I just bought this backpack for my partner's birthday, after he mentioned how much he liked the Little America backpack he borrowed from someone for a trip. It being a gift, I opted for the more expensive heavyweight canvas model, believing it would be an upgrade for him. Unfortunately, the trade off is you're paying more for nice fabric, but for far fewer convenient features. Even the dual water bottle pockets are disappointing, since they are completely flat pockets, so if your bag is loaded up (likely, if you're looking at a large capacity bag) you won't be able to slide a bottle in. It has no give for the pouch to expand outward to accommodate it. What I find most upsetting is that, when I was reading the descriptions online and looking at the heavyweight canvas model in ivy green (my original choice, but then he opted for a darker color, so as not to show dirt) the description when you click on "more information" is wrong. It lists all the features of the non-heavyweight canvas, so I believed it had all the same features he was looking for. I don't feel that I should be responsible for return shipping charges, since the description is inaccurate. It's very inconvenient and annoying that we even have to do the return process, since we would want to keep it, if it had been as advertised. I'm not even sure that I can return it, since I looked up my order and it says "Final sale - not eligible for returns" despite the product page saying there are 30 day returns for this item.Thoroughly disappointed with this purchase experience.

This is my 2nd little American. I bought it again for the mesh cushion padding on the back and for It’s 25L capacity. It’s my day to day bag. It’s stylish enough for go with a work outfit.However, I’m still disappointed that they didn’t add more compartments after all these years. There can be a simple zipped up pouch on the inside for wallet or valuables. (The outside one is just not secure for travelling). I know there is another version “Little América Pro” with more pockets and compartments, but they removed the mesh padding, and “Pro” version’s outside material is less thick/sturdy.. Doesn’t justify in my opinion. Overall, I still think they should reconsider adding two more compartments on the regular Little America. Doesn't matter If its full or empty because it squeaks loudly no matter what. There is nowhere to store a water bottle. When I bought it I assumed that's what the inner side pockets were for but they are too small for any water bottle. Even then, I don't want the risk of water spilling on my tech inside my bag so I am just thirsty when I go somewhere with this. Finally, I realise now I will have to buy a new bag either way because now that I have a tablet and a laptop this does not hold both. My son's bag pack finally "broke down"; the magnets stopped working after so much use from high school to college.Hershel shipped me a new backpack after I sent them images. I have been buying products for the last 10 years, from backpacks to hip packs to wallets. You cannot go wrong with this brand. I read the reviews stating the Little America bag pack quality has worsened, but my son said the straps are leather, the padding is the same, and the fabric quality is fine. I just wanted to share my experience. Hershel, thank you for standing by your warranty, offering outstanding customer service, and offering fantastic products. This backpack turned out to be a disappointment. I was waiting for the backpack for about a week, and eventually it came with label sewn upside down. So now I have the backpack, which costs 110 $, looking like cheap fake - because of this label. This is very upsetting. I leave the United States in about a week, so I will have no time to get the new backpack. Also, one of the magnets do not seem reliable. I was choosing between Herschel and a backpack of another brand, and decided to give Herschel a chance due to its nice look and reputation. Now I have to return it. I do not have a wish to deal with Herschel again, unfortunately.

This is my second Little America ( I got the regular version before, with rubber straps). This is my review of the Windowpane version.Why to get the Windowpane version over the Regular:1. No rubber/leather straps ( these will curl/chip if you wash and dry the bag)2. Pockets on the sides for water bottle. Fits a 1L Nalgene too!3. No mesh on the back ( this will deteriorate over time from friction and cause damage to your cotton t-shirts)4. No metal bits on the straps ( this will chip from wear and tear). Plastic is better.5. No felt material for laptop pocket ( this is difficult to dry with a dryer and needs to be air-dried with a fan).6. The base of the bag is much tougher than the regular one.7.
