When a gang of teenagers can sit and watch a Disney film not for its nostalgic value, but simply because they thinks it's a gorgeous film, you know it's a winner. I understood the story and liked the impressive cartoon characters as a child, but now I also appreciate that the gospel-style music and unlikely heroin, who is more likely to punch someone in the face than wear a sparkly dress and fawn over a prince, make this a fantastically un-Disney film, which still howvever posseses the childlike innocence of its sister Disneys. Make sure you watch it!

Disney never fails to combine genres. You have action, a love story and comedy all rolled into one. This film is fun for all ages all will have the whole family laughing and perhaps even crying at some parts. From start to finish th standards never drop. You'll love this film!
A Greek Myth comes to life through this DVD. As you watch the movie, you experience elements of comedy, heroic actions/behaviour and lots and lots of love. A God falls from the sky and is turned almost mortal by two mythological creatures. To attain his place as one of the Gods, he has to prove he's a true hero on earth. He first invests in the idea of being famous but that doesn't work. Along the way, he meets a young, attractive woman called Meg. He falls inlove with her however she has other plans.... I loved everything about the movie, I love the whole thing. I think it's an absolute masterpiece. I decided to buy this DVD because I've been addicted to Hercules ever since it first came out and because it made me laugh. It is prophesied that the only one who can stand in the way of Hades' rise to power is Hercules, so young Hercules is made mortal by Hades' two sidekicks and thus doomed to live a mortal existence unless he proves himself to be a true hero. With the help of the satyr (half man, half goat) Philoctetes, Hercules becomes a strong and famed hero throughout all of Greece. Yet "a true hero is measured by the strength of his heart" and he has to prove himself such a hero before his immortality can be restored to him. Its lovely to watch some light hearted video after the year we've all hard. Loved it!
Poor quality and kept skipping/freezing. Bought for my class of 7 year olds to watch to do with Greek mythology and ended up giving up in the end! Annoying.
one of the best disney films - so under rated! excellent comedy for the whole family to enjoy. would recommend getting for your disney collection - would not be complete without this film in it. could be cheaper, seeing as it is 14 years old now, but hey. it more than pays for itself the amount of times ive seen this!
