Hermes Caleche for Women Eau de Toilette Spray 3.3 oz / 100 ml
Caleche eau de toilette calèche, the first hermès women's fragrance, was created in 1961 by perfumer guy robert. Its name refers to the maison's emblematic carriage: the elegant and light 19th-century horse-drawn carriage. Olfactory notes top notes are aldehydes, cypress, bergamot, neroli, orange blossom, lemon (acid lime) and mandarin orange. The heart notes are iris, ylang-ylang, rose, gardenia, jasmine and lily of the valley. Base notes are oakmoss, sandalwood, vetiver, musk, cedar, amber and tonka bean. The little story composed by guy robert in 1961, calèche is the house's first feminine fragrance. It is a floral woody chypre with a great femininity, whose name evokes the house's emblematic horse-drawn carriage. Calèche is a novel that shines through the beauty of its raw materials, from the joy of its citrus fruits to the modernity of its aldehyde notes, from the floral heart embroidered with ylang-ylang, rose and jasmine, with a woody and chypre trail that is underlined by the nobility of iris. The founders' collection recalls the first steps of the house of hermès in the world of perfumery and highlights its rich heritage, its references and its secrets. Timeless and always up-to-date perfumes.

I'm not an expert at describing the notes in fragrances. I'm in my 50's and I'm just learning. I wore perfume in my 20's and I recall wearing Poison, which has a stronger scent than this one. I find this fragrance to be a lot more subtle and lighter. But very appealing. That being said, I also don't think it lasts very long. Pretty much within the hour, I was not smelling much of it anymore but I would get a lingering waft of it every now and then and thought it still smelled very pleasant. I read somewhere that it was recommended for evening wear but in my opinion I would and have worn it during the day. I don't think it has enough staying power for evenings. This is just one girl's point of view.

The highlight of being back in the office is my lunchtime stroll around John Lewis. A few weeks ago I decided to sample the Hermes' perfumes. Best decision ever. This scent reminded me of happy times, don't know why but I had to have it. I bought it and use everyday. When ever I pass the bottle I have a skoosh so go and try it out you won't regret it.

Caleche is a lovely fragrance for the winter when the air is drier and lighter scents evaporate more quickly. I have been using it for a few years now as it is more subtle and interesting than most of the "modern" fragrances which are readily available in the high street shops.

I thought this fragrance smelled like something a much older person would wear. Not fresh at all. It was awful! I had to wash my arm where the fragrance was. I do not recommend. I like fresh smelling fragrances or soft floral. Not good.
I've been trying on this fragrance for a while! Took the plunge and bought it when there was a beauty discount. I think liking a particular fragrance is a personal thing but I love this one. To me it smells clean and powdery which I like. For an eau de toilette rather than a perfume the scent is quite strong and lasts well. All in all a great purchase
I have been wearing this perfume for over 45 years and I always get people saying how lovely the smell is. `it is light descent and very sophisticated. Wouldn't wear anything else. Price is good too will always buy Caleche by Hermes.
Wonderful vintage perfume! It's an EDT but it has good village and lasts for hours. Solid woody floral that turns a bit powdery in the dry down but only a bit. I love love love the sandlewood in this! Even my husband who never notices scents on average said this one was really nice. I have a more modern version of Caleche, the EDP, but it doesn't come close to the beauty of the vintage version...so so glad I got it!
I wanted a new fragrance. I have a signature fragrance in Hermès,24Faubourg. It will be my signature forever.I discovered Hermès, Caleche, many, many years ago. Took me eons todiscover the name. So I decided to explore and see if I can wear. I chose the more subtle Eau de Toillette. I always wear Eau de Parfum. It is perfect, and another right on scent from Hermès.Since the EU banned the use of real flowers in French Parfum, it is hard to find an original fragrance that does not have nauseating aldehydes. The aldehydes in Hermès Caleche, Eau de Toillette are subtle enough for the original refined scent to still be there. This is more complex than 24 Faubourg, but has all the elegance and sophistication with strong composition.I am HAPPY, I do LOVE Hermès, ... I believe that catching a scent is like catching a Star.
Have just collected this...it has transported me back some 40 years...., a truly beautiful timeless fragrance..Yes, I agree with previous comment.....the 'black' cap totally ruins the look. This is not a cheap perfume....What were you thinking Hermés?
I first purchased this perfume at Harrods when we lived in London. It was only found in Texas at the Hermes store . I received so many compliments on this perfume so I was so happy when Hermes started selling it elsewhere . I layer with the bar soap and body lotion . Amazing fragrance .
