These boots are extremely comfortable, despite being quite stiff. But the leather is top notch and I can see these boots going through several soles before they get replaced. They are on the warmer side. But I could wear them early season without much issue. These are my boots for all seasons. They’ll be a tad warm in early season and a tad cool in late season snow. Very happy with this purchase.

I have long narrow feet and skinny ankles, and have had a hard time finding the right fitting boots; until these arrived. They are just the right volume with my insoles and the collar has plenty of space between the right and left to be tightened down. After years of wearing Whites for desert and forest fire fighting, I am tired of sloppy ankle boots packing out. These honestly feel like socks and are surprising lite for a heavy duty boot. Plus the craftsmanship seems to be on par with Lowas which are owned by the brother of Mr. Hanwag. Looking forward to putting some Mike’s on them this weekend. I would recommend ordering a full size down from your regular shoes. I wear a men’s 10 Nike Pegasus and I ordered these in a US men’s 9.

These boots are awesome. Tried other brands over the years but HanWag tops my list. Used in extreme conditions (logging)and go through a pair a yearThe lady that sold the boots to me was great and knew all the info on the different models.

Just got my Alaska's, i had to go a 1/2 size under the recommendation from the go hunt staff, however that just could be my feet, I have ordered other boots from their recommendations and they have been spot on. Boots seem incredibly durable and are extremely comfortable. I am looking forward to many years and adventures with these badass boots, 10/10.
I was very pleased with the purchase of my new boots. This is the first pair of true mountain boots I've owned and they really fit the bill. The purchase and shipping from GoHunt was smooth and speedy. I also like the fact I received points back to use on a future purchase.
Hanwag Alaska gtx Wide ,is the most comfortable hunting boot I have ever worn. The wide foot bed & toe box make for a extremely comfortable fitting boot,. Superfeet green, wide insoles make them that much better. Nice & stiff for for packing heavy loads . I've only got 13 miles in them so far. Hiking with a 20 ish lbs pack in light snow today, great traction, Gortex lined so they are a little on the warm side , gonna try them out in Kodak Alaska early season deer King Salmon. Love the leather padding on the collar. I will submit an review after I've broken the in more.

My other Hanwag, Banks got a hole in it when I mildly kicked into a root. So I gave away my useless Alaska GTX for free, scrapped the Banks too, and bought a Scarpa Zodiac Plus instead.
These boots will take a few days of walking in the hills for a proper break in. In my experience boots that take some breaking in will last longer and not fall apart after hauling heavy loads and traversing steep rugged country. My feet have stayed dry in some wet conditions but I haven’t had them very long. Time to put them to work for rifle season! 🤙
I like my new Hanwag Alaska GTX boots. It was 2 wks. before they came? I was told you had 3 pair in my size. UPS and USPS were involved in the shipping. Just curious. The boots came on Sunday morn. and after walking around the house and deciding they were a good fit I went out for a 3 mile shake down hike. I now have about 15 miles on them. They are stiff but will loosen up as the miles add up. They are taller than the Asolo 520 TPS I was wearing and the right boot seems to rub or chafe a little, from the colar, on my leg. Nothing wrong with the mfg. that I can see. Must be the way I walk?
I wrote a review for these boots last year and stated that I didn't think they would make a great all season boot because of their weight. I just wrapped up a 9-day mid-September Wyoming archery elk trip and wore these boots on days 2-9. Temps ranged from 32 overnight up to mid 70's during the hottest days and my feet were never hot. I also didn't find the boots to be heavy. I really love the lacing system on these boots and they let me make the necessary adjustments to make a 120# pack out as comfortable as possible. Conditions on this trip weren't terribly wet, but I sank in to some mud holes up over the laces on multiple occasions and never got a drop of moisture into these boots. I do think these make a very viable option for an all season boot. I don't wear them during training because I often train at near 100f in the summer, but when I am on the mountain these boots have never failed me. I have one more elk trip this year and two tags left so these boots still have work ahead of them, but I have no doubt they will show up and work as hard as I can push them.
