Was knitting lace child sweater and having a really tough time. Every mistake only looked worse after I fixed it. Did not want to give so gave your yarn a try. I love the way your yarn knits up. The sweater is not finished but looks great so far. I will be buying more yarn from you. Thanks so much... Show more

This wool isn't even worth one star! It was awful to knit with and was either too thick, very thin, super twisted, or had separated threads. I had to throw so much yarn away and ended up with insufficient wool; yet I should have had more than enough for a ladies cardigan and one for a young child. I have never knitted with such awful wool and I have wasted precious time : I'm now left with a partly knitted cardigan.... Show more

This acrylic yarn I am using (Hayfield Bonus DK Extra value) for an afghan for one of my grandchildren in the colors of the college she is attending this coming fall. This yarn is for sure the best acrylic yarn that I have used in the past. I was so grateful to "stumble" on the Michigan Yarns website. I did live in MI, but live now in a different location already for a long time. Personally I love to see and feel yarn first before I buy it for a project, but the guidance I received over the phone when I contacted Michigan Yarns was excellent. I plan to buy more yarn there for sure when needed. Thanks and keep up the good work! Happy in CO... Show more

No. Some acrylic yarns handle like wool /synthetic mixes and look similar to natural fibres but not this. I found it harsh and firm so went half a hook size up to create more give. I love its colour range but will definitely avoid using this yarn in future. I was tempted to return it but will stash and make a throw to keep in the car... Show more

Arthritis eat your heart out
Think I used this on rugs I made (or perhaps it was on crochet blanket!! It was one of those anyway). Lovely colour, really soft and very easy to work with. When the arthritis hit my hands I honestly thought my dk days were done and I was going to have to start using the thicker stuff that you need the thicker needles for (not the same range of colours in it that, can be harder to get sometimes and can be dearer too). However I've found if I use this and a larger crochet hook (yeah I know you're not supposed to but let's just say artistic license finds a way [sounds better than cheating lol]). Anyway if I do that with this I can still make granny squares and 2 strands of this together will create a thick wool I can knit with. Course that means you can create your ... Bonus DK Yarn
I love working with this yarn as you can achieve a 3D effect where your stitches are prominent which lends itself to crochet puff flower granny squares. You see every stitch. The yarn softens up beautifully after it’s washed. I found no splitting of the yarn while working it. An all rounder with Hayfield doing many many colours means your spoiled for choice. Great value!... Show more

Impressed
Now this I did use on a crochet blanket of different colours. I'd plenty left and so I'm doing another one. Loads of charities and churches etc round here so they can get it to anyone that needs. Working out quite well actually, a church took the box of food away, older grandson took the two boxes of wooden decorations from here away and I dare say the same will happen with this box of blankets. I don't really care who it is to be honest as long as it makes someone's life a bit more bearable and it's not one of those that can well afford but won't put their hand in their pocket. So there you are that's what your wool's getting used for - it's to give ordinary people some warmth or pleasure. And the things from here are so inexpensive it makes such things possible. ... Review of Hayfield Bonus DK
This yarn is almost as soft as Stylecraft special DK and is very easy to work with. Just a hair thicker than the Stylecraft. I bought a total of 34 skeins for my project so I bought 4 different brands to get the colors I wanted. Tge center wasn't too hatd to find and I would buy it again. It's the misty green in the photo.... Show more
