breast feed.

The Gift of Peace

Ordering was super simple and the delivery time was amazing. Nanny ordered at some ungodly time of the night and it was on the doorstep 2 days later. Our newborn took to the Orthodontic nipple as if it was mum's, which is giving her a much-needed rest break and dad time to help feed. The pump and necklace arrangement we bought is also a godsend, as Mum is taking antibiotics at the moment and recovering from a cesarean, so anything to make her life easier, works for us. I bought a Haakaa pump and bottle/nipple kit for my daughter when her baby was born and she had mastitis and again, an absolute godsend for the whole whānau, so it was a no-brainer when our newest bundle of joy arrived.
