Gig weekly, bought two of these, liked the design and function but the problem I have is on the base, the screw to tighten the base goes thru a yellow plastic piece that eventually strips making the stand useless, It can't stand! The first time I thought it was me, that I over tighten so the second one I was very careful and it still stripped. Had enough, won't buy another one, and Hercules doesn't sell parts even that small little plastic one that would fix my stand, you have to buy a whole new one! I don't think so, done... I'm going to try something else.

An amazing piece of engineering design. Solves all the problems I've had with stage and studio stands. Quick adjustments, easy break down, solid workmanship. Stage idiots are always trying to play with booms. There's something about a boom that makes everyone want to screw with it. I set mine once, with the finger-flip connector I can remove the boom and take it with me. When I come back I drop it on the stand and click it's perfect. What eventually stops working on most stands can't wear out on these. An awesome piece of equipment. I own two. One I've had in my studio since Hercules introduced them with the ugly yellow tripod block and a second one for gigs in black.

Well, I never ever thought I would be writing a review of a Mic stand. Purchased this from PMT this week after throwing out another cheap Amazon stand and seriously - omg. Never seen such a well engineered stand, total and utter quality and now obvious to me as to why all the positive reviews about the Hercules brand. The weird negative is for them, I will likely never have to buy another! Bravo Hercules, Bravo.

Best and toughest stand on the marketI now have 4 they are brilliant excellent quality idea for when I’m hosting Open MicsPeople treat mic stands roughly but these can take their roughnessThis is a fantastic product you will find no better
See above-not much else to say.Basic tripod stand save for the clutch mechanism which is an interesting design. This is an interesting design but poorly executed. The clutch works well and makes raising and lowering the stand an efficient process. The stand is heavy duty but that isn't helpful. The problem is the main knob that controls the angle of the boom arm. The knob is very difficult to loosen and tighten. As a guitar player my hands are pretty strong but this knob hurts to use. Moreover, the knob doesn't do its job--the boom arm will not stay in position no matter how much you tighten down the knob. The boom arm slowly droops so that you have to loosen and tighten the main knob every four or five minutes. And this isn't a one-off problem--I bought two of ... The boom arm slowly droops so that you have to loosen and tighten the main knob every four or five minutes. And this isn't a one-off problem--I bought two of these stands and the problem exists with both of them. I'd give these stands a negative 10 if I could but I can't so instead I'll warn you against buying one.Over priced even if it worked well. And given it's a nightmare of bad performance I suggest you look elsewhere. I would return the two I purchased if I could. You have been warned.
The convention threaded clamp for the boom must cranked down to keep it from drifting downward. In my home studio where the same people use the same stands they're adjusted but I would probably look elsewhere if I needed a stand with a more adjustment friendly boom or to be used by multiple people. There is something about mic stands, no matter how well adjusted singers need to fiddle with them.
I purchased this as an upgrade for my daughter to busk with, as her previous microphone stands weren't built for performing with no shelter in inclement conditions. It's double the cost but it's well worth it. Hercules kit is robust and can withstand the rigours of mobile performance (being dropped, knocked over, thrown into the boot of the car, etc.) It has the feel of a quality piece of kit - e.g., the height adjuster is easy to operate and maintains its tension, so doesn't lose height mid-performance (as some other cheaper brands are wont to). Purchasing a cheaper stand is a false economy as this will likely last longer.
Good quality mic stand, there are much cheaper alternatives that are a waste of money. Cheap stands are not stable and the boom will droop after a few uses, the height adjuster thread will strip and become useless. The Hercules mic stands are heavier built and more stable, the boom arm wont droop and the clutch height adjuster doesn't slip.If you are a gigging musician don't waste money on cheaper alternatives.
This is a quality mic stand that is suitable for gigging. There are a lot of cheaper mic stands available but in my opinion they aren't worth buying. Cheaper ones are not very stable and often droop leaving your SM58 on the floor and before long the plastic feral thread strips on the height adjustment. The Hercules clutch adjustment is a better design. The tubing is heavier and it's an all together more stable bit of kit.
I've had 3 mic stands made by Hercules. Love them till they fail. Just because of the brilliant design and the rugged construction. they still develop problems. The poles get out of the track and jam, parts fall out with wear. I am pretty hard on my gear. I gig frequently and do open mics which is notoriously hard on mic stands. I may buy from Hercules again. They are a joy to use until they fail and they take longer to fail generally than the cheap stuff. I bought a super cheap mic stand recently. It was useless in under 2 weeks. The Hercules stuff has lasted much longer. 2 of the 3 lasted over 2 years of tough use.
