A4 I'm 6'2" 250 lbs athletic not fat. This Gi fits very nicely, probably the best fitting GI I own out of the 9 I have. If you are a fatter 250 pound guy you should go with a larger size or go with sanabul which is cut for larger waist guys. The pearl weave is very soft and breathable. Only Origin has better fabric so far in my experience. I will definitely be buying Hayabusa again as it fits me so perfectly. A++++

I bought this item from Amazon. I am a long-time fan of hayabusa, I have a 5 of their rashguards, 3 gis now. Hayabusa products are famous for having the highest quality. However, their previous gis had high shrinkage rate, which made me unable to wear them at tournament. Now, this gi, first of all, is very light, has moderate shrinkage rate, and the pearl weave fabric is woven tightly which make you superior in kumi kata. Moreover, the embroidment next to the lapel prevents your opponent from grabbing it. This is definitely the best gi Hayabusa have ever made.

My favorite Gi. I own all 4 colors. My first 2 years training was in two heavy Fuji Gis. Great products, but I wanted to search for something lighter. This Gi was 100% the answer. Extremely sturdy and fits perfectly (5'9'' 150lb A1).

Bottom-Line Upfront: The Hayabusa Ultra-Light Jiu Jitsu Gi is a fantastic martial arts garment. “The Ultra-Light Jiu Jitsu Gi feels super light and flows with your every move,” according to Hayabusa. In my month of using the gi, I’ve found that it does wear lighter than my other woven gis, and at no point did my movements feel restricted. I’ll try to hit more helpful points in detail below.Comfort: This is a very comfortable gi. Once donned, it is impressively light. The kimono’s smooth interior feels great against the skin, and it seems to absorb sweat quickly; the exterior’s textured weave provides greater surface area, where that sweat can evaporate. The result is a surprisingly cool all-cotton kimono. The kimono’s smooth interior feels great against the skin, and it seems to absorb sweat quickly; the exterior’s textured weave provides greater surface area, where that sweat can evaporate. The result is a surprisingly cool all-cotton kimono. Meanwhile, the ripstop pants move very well -- even compared to my stretchy Taekwondo pants; and the cotton/polyester-blend fabric breathes like a dream.Durability: I’ve been rolling, kicking and striking in this gi for only a month; its construction quality is so high that I don’t anticipate any problems. I cannot evaluate Hayabusa’s “easy to patch” statement. But if any problems develop, I’ll try to amend this review.Size: I’m a slim 6’2” and 175 pounds, which falls outside Hayabusa’s Size Chart. But the A3 fits perfectly. Seriously. The sleeve length is just right (I typically wear a 34 in a dress shirt). My 40-inch chest isn’t swimming within the kimono. And the pants fit perfectly too (I wear 32x34). Comparing gis I already have to Hayabusa’s Jiu Jitsu Gi Dimensions chart was very helpful in choosing my size. As a tall, thin guy, my biggest concern before the purchase was that I’d be sporting high-water Hammer pants; but no worries there.Color: I’ve got this gi in black and blue. Both colors are very rich, and dye lots seem consistent between kimono and pants. Plus they’re the best shades of black and blue I’ve seen on the mats. For “Archer” fans, the black gi is more of a “slightly darker black.”Embroidery: Less is more. This gi’s embroidery is relatively subtle, which was important to me; it’s very well done; and it’s super-cool! Embroidery on the left collar creates kind of a wave in the fabric (i.e., it doesn’t lay flat against the chest), but that hasn’t affected performance.Use: I wear the complete gi for Taekowndo, and I pair the pants with a rashguard for rolling. Taekwondo involves a lot of high aerobic output, so I sweat a lot, no matter what I wear. Most people seemed to think I’d roast alive in a woven kimono, but its open top helps keep me as cool as lighter v-neck Taekwondo tops; and it offers plenty of mobility for punches and blocks. The pants are brilliantly cut, allowing for every kick I want to do, yet (somehow) not seeming baggy.Finish: A very good finish with lots of little details help inspire confidence. The stitching seems solid. I love, love, love the pants’ drawcord! Red ribbon inside all four cuffs is a nice touch too.Washing & Drying: I wash these gis with my other clothes in an HE machine, which does the trick. I tie the pants’ drawchord in a square knot to keep them in place. The gis easily line-dry overnight.Cons: The gi takes up way more room in my training bag than my thinner, lighter Taekwondo dobok -- but I’m happy with that tradeoff. Plus there’s the collar embroidery’s side effect mentioned above. These are non-issues for me; I’ve just nitpicked them in an attempt to balance my review.Customer service: Paula was great! She bent over backwards to make sure I found a good fit, and I’m still very grateful.Summary: This is an outstanding gi for BJJ, TKD and other martial arts. Hayabusa has delivered on its promise of a lightweight, durable and comfortable fighting garment.
Got it delivered today from FedEx. Immediately surprised by the light weight. This is my s cond hayabusa gi. My other Goorudo 3 is to heavy and hot as we have a tropical climate over here (Nova Uniao Thailand).Did 6 rolls with it straight out of the postage box and it is a blessing. Not hot, not restrictive, not heavy and not tiring. It feels great and it looks great. The lapel embroidery makes it hard to grip the gi.Love it.
I love the gi it feels great! I’m 6’1 238lbs I workout 4 days a week and most gis are tight through the shoulders, but this one fits well. I normally get an A5 and dry it in the dryer once or twice to shrink it just a little bit for the perfect fit. Overall I would highly recommend these gis!
5'10", 155 lbs, athletic build with longer armsOriginally bought an A2, returned for an A3My gym is just outside Atlanta, GA, in a semi-conditioned space, i wanted a light weight gi for hot / humid conditions. This gi fits the description. The pants use an elastic rope for the belt - awesome. Great grips on all the cuffs. When hanging side by side with my other gi's, this brand is 1/4" - 1/2" longer than my other A3 gi's.
I purchased a white Hayabusa ultra light gi recently because the first one I bought two or three years ago is holding up great and has become my favorite. There’s no better compliment than that.I also got a couple of tee shirts that are pretty cool.
Its just as advertised; beautiful and well-fitting gi. However, it is not as lightweight as I expected, but perhaps I still need to break it in. I was expecting something a little more thinner of fabric to allow for flexible rolling whereas this gi is studier (albeit, still extremely good quality and workable) than I had anticipated. Still rating it 5 stars because just because I had different materialistic expectations doesn't make it a lesser quality gi!
Lapel on the Gi is thick and hard to grip which is nice. The seem on the wrist is pretty thin and easy to grip if you are competing that could be a problem. As far as the quality I've been using it for two weeks and it fits nicely and is pretty durable at least this far. I recommend it if you are looking for a quality gi. It's light enough where I feel great while training as opposed to other thick style Gis
