I received this product in exchange for a review, but sadly it didn't work for my shoulder length hair. My partner, however, loves it - it provides excellent hold on his short hair without weighing if down as some waxes and pomades can do. He ends up with a very naturally textured effect, which lasts until he washes it out the next day.The only reported downside is that it can make his hair feel a little dry by the end of the day, but this seems to be the product itself drying out a little rather than his hair being damaged.

I was delighted to receive this from Space NK to review as my thick curly hair is cut into a very short pixie and I use clay to style it. Sadly it was disappointing. The product itself feels in the hand more like a thick cream than a clay, and that carries through to its performance in the hair. Even if I used a large amount, it was really indiscernible in my hair. The textured effect that a good clay gives was completely missing. It might suit fine hair.

This probably wasn't the most appropriate product for me as I have very long hair and it couldn't really handle the weight. It did add some height at the roots but tended to fall down after a while. It would work very well for short hair and I can see that the texture feels luxurious - not too sticky. In terms of understanding its feel - it's very much like actual clay (as one would use to make pottery) but obviously much more refined in texture. There is very little fragrance, but if smelling closely, you can detect a quite pleasant earthy clay smell.

I received this as a promotion from Space NK. I have a pixie style so I use a hair wax so was keen to try it. I found it too heavy and didn't like the texture in my hair. However, I gifted it to a friends son, who thought it was very good. He liked its flexibility, the almost non-existent scent and the fact that lasted all day and didn't make the hair look greasy. I prefer to add some shine with a product (as I have blond hair) and this product doesn't add any shine. I am sticking to my original product m=but y friend's son is really enjoying this.
This is a great product! Super easy to apply and lasts well. It doesn’t feel too sticky and can be reapplied without leaving bits in your hair or making it look too ‘done’. I’ve been starting with a small amount and building up to get the look I want, but honestly, you could do your hair with this product and make it look great in about 10 seconds! A bonus is the fresh smell and nice looking pot - but even without this, it’s well worth the investment.
I received this as part of a testing and review promotion through Space NK. The design of the packaging looks really lovely and high end. I have long fine hair, so passed this onto someone with thick short hair. He thought it looked good and did what it was supposed to do, however was shocked at the price point. He didn’t think it did much more than his normal clay to warrant the considerably higher price.
I received this product to try and review, but sadly I realised that it wasn't suitable for my shoulder length straight hair. I therefore handed it to my husband to trial. The packaging is smart and appealing to any gender. Both my husband and I liked the smell of the product too - a light woody/cedar fragrance that we didn't think was overpowering. To touch, the product has a thick creamy texture. You warm it in your hands first and it is ready to use quickly compared with other clays that are much harder and take quite a bit of work to smooth to a workable texture. When put in the hair, it was easy to work and the hair didn't clog in clumps like with some clays. You couldn't see the product as it melts easily into the hair. It enabled my husband to style his hair easily, but it provided a medium hold rather than a firm hold. He liked this as it was a more natural look and felt more natural to touch throughout the day. It held his hair more or less how he wanted, but he did feel that it was getting flatter by the end of the day which would not have been the case with a more heavy hold clay. After a week of trial, my husband has used half of the pot, so the quantity is probably 10 days to 2 weeks worth of product. My husband would buy this product again. He thinks that it would be most suited to short, fine hair that doesn't need a heavy product to hold it for styling.
Thanks to SpaceNK for sending me this product to try.I’ve been using it for around 3 weeks now and really like it. It has a woody scent, which I find pleasant and isn’t too obtrusive. The clay is a soft hold which works well for my (very short, thickish) hair at the moment though it might not be so good if my hair was longer. I like the matt finish and the product doesn’t make my hair feel sticky. It also washes off hair and hands easily. The pot is small, but has a nice weight to it which is pleasant to pick up. I can’t comment on how long it’ll last yet - but not much product is needed at a time. I'm certainly planning to keep using this.
This has a faint herbal scent. I use a tiny amount, warm the thick paste by rubbing with my fingers and use it to style my fringe. Works well and keeps it in place even through the windy weather. Trick is not to use too much, otherwise hair feels stiff and weighed down. Brushes out without leaving any residue. My son uses it to style his short hair but I feel it is not any more special than his cheaper hair styling clays.
My hair type is dry and curly, so I was apprehensive about how this clay would work in my hair. However, it works really well for 'slick-back' looks, not even the wind can dislodge my hair which is great. I have also experimented with it to hold my curls in once I have diffused- it actually achieves a lot of volume and hold...My boyfriend has also used this, on much shorter, thicker hair, and has enjoyed using it. So, this product is definitely unisex. The only critique I have is that there doesn't seem to be a scent to it, which is good in some ways as it doesn't seem artificial, but it would maybe reflect the price point a little more in feeling more luxurious. Also, when applying it with the fingers, it can go really tacky on the hands and dry into 'clumps'.
