First of all, we LOVE grinding our own salt. So much more flavor this way. Secondly, you literally can't beat the style and look of the HexMill Salt Grinder. It's heavy duty and allows so many different grinds, which are so simple to achieve. Thirdly, we've owned several high end salt mills, but they don't compare to this...at all. It's expensive, but in my opinion, it's worth it.

Literally the last set of cookware you will ever have to buy. I'm so impressed with the quality, size of pans, the durability. Mostly impressed by the ease of cleaning these pans. Don't forget you can use metal while cooking which in itself is awesome!! I have tested using metal on these pans and believe me, won't leave a mark.

I have tried numerous salt and pepper grinders. They all seem to fail within a month, but then I found them with Hexclad and they are amazing. The grinders haven't stripped, and there's no screws to take out when refilling; you simply push a button to open and refill. Awesome job Hexclad. I have bought multiple items already, and will continue to do so. Great products!

The hexmill salt and pepper grinders are both very efficient because just one twist of the wrist gives a large amount of product. Little work is required. The second highlight of these grinders is the consistency of the grind. Ten (10) settings provide a range from fine grind all the way to coarse.
It is just salt right? This grinder takes salt grinders to the next level. I got tired to grinding salt in my old grinders, just took a lot of cranks and not control over the size of the grind. Well no longer this grinder produces a LOT of salt and at the grind size YOU want. I also have the pepper grinder, same deal. This is a great pair of grinders and built to be the last ones you ever need!
The salt grinder is my most recent Hexclad purchase. I have nearly 600 cookbooks, not including the one I am writing. I started life in a family of food lovers nearly 80 years ago, and still have my grandfather’s and father’s pepper grinders, although I no longer use them. They have been replaced by 2 Hexclad pepper grinders . . . one for black pepper corns, the other for red Szechuan pepper corns. And my newest is the Hexclad salt grinder. Together, the three grinders will handle those seasoning needs for the remainder of my life’s cooking. They easily surpass every other grinder I have seen and tried in both the quality and quantity of their grind, and are built to a standard of quality which I am confident will never be surpassed.
Love the product, BUT waited and waited for the salt grinder and pepper grinder to be offered as a package, and finally gave up waiting, so I offered them individually in a single order. Three days after I received them, they were offered as a package for a $50 discount. I guess that I could have returned them and re-ordered, but I didn't want to go through the trouble. Not Hapoy after purchasing TWO 13-piece sets of Hexclad and their bowls and the griddler. Lesson learned--WAIT for their sales!!!!
My whole life it feels like I have searched in vain for the perfect salt grinder that can function both as an incredible salt distribution device as well as a home defense equipment. The salt grinder by Hexclad finally fills these needs by expertly processing salt rock in varying degrees of refinement as selected, but also be hefty enough to defend against even the most robust physical threats.
Should be white. I wish there was a way to upload a picture, so I can show you our salt and pepper tray. We have both your salt and pepper grinders. My wife also has black and white salt and pepper bowls for precision measuring. They are labeled salt and pepper. Everything but the salt grinder works esthetically. It's crazy you hit me up for a review, as we just had guests over for dinner last night. My buddy asked me what was in the grey grinder. When I told him salt, he had a bewildered look on his face and said "That's weird. Why isn't it white?"
The salt mill works great. looks great. has a nice weight to it. well constructed. The only minor thing is you've missed sized the o-ring that holds the cap on the bottom of the unit. it's too small and therefore is too loose. I fixed it myself by putting a little layer of tape underneath the o-ring to make it push out more proud of the base so that it was not so loose.
