Snoo is a technological marvel. Snoobear is not. Do not expect this to operate like the Snoo’s sound machine. It does not automatically adjust its own volume in response to baby, neither does it change between the different available sound options. All changes must be done manually, and you need to memorize combinations of pushing buttons you cannot see through the bear’s body or else open it up in order to make changes. As others have noted, it only remains responsive to baby for a few hours, so if you want this to soothe a baby who wakes in the middle of the night or early morning, once again it falls short. I ordered the brown without realizing that there was a white option, and I don’t like the color. Perhaps white would have been better. It is not even soft or ... MoreSnoo is a technological marvel. So I really wanted to like this product, but it just doesn’t get the job done. It has the sounds from the Snoo and a few different levels of volume, but we are running into two problems: 1) you can only pick between 30 and 60 minutes of time. As soon as the timer turns the sound off my son wakes up and we have to start over again. 2). When the timer ends it emits three quiet beeps. I thought at first this was a low battery signal, but we’ve changed the batteries three times and still have it happening. The Snoobear is also supposed to listen and turn back on if baby starts crying but I’ve only had that work a handful of times. Maybe my son cries too quietly…?Also, I find changing the buttons for changing volume and sound difficult to control- especially when you ... I cannot count how many times my daughter (who is just over 7mo at the time of this review) has awakened in the night, started crying out, and immediately the SNOO Bear kicks back on and she is soothed back to sleep! And my head never left the pillow... Just like with the SNOO bassinet (that I had for 5 months with this same baby and LOVED).$60 for a teddy bear with white noise may seem steep, but the DSP technology that actually listens for your child's cry is state of the art and very-well programmed. (I'm guessing it turns on based on a certain decibel threshold since little fusses don't turn it on but a louder cry out will trigger it).Yes, the batteries don't seem to last as long as I would have liked - sometimes I get a couple weeks, sometimes only a few ... And yes, it's annoying to need to use a Philips head screwdriver to change them. However, this is a FIRST GENERATION product developed by a very small company. So I am not docking any stars for that.Another thing I would like to see potentially improved upon in the future is a more "gentle crescendo/decrescendo" when the white noise turns on/off, much like how the SNOO basinet works. But again, it's not worth docking any stars since this is first to market and the only one of its kind. The SNOO Bear has helped all of us sleep better, period. I believe it was a huge part of why the transition from SNOO basinet to a crib was so smooth for us. I highly recommend it.

I absolutely love this bear- I feel like it should be on everyone’s registry list because it’s literally the only lovey you will need. I love the look of the cocoa wooly one but the cream plush is actually the softest so it’s my favorite. I think kiddos with potential sensory challenges will love the plush because it is soooo soft! At first I didn’t really get how many features there were - I just thought it was a bear with white noise - but my baby loves when I make it a puppet too. The first time I did this she wasn’t sure what to think, but now she loves it. I also love how this can be strapped onto a crib or stroller. Those portable sound makers/shushes are so ugly usually, but this one is actually cute! And functional! And I don’t have to worry about it being a ... Those portable sound makers/shushes are so ugly usually, but this one is actually cute! And functional! And I don’t have to worry about it being a safety risk either. It takes a minute to figure out how to click it to get the sound going but once you figure it out it’s very easy to use. This was definitely her first lovey once we got cleared to have stuffed animals in the crib (before 12 months we had it strapped to the crib corner and I think she liked having it keep her company). I can see possibly removing the sound box when she is a little older and keeping this for years. As of now we still use this as white noise at night which still helps her sleep at 15 months. I would recommend going straight from the Snoo to this to help the transition to the crib.
This bear is wonderful. We used the Snoo for both our babies, and love it. I wished there was a way to keep the Snoo sound when our babies transferred to their cots at 6 months of age. I saw this bear, but was put off by poor reviews, but I wish I had bought it earlier. This bear is fantastic. It feels lovely and soft, makes the exact same Snoo sound (as well as five other sounds), its easy to use, and doesn't use batteries too quickly. It is easy to wash in the washing machine. We use it for all naps/sleep, and take it on the go with us to help a very inquisitive one year old sleep when were out. Highly recommend.
I’m a parent of 4 grown children and have 4 grandchildren. My grandchildren visit and spend a few weeks each summer–the younger two both typically have many challenges falling sleep and staying asleep until morning. I saw the SNOO Bear at a conference exhibit and wondered if it would be helpful for older children (boy, 6 years and girl 7 years) who are active, athletic, and think of themselves as “big kids”. So, I wasn’t sure if they would laugh or embrace the bear…was it too young for them or a comfort they could benefit from at night? The SNOO Bear is cuddly, comforting and offers soothing white noise. Decided to give it a try -- especially this year, their family is in the military, and they’ve recently relocated from west coast to east coast. The children are missing their friends in the west and a little anxious about a new school next month in the east, awaiting the move into their new home, and more – these thoughts always seem to surface at bedtime—until, enter SNOO Bear!Wow! The first night they saw the SNOO Bears they embraced them and now they are part of their sleep routine. They know how to restart the soothing sounds if they awake in the night. It’s been incredibly helpful to have them! I’ve never seen my grandchildren fall asleep so easily – he flips to the louder white noise and refers to it as the “T-Rex sound” and she likes the sound she’s identified as “the rain sound”. They work! They’ve now used them for about 15 nights, as a result, we’ve all slept well. Without hesitation, I highly recommend the SNOO Bear!
I wanted to use the SNOObear to help my little one transition out of the SNOO which she loved so much! I also chose to purchase the bear since it plays our favorite SNOO sound and it was hard to find a similar sound elsewhere. The SNOO was so awesome that I had high expectations of the bear, but I'm sad to say it has fallen short in the following ways:- The material is quite rough and sheds. I'm hoping after a few more washings the bear will be soft enough that you'll actually want to touch it.- I wish it had louder volume options. I assume the sound machine is meant to stay inside of the bear when in use, but even on the loudest setting the sound is quite muffled.- And the biggest disappointment is that the bear only plays sound for 30 or 60 minutes, which I ... While it "listens" for 3 hours (and pleased to say it does turn back on!) which is great for nap time, over a 12 hour nighttime sleep it just isn't enough.Since we had such a great experience with our SNOO (and I will use it again with future children), I wanted to love this bear just as much! Unfortunately, I think what I really want is for Happiest Baby to make a stand alone sound machine or add the real SNOO sounds to the app (I'd gladly pay for that upgrade!) so that we can enjoy the continuous sounds all night long even after our SNOO journey has ended.
The responsiveness of the SNOO bear is not quite the same as the SNOO bassinet. The SNOO bear will not change tracks from the baseline soundtrack escalating to level 1 then escalating to level 2, etc. in a response to baby’s crying. The responsiveness in this product refers to the SNOO bear turning back on within 3 hours of initial manual activation in response to sounds, but it will only play the one soundtrack that is programmed to play. Changing soundtracks can only be done manually. This is an important distinction about how the SNOO bear is responsive when compared to the SNOO bassinet. Buyers should be aware of this.
The concept is sound but the execution is not. This product would be much better if the sound machine is in a different position. It’s too easy to turn on or off. You grab this bear and the sound turns on. My newborn grabs it and it turns on. It’s like this bear was not designed to be cuddled. Regret this impulse buy.If only the sound machine could be relocated, then it would be a much much better product.
Personally I love this bear. Our daughter was transitioning out of the SNOO bassinet and I couldn’t find anything with the same noises. the only thing I truly wish the bear did - especially for the price was hook up to the snoo app so that when i’m in another room and the bear times out and i can see on my monitor if my kiddo starts to wake up a little before actually crying signaling the bear to turn on again I can turn it on and manage which sound/volume/time. I feel like that would be another huge game changer for this bear. plus the buttons are loud so in the middle of the night or when i’m laying a sleepy baby down for the night the loud button isn’t ideal and honestly that’s another place that having the app linked to the bear would just come in so handy for ...
