My 9 month old lab has always pulled on the lead. So much so I couldn't let my 7 year old daughter hold the lead anymore as she is just far too strong. Read a few reviews on the Halti harness...Read some amazing reviews and some not so good. I really needed something to change. Ahsoka pulled horrendously when walking with my daughter (I think its a dominance thing) but I thought I would give this a go as I wasnout of ideas. My puppy HATES harnesses with a passion. She's always wriggled out of them and bitten them, so that was the first challenge; bit once we were outside it was ok, treats and praise etc. Within 10 minutes my daughter was holding onto the lead while Ahsoka trotted along so nicely and calmy- it was like walking a different dog!! I am absolutely blown away by how well this works. 3 days later and she now walks on a loose lead (bought the additional strap which is also brilliant). She does still pull towards food on the floor, which is unavoidable but once back on track she's plodding next to me and I am enjoying walks so much more. So glad I gave it a go. It hasn't rubbed under her legs as the padding is really thick and soft. And a medium size was ideal for her with some growing room too.Overall very pleased with this and for the price too it was worth the gamble.

I wasn't expecting this harness to perform as well as it has. The padding under the armpits is excellent. While it may not have stopped my Staffy pulling, she responds instantly with a gentle tug whereas with other harnesses she keeps pulling. Ive recently ordered the lead to go with it as Im hopefull that using the front clip as well will give me even more control.

Our little girl pulls and lunges. This harness helped for about a week, until she got used to it. To be fair, we have used a previous harness within the last 6 months. We were not happy, so we tried this Halti. We still opted for the pinch collar. It's the only thing that has held her attention. We would recommend for comfort and easy to put on. We just needed something more. Thank you.

I bought this harness in desperation as I've been struggling to walk my 25kg pup recently. He's unbelievably strong and out pulls me with the usual anti pull harnesses.Todays walk in this harness was a dream. I could even steer him one handed using my pinky and index fingers! Crazy! I do worry that it doesn't 'look' the strongest for a chunky dog but I hope it stays in one piece as I'm in love! A few of the reviews mention the loop that's left trailing if they are off lead, I don't know if it's a new addition but there is an elastic loop to put it through so it's not trailing. This review has been left after only one walk but I'm hopeful it will continue to help me while I get some training done in the background!
I bought this harness because my little Boston Terrier wants to be the lead dog when walking him and my boyfriend's Choclate Lab. I have purchased many harnesses in the past but he would literally choke himself from pulling. The Halti harness is made so well that he doesn't have any of those issues. And the Halti harness was cheaper than all those other harnesses that claimed to be for dogs that pull. Thank you so much Chewy!
I have a 1.5 year old English Setter pup who has given me a rotator cuff injury and nearly ruined my hips from torque from his voracious pulling. I have tried 2 trainers and a fair number of gimmicks. I had simply stopped walking him.I read about this solution skeptically because other harnesses make him pull harder (like a sled dog) or walk lopsided (chest-only attachment). But I decided it was worth a shot.I bought the Halti harness and the Halti leash to double-leash him (it clips to BOTH the front and back at the same time…it is easier than it sounds). He still had the normal length of a 6 foot lead. When he walked loose it had no tension but when he starts to pull it tightens (martingale style in the back clip) and also the front clip lets me steer him and ... MoreI have a 1.5 year old English Setter pup who has given me a rotator cuff injury and nearly ruined my hips from torque from his voracious pulling. When he walked loose it had no tension but when he starts to pull it tightens (martingale style in the back clip) and also the front clip lets me steer him and slow him down rapidly. He doesn’t have the single pressure point to bear down against and pull with all his strength! :)I feel much better using this than a standard collar. I was very worried about long term damage to his spine / neck.
This harness guarantees no pulling, however, it wasn’t the case for my pup. I did not have super high hopes because everything marketed as “no pull” is gamble. I also failed to realize that it really should only be paired with a leash that has two clips. When it said “Halti Training Lead” I assumed that meant leash. But after re-reading, the correct description is ALL the way at the bottom. Did not work for my 75 pound shep/bully mix.
So I have a Siberian Husky, Nightmare when walking, he has to be at the front, and for whatever reason he has to get where we are going faster than we need to despite us not actually going anywhere in particular. I've tolerated his pulling for years, 3 to be precise and I used a normal harness and attempted to train him with BAD BOY and GOOD BOY but he doesn't really seem to care about either of these labels he just wants to run off. To make it clear he is very loved and looked after. Any way I thought I would buy a no pull harness because on the box it says, 'stops pulling - guaranteed'. Perhaps I've found my dogs calling in life, harness quality control. Perhaps I've found my dogs calling in life, harness quality control. I can only assume the dog they trialled it on was sleeping at the time because he certainly was not a disobedient, yet lovable husky. The harness itself has a very comfortable feel and I'm confident my dog felt the benefits of the padding and padded sleeves while pulling compared to his old strap webbing type harness. When he did pull initially for the first time while wearing this harness I thought, brilliant instant fix, god bless company of animals. But it did not take long for my loveable husky to get used to the new sensation and just ignore it. 30minutes into the walk and I was once again being pulled. Would I recommend the harness? Yes I would because it looks cool and I felt like a good dog owner while walking my Husky in it. The harness feels very sturdy and with the two clipping points on the harness I do feel that it is secure and durable. That said I did find that attaching one end of the lead to the back attachment point of the harness and attaching the other end of the double lead to my dogs collar worked better than attaching it to the front of the harness for correcting him when he pulled too much. Also the harness is so easy to put on it slips over the head and then feed the legs into the straps, this alone is why I am glad I purchased it, also for information I bought a medium, perfect fit
I have a young husky mix. She's high engery of course. This worked wonders compared to regular leashes and slip leads. She would try to choke herself on a lead. I have tried to redirect and get it to stop. But no good. I needed a new harness that she couldn't weasel out of or just pull until she tired herself out in. I was looking for no pull or low pull training harnesses. This came as the best for the budget and how it helps with pullers. She is sadly smart and has sharp teeth. She chewed through one shoulder strap quick while I wasn't paying too much attention and she was on a runner for a few minutes. I might of put it on the harness looser rhan normal. But the company has a chew warranty. Just send in a photo and proof of purchase. They're wonderful, plus while ... MoreI have a young husky mix. She's high engery of course. They're wonderful, plus while I had the harness all pulling on the runner or walks was either easier to correct until it completely stopped. She also has seemed to calm down a lot since using this harness. Even walking with a collar and leash has been easy. But in case she ever pulls again I trust a harness, especially this harness more. I fully recommend trying it for yourself, because of the chew warranty, plus if you don't like it or doesn't work for your pup. You can always get your money back.
Having a hard time finding a harness for my puppy who likes to pull when he gets excited. This harness doesn't work simply because I have arthritis and find the thing on the back impossible to navigate- you have to tighten it when putting on the dog every time and my hands just can't do it. So..if you have dexterity issues with your hands I would absolutely not recommend. This could be the best harness of all time- I will never know because I could only manage to adjust it one time. Embarrassing but true!
