Hawkers Beer founder Mazen Hajjar started the Middle East’s first craft brewery back in July 2006 during the war between Israel and Hezbollah and, after hawking beers on one of his trips to Australia, Mazen made the call to launch Down Under and the Hawkers name is inspired by the street vendors that roamed Australia during colonial times. Hawkers Beer West Coast IPA is a 7.2% ABV brew that has never been accused of subtlety. It’s audacious, unruly and definitely doesn’t wait around for pleasantries, with bucketloads of American and Kiwi hops delivering punchy floral characteristics of citrus, pine and resin.
