Hamilton H70455733 Watch - Khaki Field

I picked up the khaki field automatic 38mm on the black leather strap. The brushed finishing on the metal case looks very nice, and the strap feels like a high quality leather. The military field look is present with the design of this watch and does a really good job with it. I’m getting about +2 seconds a day on the watch, very accurate and easy to read. I enjoy the comfort of extra shock resistance in the newer movement. The lume is good, the hour and minute hands lume will last you all night. I haven’t had to wind this watch yet, the 80 hour power reserves seem to be doing the job quite nicely, makes it an easy watch to grab and go in the morning. Very satisfied with the khaki auto!!

Beautiful historically important watch that looks great with pretty much anything. Can also change the look by changing the strap. Excellent watch.

The movement is basically an ETA 2824-2 (Hamilton calls it their H10), and if you know anything about this particular movement, then you know it’s a rugged workhorse that will run forever with periodic servicing. It runs about -1 second/day, which is quite amazing considering the price point. I haven’t had it off my wrist long enough to really test the power reserve yet. The sapphire crystal doesn’t have an anti-reflective coating, but that’s not a big deal to me. The dial is still beautiful and legible with minimal glare. I haven’t submerged the watch into water fully, yet, but it is rated for 10 bar of water resistance, so I’m certain I will try it at some point (with a water resistant strap). It worries me a little that it doesn’t have a screw down crown, but that’s still not a deal breaker for me. The strap for this model is a premium grain leather, which only took a day or so to soften up. It is fairly comfortable right out of the box, but after a day of wear you won’t even know it’s on your wrist, until you check the time of course. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it to others who are seeking the same things in a time piece.

I thought I got a good deal on ebay, but the watch was slow about 2-3 minutes every day. I took it to the watchmaker that said: "Theres a screw that goes into a tube that holds the crown wheel in place. And that comes up and down every so often and it's actually interfering with the automatic unit and it's actually starting to shave some of the metal off the weight. Most likely some of the shaving I've gone into the movement so that I have to clean it and then I have to get either the tube, if the tube is not available, I need to get that plate for that screw to go back in so it's all said and done the estimate to do this for you is around $375." Stunning watch and absolutely incredible value at this price! The whole piece is quality and has the feel of a watch that cost more money. The attention to detail on the face is exquisite and stainless steel case is really well made. The movement of the second hand is sweeping and the date complication subtle. It’s an affordable collector’s piece. Fill your boots!

The watch is exactly as I expected, no scratches or imperfections as far as I can tell. The movement has the perfect level of audibility, it's not distracting or even audible at all in a room with any sort of background noise. But when it's quiet you can hear it faintly while on your wrist and it's still no where near loud when by your ear. The machining is high quality and the leather strap is excellent, the only downside is I have a very small wrist so maybe another hole for strap size adjustment and more closely spaced holes for more granularity as the smallest hole is just a tad loose on my wrist.

Beautifully made quality watch. I’ve tested the accuracy and it has gained 4 secs in 24hrs, which is pretty good for an automatic watch. I love the glass back to see the gorgeous movement. The leather strap became very supple very quickly (about a day). It is the best watch I’ve owned and I’ve had some pretty expensive watches.

These Hamilton Khaki watches are really undervalued for their quality. Even being "just" a field watch, the fit and finish on this is outstanding. i receive compliments on mine often.
