This is quite a good product but use with care. I have mainly used this for cycling, but have been starting to use it for longer runs. I did not find it so effective for running but have been pleased to find that it does not upset the digestive system - as some of these products can.As per any of these types of energy products - test them out on a training ride/run BEFORE the big event, so you know how your body reacts to them. This is a very liquid "gel" so its easy to swallow, although tearing the top off the sachet to consume it, is not always so easy - especially on the bike.

Best part is you don't need water with these gels. Abit heavy especially when stringing a bunch of them for those really long runs but manageable as you use them up the more the run progresses. It can be somewhat tricky tearing off the top while running to the point where one has to slow down considerably. However, one gets used to this and I am yet to come across any gel that does it better on that part. I really like them

Firstly the flavour is good. Pretty much tastes like berry and easy to drink. There is a category on thickness which I think I might be storing this wrong as I leave this in a cupboard because it's completely watery rather than a gel. My main problem is my refuelling process is awful so by the time I take any type of energy gel or food I'm usually completely rinsed out and missing the full benefit. I'm giving 5 stars mainly because it taste like berries and was cheap upon purchase. It doesn't bother me that it is watery as it's actually easier to consume but maybe it'll taste better if it was thicker like gel.

I like the way thickness is measured – I gave thickness 5 stars but don't know if thick is good or bad, but anyway this is a quality energy booster and the taste is great. Not all are. The only issue is price – I thought this particular deal was pretty good but shop around for the best. The real reason I'm writing this review is to counter a claim made by another reviewer who said using these means he doesn't need to carry water. Well, if he's running less than 10km then I'm sure you don't need to carry water anyway, but these are not a fluid substitute. You think they're a fluid because they're a gel but your body treats it like food. So these gel energy products are a booster only, never a water substitute. Good luck out there. I have tried a few different energy gels during training and all of them have left a off taste in my mouth and need water to wash them down. These are something else, they are like drinking water they could don't have as much flavor as the other types but you don't need it. i have also been able to go from needing to take 1 every 20 or so minutes to one every 30 minutes, I dare say i could stretch it a little longer. this not only saves money but saves from having to carry more sachets on longer runs. The caffeine gives you a huge boost too these are the first ones i have had with Caffeine in. 100% will be buying again.
I have eating processed food so naturally I don't really consume this sort of things usually. However, I needed something to keep me fuelled up during my long runs so decided to try these out. Previously I have tired the SIS gels but those tasted disgusting and ended up only using one of the gels. I probably would prefer eating grass along my running route than the SIS gels. These High5 ones, although they are not nice, are more palatable. It actually does taste as though they might be made using at least some natural ingredients.
If your riding and your on a relatively straight and comfortable to now grab a gel from your back pocket. Be careful as when you rip the top of the gel with your teeth the whole thing rips and the gel is all over you and the bike. You now have an awful sticky ride for the rest of your journey. The slits are not proper. Don't have this issue with other gels. In terms of taste it's very nice.
In my last box of these, almost every single gel split open in my pocket. The seam running down the back of the gel split and leaked the contents into my pocket. Not sure if I got a bad batch or if the robustness of the packaging has just declined. Will be switching back to SiS gels though where I don't have this problem... The actual gels themselves are fine, if you can actually keep them sealed long enough to consume them.
Only tried Orange flavour but they're really tasty. Watery consistency makes it very easy to take, compared to others I've tried (even other High5 gels). Can't really speak for the energy qualities because that amount of gel doesn't really make a huge noticeable difference - I just find them really easy to carry in my pocket on a 10 mile run when I don't want to carry water
These are by far and away the best energy gels I have had. They are not as thick as some of the others, and they taste actually very nice. The orange tastes like capri sun, and the tropical tastes like umbongo. Good slow release energy, especially when taken with some water!! Initially just used them for distance running, but have also started using them before a swim!!
