I gave this 4 Stars only because of some difficulty I had in the programming part. In one of the training videos it talks about when your playing the sound drops off as if you’ve got a bad cable or something along those lines. They demonstrate how you need to double tap on the “Input” block on the top left hand side and it opens up a screen that shows what they call a “Global Gate”, and it’s set at about 40db in the video and on the one I had as well. There is a block right above that has a White line to show where it’s set. And when yiu strum a chord with it at this factory setting, it cuts out..Your told to add use the setting to about the middle of the block and this will stop it from cutting out. I did this on my unit however no matter where I put it I was still getting the cut out...it’s very frustrating. I was never able to correct this. Secondly the manual that comes with the unit is very much lacking what I would think are the very basics. I was never able to figure out how to assign the 4 buttons on the bottom. It was confusing, at least to me. I did contact HEADRUSH and was directed to their videos, but once again, the few they have are great at about everything else, but as far as what I was looking for, didn’t help. I am an old school guy from the 70’s and the Marshall, stomp box generation, and being older, yes I know, I so wan this to work, so I can grab this unit and the FRFR speaker cabinet, which is awesome by the way, my guitar and go.. I sent it back and I’m waiting on a replacement unit and I’m going to give it another try......Wish me luck, and yes, I would recommend this to anyone out there. The Headrush effect pedal is not only a fantastic sounding all in one unit but is by far the easiest to use unit out there. I have tried a group of pedals, if not all, to be offerd. The Headrush has amazing sounds. It does it all,and does it very well.It is the best I have used and by far the simplist to use. I love multi effect units but don't like to spend all my time programing as I just want to play. The Headrush has the best sounds and is very user friendly. I had this out of the box and playing in about 15 minutes and that includes reading the instructions that come with it.I love the Headrush and look forward to making music. The large touch screen to just drag and add is amazing. It has it all. Thank you AMS for the excellent service and the payment plans available. It will allow me to get the guitar to go with it! This thing is trash!! It was delivered from a trusted seller and when it arrived it didn't work. That is a testimony to its durability. I looked to see if it may have been a user error, but apparently, I am the only person in the community of owners to have had this issue. Customer service and technical support are none responsive. If there is anything that turns me off more than shotty craftsmanship, it is terrible customer service. I will not buy from this company again. Thanks for the $700 lesson. Didn't think this course was that informative that I would have to forfeit that amount of coin, but I aced it and will never take this class again.

After having this for a few weeks I have to say that I am fairly disappointed in it, but not enough to return it.The touchscreen is awesome and really is the single best feature this pedal has to offer, and the ease of use and variety of signal chain is great, and these are the reasons that I am keeping it.The amp modeling is okay, certainly miles better than my old GNX2 from the early 2000s, but still miles away from the real thing. For me the real let down was seeing just how limited the number of models is. The listed number of amp models in deceptive in my opinion because there is quite a bit of redundancy. How many different vintage Fender tones do they think we need? The effects also seemed incredibly limited in this price range as well. There are more rotary models than reverb and delay put together,... how does that make any sense? To be fair though the rotary models sound REALLY good compared even to many standalone rotary pedals. Some of the models are really bad too, like the Whammy pedal,... it is practically useless. The spring reverb is horrible as well.Like most multi-effects units it does clean fine, ultra heavy passable, and struggles horribly with anything in between.I hope they come out with some firmware updates that add some more models and effects to the unit soon, but I am not too optimistic. If your main concerns are ease of use, this IS the multi-effects pedal for you, hands down,.... but if sound quality and variety are of greater concern,... keep looking.

Great introduction to digital modeling

I am writing this review specifically for people like myself, a bit long in the tooth, playing for many years, perhaps a bit suspicious of a pedalboard without dozens of patch cables, power bricks, hours spent agonizing over true bypass, yada yada. After a recent recording session that involved a lot of difficult cabinet miking, I decided to think about going direct. Nothing beats a good stompin' board for live situations, but surely there was an easier way for recording. The bottom line is that this machine lives up to the hype. It is simple to use if you're comfortable with a basic touch screen (want to move a pedal to a different position in the chain? just drag it over), and the layout/interface really does seem to be designed for people whose brains naturally ... MoreI am writing this review specifically for people like myself, a bit long in the tooth, playing for many years, perhaps a bit suspicious of a pedalboard without dozens of patch cables, power bricks, hours spent agonizing over true bypass, yada yada. It is simple to use if you're comfortable with a basic touch screen (want to move a pedal to a different position in the chain? just drag it over), and the layout/interface really does seem to be designed for people whose brains naturally go toward bending down and turning little knobs and flipping little switches. The sound quality is pretty fantastic, and my first experiment with downloading some new "rigs" went quite well, very easy. Even with just the factory presets, this is like having dozens of boards at your disposal, all of which can be adjusted and edited about as fast as their physical counterparts and rearranged much more quickly. I have not had the unit for long, but I hope the fact that it is built like a tank indicates it will prove reliable over time. Anyway, given the Gigboard some thought if you want a simple, player friendly introduction to this sort of thing. If nothing else, it's a lot of fun right out of the box.

Had the big pedalboard, this is better!
14 June 2022

Had the big headrush pedalboard, now have this. Better for me. No pedal to lug with it, but you can add one. Sounds the same. More practical to use. Big board had stuff that makes it look impressive, but most players dont need. Play a fender ultra strat thru a katana artist mk2 amp, sounds awesome. Those reviews that they couldn't get the sounds they wanted out of it probably didn't take the time to learn it, very easy to use. Like the guitar itself, no one learns overnight, give it 30 days and experiment, lots of online resources on it. Patience is key.

I have had numerous far more expensive amp simulators and I really like the gig board , its easy to use , it takes a while to dial something in that works for you, but when you do its magic . Sounds great through a PA .. I set it up to have three different complete rigs and toggle between them awesome!! It took me some time to dial in what I was looking for. recently the soundman for greenday and other high end bands couldnt believe how great it sounded , no BS

The interface sets it apart
24 October 2018

The avid eleven rack was not a dominating modeler in the market and now I see why. The headrush gigboard is a teaked eleven in rack in a pedal form, smaller than to full sized headrush effects pedal board with a treadle for wah and such. The effects are good, and its build is solid. The high gain amp models are laiden with 'digitalness' , a raspy crackle in the high frequencies that is the same across all models where high gain or distortion is part of the character. It cant be dialed out. Its part of its character. Line 6 also has these artifacts and that is why i sold them off after the newness wore off. That said, the interface is what makes this unti so cool. Has an effects loop that can be assigned anywhere in the chain and can switch channels on your amp. I like it enough to keep around and try to integrate into my live rig for effects. Im not sold on the models if the amps however. It does not even compete with a kemper. ( yes i know the kemper is way more money)

I tried the BOSS GT1000 and the Helix products. They all did fine, but sucked as effects units for real tube amps, and sounded less real to me in all applications. I was at my computer fiddling with EQ and stuff rather than playing. Then I swapped that for the Gigboard... Eleven rocked this unit in the best way. It just WORKS and it works well. They can all get to the same destination, but the Headrush Gigboard / Pedalboard will get you there in a third of the time, it'll be like using your touch screen phone/tablet, and much more visually pleasing!Do you want to be locked in a chair with your hand on the mouse when you wanted to play the guitar?
