Hermes Eau Des Merveilles Eau De Toilette Spray 100ml

I still don’t really know how I feel about this fragrance but one this is for sure; I give 5/5 for fragrance. I loooove the way this smells. It’s aquatic yet a little minty, kind of reminds me of a mojito at the beach. It’s just so soothing and relaxing and not at all overpowering. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. However, there is a big “but”. The lasting power on this is non existent. I was always asking myself, why is the scent so strong and I can pick up all the notes from the bottle but as soon as I spray it, it vaporizes?! I think it’s partly the bottle and the formula of the fragrance itself. If I spray a full spray and I get mist, I can’t smell a thing. Even with all that, I’m still keeping it. It’s so unique, I’ve never smelled anything like it and it totally and completely takes me away!

It may seem a-lot for one fragrance yet it somehow all blends together to this unique long lasting scent. I find it suitable for everyday wear, usually in the colder, brisker months since I prefer more of a stronger citrus or floral scent during the hotter months. Then comes the heart of the fragrance which Hermès calls "The Memory of the Ocean" consisting of Ambergirs a wonderful material which smells salty, musky and sweet all at the same time! Perfumer Ralf Schwieger, wanted to create a fragrance which centred around this note and I must admit it smells amazingly beautiful! It smells of the sea, with the salty air and also has a musky quality which blends really well on skin, almost like a "second-skin" type of scent. Then for the grand finale the dry-down called "The Sparkle of a Constellation" a sweet pairing of lemon and orange, followed by a spicy mixture of cardamom, black pink pepper. This is a very unusual ending for a fragrance, but it somehow just like everything Hermès – it works and works magnificently well, you cannot help but be incredibly attracted by the pure beautifulness of this fragrance. Eau De Marveilles is such an amazing perfume – the name actually means ‘Water of Wonders’ in French which it truly lives up to, I have been wearing this perfume for a few years now and I never get tired of the smell, each time I spray this scent it still marvels me just the same way as when I smelt it for the first time. Now we don’t have smell TV so I am going to try to explain the best way possible - Its smells like very typical French Parisian smell strong body not too sweet, too citric or too orangey although it does have a hint of orange to it, an amazing combination of pretty refreshing, it has a slight woody and warm aroma to it – which is most likely to be the amber which it contains, but still soft and not to over powering like most Parisian perfumes, I love my perfumes and I can honestly say that this is one of the most unique smells you will come across. I would say that anyone could wear this one, it's a very "happy" fragrance and there is something quite happy and magical about it, like a magic carousel, in a wonderland of aroma all packed into a bottle Unlike most scents this does truly stay with you all day! So if you want to wear it make sure you love it! Lolita Lempicka perfumes have the longest lasting that is know of, but it defiantly does not last all day. I can put it on in the morning and when I'm showering in the evening after a long day, you can still smell the last of the lingering scent - Now I let you in on a little secret a regular 50ml bottle costs GBP83.00, now the gift set contains 50ml of fragrance plus a smaller 15ml hand bag size bottle at the price of GBP75.00 so great value for money for getting the gift set.

None of the notes overpower each other. I believe this is marketed for women, but it also smells masculine. I think most people would agree it’s unisex. It is a nice beach type of fragrance without being too strong. Sometimes I get a hint of amber with this, but I don’t think it’s actually in the fragrance. Beautiful looking & smelling perfume

I bought this perfume as a gift and so I compared the smell to a number of other perfumes, including other Hermes fragrances. I kept coming back to this one. It has a more contemporary scent and is something that can go from day to evening, as it's not overpowering, but it is also not too light.My friend loved it! I've given it 4* because she said it could have smelt a bit stronger.

bought the original Hermès fragrance and wanted more staying power in it but It fades rather fast and is more Subtle, so I bought this looking for more staying power. And yes it stays but I wouldn’t call this a dupe. I just smells like men’s after shave. Far more manly and seemingly heavier than the original. The original fades into a sweet Amber with wear and this gives me Avon Wild Country. I really wanted to like it because that would mean I would save money on the original. But they didn’t even mix well together.But shipping was rather fast so that was nice.In the end I gave it to my dad.

Long lasting, juicy summer scent

I am absolutely inlove with this scent!The delivery was quick and seamless and i could hardly wait to open it.Generally, aquatic scents are not long lasting but this is 12 hours and if on clothes you will still smell it the next day.The opening is a fresh citrus burst that is smooth and slightly sweet, I detect a sweet juicy melon which carries through to the mid stopping the composition from being sharp and tangy. The base is a little woody but the most juicy and refreshing kind. It's definitely luxurious and refined and you can really smell the quality ingredients.Would definitely repurchase.

Smells great

I didn't like the smell of this on me at first. But once I gave it time to settle I like it a lot! I did take a star off because, for how pricy this is, it doesn't seem to last very long on my skin. Stars are for scent, not longevity. I would not recommend this to anyone just because you have to reapply. For the price you really shouldn't need to. I probably won't buy it again.

Strong and Persistent Fragrance

I got this perfume few years ago and I was really satisfied with it. The bitter orange scent is quite noticeable. The fragrance lasts for a long time and it is very strong. I assure you that everyone will notice it. I associate the scent of the perfume with a strong women. It is perfect to wear to an evening event or a special meeting.

The most amazing fragrance

I finally found my signature scent. I can't describe how much I am in love with this fragrance. It is complex without being confusing. It's spicy but not overly so. Soft powder in the background. Some citrusy orange. And with all that still has a clean scent to it. Just simply beautiful. The perfume is subtle so you could wear this every day. Very sexy scent. It's a must try.
