First time using the cup - I was out of town at a work conference and was nervous when I got my period soon after the plane landed. I brought a few tampons for backup just in case but did not use them. The video tutorials were incredibly helpful with the punchdown fold. It worked right away and throughout the week there were only a few times where some leakage occurred due to a lack of a seal. It took a few tries but I feel like I finally figured out how to check for a seal by grabbing the tab and swirling it around once it was in place. This ensured none of the sides were folded in and there was a full seal. It is easy to clean and easy to use especially if you are in your own home. I will try to find suggestions for cleaning in a public restroom - I know some use ... MoreFirst time using the cup - I was out of town at a work conference and was nervous when I got my period soon after the plane landed. Overall, extremely satisfied with the Hello Cup!

I love the hello cups. They are truly comfortable. When looking through many reviews on many sites, people complained about the cup not opening. You need to do the shallow punch down. That's the fold I use for this cup (the one hello recommends) and I've never had an issue with it not opening. It's a bit awkward at first but you get the hang of it quickly. I've used the xs, s/m, and the lg, and one of the things that I find so great, is the fact that the hello cups don't move, at all. They stay where I place them. With other cups, they tend to move up (especially at night), but not these! A firm cup that wears like a soft cup! Plus, they're beautiful!

Frustrating - I had changed over after 3+ years of using a different brand and found the Hello Cup significantly thicker and leaked 3 months in a row. I had read the instructions prior to using and do use the shallow fold (which is a pain as the plastic is so thick) and always made sure the seal was complete. I reached out to their customer service team who just kept emphasising the shallow fold... I don't think the fold is the issue, but rather the cup is probably too firm to hold a complete seal while wearing. No issues with removal, just the anxiety of a cup leaking throughout the day. Shame as I have to keep buying pads to protect myself with this unreliable cup, defeating the purpose of a cup. I'll probably switch back to my original brand.

Disappointed with this cup :(
28 November 2022

Purchased this cup in medium in a hurry as had to replace another nz brands cup as my last cup had come to the end of its lifetime. My first annoyance with this cup is that I now need to buy steriliser tablets which I was not informed of until after I purchased the product. The previous cups I have used were sterilised by being boiled so did not have to purchase anything on top of the cup. Another issue I have is there is no measurements in the cup so I can no longer track the amounts I am bleeding. Lastly and the biggest issue I have is I find the period cup very hard to use - the fold and getting it out. This be because of me having long nails and the firmness to the cup.Unhappy with my purchase although I accept fault as I should have researched this product ... MorePurchased this cup in medium in a hurry as had to replace another nz brands cup as my last cup had come to the end of its lifetime. Emergency buy
16 March 2022

I have been using moon cups for over 10 years and I recently had this Hello cup on my radar. Then one day I accidentally dropped my cup in the toilet and it went down the pipe! I had to make an emergency dash to the supermarket for supplies and couldnt believe my luck that I could buy a Hello Cup at the local Countdown.Being 42yrs and having had 2 babies, I brought the large pink cup. It is huge, which is good because my flow is heavy.I found I had to relearn how to use this cup, but can see I will be fine. Also wondering if I need the 'low cervix' cup, as sometimes it feels like the cup is sitting to low.I found it the material a little squeaker than moon cup. And I had been meauring my flow which I cant do with Hello Cup - no measurement lines.I do love that ... MoreI have been using moon cups for over 10 years and I recently had this Hello cup on my radar. Then one day I accidentally dropped my cup in the toilet and it went down the pipe! Great product
9 September 2022

I’m still getting the hang of it. I do think I bought the wrong size though. Despite measuring myself, I think I have a low cervix so have bought the wrong item. I ordered the standard ones in xs and s where I probably need the shallow cup. I will give it another cycle to make sure. What do other women do with their unused, ‘wrong size’ cups??Can the company look into supplying a cheap, biodegradable/dissolvable ‘test’ cup? They are a lot money to spend on a product you then can’t use :(:(Can you do a double box that has a standard length cup and a short-cervix up?

Great product
4 April 2022

I am enjoying the entire concept surrounding menstrual cups. I love that I am no longer loading the bin and dumbing that plastic into the environment. That I don't have to have a potentially smelly bin a week a month.I was worried the cups felt a little too stiff and that it would bother me. That hasn't happened. After 3rd pregnancy, my periods have increased in intensity and I find that for the first 3 days I still need further protection in my knickers as the cups fill very quickly. Choosing the 2 sizes in 1 package wasn't the best idea for me as I need 2 of the largest capacity, effectively leaving me with a brand new S/M cup sitting in the vanity, brand new untouched and, maybe a little useless at this stage.

My experience as well as some tips and tricks

Trying to adjust to birth control was the worst, bleeding 24/7 for months I needed something to make it easier, so I invested in a hello cup. When I first tried the hello cup I was having a lot of difficulties about the fold, how it’s supposed to sit and a lot of trouble with leakageI tried a lot of tricks to avoid leakage, I couldn’t feel it suction, so I didn’t know if I was doing it right, twisting didn’t help either, I tried a few different folds but the recommended fold worked the best. What I do is put the cup in as per usual then try and flush the blood around the cup and ****** out with water. Also a tip to deal with stains is to soak the cup in 1 part bleach and 3 parts water and sit for 15-20 mins and the cup looks brand new again. This took me a good few months to get the hang of it. But now that I knew what I’m doing it’s amazing, it’s so comfy, most of the time you don’t feel anything but it should not be causing any pain once it’s inserted. If so just take it out or adjust the cup. I love the fact that it doesn’t need to be changed as regularly as a tampons or pads.

One of my best purchases
23 July 2022

I recommend the Hello cup to everyone. I have had mine for 4 years and it is still going strong. It took a couple of cycles to master but stick with it and it gets easier! Main positive is the erasure of smell. If you are someone who does lots of activities and gets out and about, travel becomes so much easier and stress-free as you don't have to worry about disposing of sanitary items. Going to be trying the disc soon. p.s. love how these reusable items result in not having to budget for sanitary costs.

I like the concept, however as a first time user I went through the website size-quiz and purchased the cups accordingly.I watched the video about inserting/taking out the cup and studied the punch fold to my best knowledge.I think doing the punch fold on the smaller size cups is extremely tricky perhaps due to their size.Regardless I am ok to insert the cups, checking them accordingly that there’s no dimples etc but it’s a hit and miss whether they work each time. When the cup was inserted properly - which I only knew when I took the cup out - I had lesser leakage. However other times the cup wasn’t filling despite following all the instructions/checking the cup once inserted etc. resulting in leaking. When it worked it was alright, and I liked that I didn’t ... MoreI like the concept, however as a first time user I went through the website size-quiz and purchased the cups accordingly.I watched the video about inserting/taking out the cup and studied the punch fold to my best knowledge.I think doing the punch fold on the smaller size cups is extremely tricky perhaps due to their size.Regardless I am ok to insert the cups, checking them accordingly that there’s no dimples etc but it’s a hit and miss whether they work each time. When the cup was inserted properly - which I only knew when I took the cup out - I had lesser leakage. However other times the cup wasn’t filling despite following all the instructions/checking the cup once inserted etc. resulting in leaking. When it worked it was alright, and I liked that I didn’t need to change the cup frequently, but I think it’s complicated to insert properly and unsure how to check if it’s properly inserted despite the tutorials.
