JK Rowling is one of my absolute favorite authors. The Harry Potter series is phenomenal as well as her various other titles are just as impressive. She is imaginative and mysterious, mythical and magical. It is so much fun to read her books. I will always support her.

Though with the illustrated novels, you will have to wait a year between each book like I had to as a kid, but it'll be even more worth it to have the amazing pictures to accompany it.

I love these harry Potter series and this book was actually my turning point in reading not that I did not read before that but I was attracted to series and trilogy after reading this I’m excited to give this set to our neighbor and classmates for them to enjoy and return. I have been wanting to read the whole series for a while and I am very pleased with the quality of this paperback set for the price. I expected mass market paperback quality considering it was priced apt.Always one of my favourite fantasy fictions. The box set was finely packed and the best gift I could give myself to survive this lockdown. No complaints, go ahead and indulge yourself into the best of worlds reading these books for knowledge, entertainment , vocabulary.

Awesome children's novel; great value for a period-accurate hardcover.
17 February 2023

First of all: the one I got was not a Bloomsbury hardcover, but a Ted Smart 2nd printing from, I believe, 1998. Apart from some age related wear (the dust jacket is a bit wrinkled, and the union between the last pages and the endpapers is worn), it's in great condition, no missing or damaged pages. About the novel: what can be said about this book that hasn't been said in 25 years? It's charming, fun, witty, and the main mystery of the year is great. We get to know a bit about magic world history from before Harry's time, and new characters make a lasting impression, while Harry, Ron and Hermione's friendship develops in a believable way.

EXCELLENT BOOK
27 October 2021

These books are exquisite. I am so happy to own the first 2 and can't wait for the next 5 to be released. These books are an amazing addition to any Harry Potter collection. I do not recommend these books for children as the interactive pages are extremely delicate. What else can I say other than that I'm ready to dive in and reread the chamber of secrets for the umpteenth time.

Great book!

I love the whole Harry Potter series. Love this book particularly. Got it as a replacement, as my original one was just worn out. Book was everything that was stated. New/Almost new condition. A tiny bit of shelf wear. Otherwise, it was perfect. Fairly fast ship. Well packaged. Well worth the money.

Such a beautiful edition!

What can I say about Harry Potter that has not been said before? It is witty, complex plot and enchanting. This Gift edition is truly beautiful. This gift edition hardback, presented in a beautiful foiled cloth slipcase decorated with brand new line art by Jonny Duddle. It looks extremely beautiful but more importantly its readable without worry about the book being destroyed. This will delight readers as they follow Harry and his friends through their second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.Definitely recommend for all the Harry Potter fans out there.

THE MAGIC IS BACK!!!!!!!!!
14 August 2015

The second book of this much adored series of YA Fantasy starts off with Harry back at the Dursleys for the summer holidays, but this time, feeling even more unloved and unwanted than usual, a surprising visitor appears in his bedroom. It does not take long for Harry to determine why none of his friends have made contact with over the break. The truth is, they have, in record numbers, even, but the said 'surprising visitor' has been collecting all traces of contact from Harry's friends without passing them on.The visitor turns out to be Dobby the House Elf, who has taken it upon himself to prevent Harry's return to Hogwarts. The truth is, they have, in record numbers, even, but the said 'surprising visitor' has been collecting all traces of contact from Harry's friends without passing them on.The visitor turns out to be Dobby the House Elf, who has taken it upon himself to prevent Harry's return to Hogwarts. He is of the opinion that a murder attempt will be made on Harry if he does, but either out of ignorance, or protection for Harry, the elf is unable to provide any more information. Interestingly, at this point, the elf disappears from the story...As we all know, friends aren't friends without faith, so out of the blue, just when Harry needs him most, the much welcome face of Ron Weasley appears at Harry's bedroom window with the last opportunity for him to escape to sanity (?) and spend the last few weeks of Summer at Ron's house before returning to Castle Magnificence, also known as Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry.Time passes. Jokes are made. Friendships deepen into something more. And off to Hogwarts we go. Well, some of us. The first glimpse of JK Rowling's genius occurs at this point in the story, when Ron comes up with the only way for he and Harry to arrive at Hogwarts after the unthinkable happens. The Malfoys are back, meaner and nastier than ever. Harry and Co are all in their second year now, which means the story has the chance to introduce new characters. Ron's little sister in one of them, and she (naturally) gets put into Gryffindor, too. Snape is back, but he has lost his position as Darks Arts Instructor. A rather annoying narcissist going by the name of Gilderoy Lockhart (where *does* JK get her character names from???) has got the plum role but doubts soon rise to the surface of everyone present at the castle of his competence in this area.Sub plots abound. Jokes are there, too, and of course, fun is to be had by all. Hermoine is still trying to be Hermoine (which is great for her, and great for the reader, since *we* all learn what *she* learns...) and the catalog of spells for the reader continues to grow...The title of the book is compelling enough, even though the reader may not have realised its pivotal connotations. But the continued existence and perpetual threat of He Who Must Not Be Named hanging over the School and everything it stands for, it is bot too gard to imagine how it might all come together. So full marks again for Ms Rowling, the woman who put the wonder back into reading, the fun back into learning, and the magic back into Wizardry. Go GRYFFINDOR!!!!!

Unforgettable, Intriguing Story
10 March 2022

Yet again Rowling provides her readers with an unforgettable, and intriguing story fully captivating with every page. The new plot sees Harry, Ron and Hermione desperately try to solve the mystery of students becoming petrified at Hogwarts. Although the story itself is mysterious and entertaining, the overuse of recapping past events can be viewed as an unnecessary inclusion in the second instalment of this series. Nevertheless, this book was beyond enjoyable treating readers to a much loved protagonist and many antagonists to despise. A brilliant continuation, readers could not help but continue reading the series if this is a taste of what's to come!
